Speaking of which, I figured out that the TSC Lotso also has the open mouth thing when it should be closed, which is judging by the fact that in Up he was seen with his mouth closed.

I don’t think that’s much to go on, I mean, the overall model seemed early at that point, I think I see subtle differences from the finale movie model.
Of course, I wouldn’t be surprised if they screwed him up the same way as Woody. basically, expect them to open up every characters mouth at some point. The only way around it is when the character has his mouth open already in the movie.
Hey guys! I’ve been following the Toy Story Collection line for a while now, and I noticed something interesting. The serial numbers for these toys all follow a certain order, which goes like this:
-64011: Buzz
-64012: Woody
-64013: RC
-64014: Mr. Potato Head
-64015: (Skipped over, see below)
-64016: Rex
-64017: Bucket o Soldiers
-64018: Aliens
-64019: (Not yet assigned?, see below)
-64020: Jessie
-64021: Bullseye
-64022: (Not yet assigned?, see below)
-64023: Utility Belt Buzz Lightyear
-64024: (Not yet assigned?, see below)
-64025: (Not yet assigned?, see below)
-64026: Lotso
Now by itself the list isn’t that exciting, but taking certain facts into account it becomes a bit more interesting, mainly:
-Every TS Thinkway figure (sans MPH, probably due to the Hasbro license) has a basic figure and a collection version. Thus, it’s highly possible that in Wave 3 we could be seeing Twitch, Sparks, Chunk, and another currently unknown character fitting in the unused slots (64019, -22, -24, -25).
-The huge gap between Lotso and the other characters suggests that Lotso was originally going to be part of wave 3, but was moved to 2 in a last-minute manner, probably to help promote Toy Story 3.
-A Collection Hamm was originally planned for this line (the toy itself can be
seen in the 2009 expo pic), but was canceled due to lack of retailer interest. Thinking logically, we can determine that it was considered long enough to get its own number, 64015.
Pretty cool, huh? ![]()
Hmm, so there are potentially 3 that we don’t know about, if we don’t count the canceled Hamm.
I’ll throw out my guess for these 3. Prospector, Zurg and one character from TS3. hard to say who without seeing the movie, I need to see who has the most screen time aside from Lotso. I still don’t have any read on how big of a character Twitch will be. if I had my pick any of the new toys it would be Trixi.
And that number that might have been reserved for Hamm could easily get a new toy in its place, probably yet another new character. they would have to counter my other guesses since those don’t appear in TS3 they would need to make sure they pick someone who’s going to be in higher demand.
Jenny from Thinkway said they have not yet finalized wave 3 so they probably don’t have them all locked down, but do have some some they know they’ll make for sure. Again, I’m just speculating here.
Well, if it’s anything to go by, Wikipedia has Twitch listed as a non-speaking character, which would work against him in the candidacy for a TSC version. My thought process for that is that Thinkway loves to beef up the toys with electronics, and if he doesn’t talk, that takes away a lot of the electronic possibilites, unless they do insect clicking noises or magic battle staff sound effects, etc.
the trouble with wikipedia is, that it can be edited by anyone
Right, that’s why I’m not putting too much stake on it, just using it as a point of reference, as it’s the first anyone’s said of him talking or not.
IMDB can also, if the info gets by their mods or whatever.
But I dont think not talking is much of a factor in getting a TSC release. Bullseye and RC both have made it into the collection.
Is it possible to obtain an affordable, realistic, in-scale Bo?? Also, is the TSC Jessie’s hair plastic, like the other Jessie’s?
No its yarn and yes there is a bo peep that is pretty much in scale but very expensive usualy on ebay its rare.
While that Bo Peep dolls is nice, its very small, and too much an actual doll as opposed to what Bo Peep “actually” is in the film.
I really do hope Bo Peep is in a wave 3. It could have a ton of phrases, and could contain the base with lamp, but with it being battery operated, rather than electricity. (Like they did with the luxo jr lamp)
I bet they’ve already had the same idea, and even have a prototype. If not, lets mail them this wish:
Bo Peep. 1:1 scale (cost wise, it would be the same sort of vinyl used on buzz, woody, rex, etc, but could be painted gloss ie: woodys hair)Vinyl. Head joint, arm joints, no other joints. Cane. Sheep. Base. Lamp, powerd via the triple a’s used to make her talk (that function would be in the base). The Bo itself, lightweight, and vinyl.
I can see them doing that. How many would buy this?
I’ll mail this post to Thinkway, via email, letter, and calling. And let them know my idea, etc. Companies on the fence with “obscure” characters, can be pushed over if enough customer rallying goes on. I’ve seen it done with Mattel. I’ve seen it done with Hasbro.
I would buy this, mostly because I am a compulsive completer, but I can see that working like Jessie and having dual appeal: the collector market and the girl’s market. I can see Thinkway saying that she is too obscure though since she’s not really going to be in 3 as far as we know, that’s the only thing I can see that would get in the way of this.
If there is to be a wave 3, then Thinkway would be crazy not to have Zurg and Stinky Pete. Trixie would be an obvious addition. Rex was hugely popular over here in the UK and couldn’t be found until last month. You can’t count out a Mrs Potato Head either. She would seem to me the most obvious to add. The body mould is there already via Mr P. What would be cool, is a 3 pack of smaller stars. I’m thinking Wheezy,Pricklepants and maybe bookworm. Much like the Aliens set. Chances of it happening are zero, but I thought I would throw it in anyway.
well neither is RC and he was made.
I would buy that in a heartbeat.
I am honestly surprised after all these years that no lamp has ever been produced, not even on the collectibles market.
Based on the advice from TRU employees ay my local store, Im going to check it out tomorrow mrning for the new toys. I will take pics of all of them on the shelf if they are in stock.
What advice was that? My TRU said the check on Mondays and Thursdays.
