I’m getting the Woody and Jessie, but to get the $120 plus tax, I have to mow my front and back yard 6 times each. My parents are cheap. I may also get Bo Peep, depending on how much b-day money I get.
I dunno. I tried squeezing one of the Glow-in-the-Dark Aliens I bought this morning, and the plastic felt just as stiff as the TSC versions. Didn’t feel any more pliable to me.
so just to be clear, nothing was available at toys r us or disney store besides utility belt buzz? i checked my disney store and i didn’t even see wave 1. but i did see the in scale hamm which i should pick up.
Odd, mine are quite squeezable. The paint on the aliens is a darker blue and the bottom squeak are is painted in detail as well. As you can see below, I can squeeze it with just one hand. The original ones are almost rock hard. The glow in the dark paint is a added spray on which does not work well, it is splotchy and thin.
To answer the other question on the certificate frames, I use the Ultra Pro screw down series 5X7 plastic frames. You can find them in most sport card collector stores.
Can you post a picture or a video???
What is your opinion on the glow-in-the-dark aliens??? Are they worth it???
Compare them to the orginal 3-pack release. Which ones are better, and why.
Are the hands and head of the glow aliens made of the same material and paint??? Remember that the original 3-pack version werent.
Hmm, I m debating going with these single packs myself. the aliens are the only ones I don’t have out of wave 1. I’m wondering if these will seem more accurate. They certainly seem like they would feel more accurate, and the darker blu paint is more appealing to me. its a hard choice though since I was aiming to eventually get the complete collection buying only those with COAs.
Kinda late to the party, she’s been up for a day er so now. still not quite available, as it says June 1st. and no one has managed to find one so far that I can tell. maybe it’ll be a couple more weeks or so. maybe they are out and we just havent heard from them. We’ll see. it is getting close though, thats for sure.
Darn it! Those aliens are more accurate than the “collection” ones. I hate that collection title, as there are more accurate versions, and others from files, etc. Now theres even 2 lines called “toy story collection”, thats confusing!
I’m so mad that their double dip is something moreaccurate than the initial release. This is why I’m not buying Mr. P until the $10 one comes out in the fall.
Editted by TSS: Careful with the word choice please. Thank you.
Why do you think they are more accurate? Aside from the softness of the plastic, (which still seems to be a question, since I am definitely NOT able to squeeze mine), they appear nearly identical to the TSC versions, just with slightly darker uniforms, and the glow feature.
There isn’t two toy story collections that I’m aware of, only the story story collection, and the Pixar collection. as for the line these new aliens are from, I’m not sure it has a name does it? probably just labeled under the “toy story 3” line.
Mancub, I got my Hamm from ebay. nHe arrive in 4 days and was perfect. Not a scratch on him.
As for Florida I would say based on my visit last year the shops at DownTown Disney would probablythe best bet. I think it was called World of Disney and it was massive. I spent a fortune in there! lol
I have my doubts in regards to the new glowing aliens. If you ask me, I think they are exactly the same aliens from the 3-pack but repainted. Many Toy Story fans werent purchasing the aliens when they first came out. The majority of forum members were even waiting for them to be on clearance to get them. The aliens are among the shelves warmers in this toy line. If you ask me, Thinkway had a surplus of aliens, since stores werent ordering more aliens. Faced with this situation, Thinkway came with TARGET EXCLUSIVE idea to get rid of them. Thats my hypothesis so far. I still need to study the issue more in order to arrive to a final conclusion.
If you have the glowing aliens, please help me out with this incognita.
In regards to the materials being different, I will ONLY be a believer if you can squeeze the HANDS or the HEAD. Even on some 3-pack versions you could squeeze the stomach. It depends mostly on your strenght and the quality of the toy. There are multiple youtube reviews in which people squeeze the stomach of the 3-pack versions to indicate how hard they are. It is IMPOSSIBLE to squeeze the HANDS on the original version. If you could squeeze them in the new glowing version then they are CERTAINLY made of another material.
Also, are the HANDS made of the same material than the HEAD??? In the 3-pack version the HANDS were different and had a gloss finish that the HEAD didnt have. If you can still see this difference in the glowing version, thats another hint that they are EXACTLY the same aliens repainted.
Finally, is the new glowing paint spread evenly on the figure?? If it is uneven, splotchy and thin, that would suggest it was spray painted over the original 3-pack version, and not part of a new material thats softer and made to glow. A sloppy sprayed glowing paint can give us a hint as to why the uniform looks darker in this second version.
Quality control was and might still be an issue with this line.
I still need to study this issue more, but so far those are my findings.
As a reminder to all readers, Im the person who deciphered that there are four versions of BUZZ box.
The hands and head are exactly the same as the TSC collection pieces and do not squeeze. The body is the only difference being a softer plastic and having a different paint job. Otherwise, they exactly match as the picture shows. Those are the facts, as i noted earlier, I cannot squeeze the collection ones, it is no problem with the new ones as the posted picture shows.
