You know, I was on the fence about Lotso before, just because he was a teddy bear and all. but him not being to scale makes this an easier decision for me. I’m not going to buy one. Guess my original plan of getting the entire TSC is no more. I just cant see me getting any toy story toys that don’t at least attempt to be to scale.
Maybey it has somthin to do with the fact that Wampar has woody on a stand and put somthing in Woody’s hat and since lotsos stuffed maye he is leaning over.
My suggestion is laying Lotso on his back next to Woody and Buzz, that way, there’s no debate about standing. From that pic with Buzz, he looks better.
To be honest, I’m just going to wait until a company like Hot Toys picks up a Toy Story license and makes really high-quality spot-on replicas of the toys. I’m sure in a few years we’ll end up getting something a bit more high-end.
Yeah, but how long will that be? Thinkway’s toys are very popular, and they currently show no signs of discontinuing the Toy Story Collection line. Besides, the whole idea of an exact Toy Story replica is a still a fairly new idea.
Kyle, I have Lotso, and because of where i display my toys lotso is basically standing as tall as he can, and he may not be as tall as woody, because who knows what optical illusions are in play, but he is as tall as in the above pic compared to buzz. I think you should wait until you see one in person
As I’ve said before, this is a bad pic to judge from. The TSC Woody in this pic has his knees slightly bent (making his legs jut out more, thus making them look fatter) and his feet on the stand instead of on the ground (making his legs sink into his boots; his lower legs would appear longer if they were to be left to hang freely rather than propped up against the stand).
I wish lotos were sculpted underneath, so he would be composed of big solid foam casts the the fabric is stretched over to keep his very distinct obese shape and roundness. Kind of like muppet making, but it would work really well with Lotsos look translated from screen.
I still will buy the TSC one, but I may contemplate making one as well. Thats why I love the walkaround suit at disney, it shows the forms underneath very well. Something that can only be done toy wise, if the fabric had a from to cling to.
Did any one here order there aliens from amazon if so did they qualify for the free shiping Beacause I have swagbucks and its a search and win site and I earned enough swag bucks to get a 25 dollar giht card from amazon and i was wondering f you pay shipping on them or not.[/img]
Wampar - sorry to go off topic, but how did you make Mrs. P’s eyebrows disconnected? ![]()
It wont come up, because it’ll be a penny off. But thats what this link is for:
Thats just a site that chooses the penny or ten cent items, so that way you can for sure get the aliens with that amount (assuming there is no extra sales tax)
Wampar, sorry to keep pestering you with questions about your collection, but did you construct that Snake toy with the same stuff you used to make the pieces for Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head, or did you use something different?
I think waiting for another line to pick up the license is a bit too optimistic and unrealistic, since Thinkway has been making the Toy Story stuff since the first movie, and after the hype dies down from the theatrical and eventual DVD release of “3”, so will the demand for Toy Story toys.
Personally, I’m happy with having slightly flawed toys rather than not having them at all. The fact that they’re making an effort to reach out to the collectors market with these is huge to me, because they could just make the cheaper versions and have those be it, but they went the extra mile to create something that would appeal to us, and while they aren’t perfect, I think they should get some credit anyways for trying.
The other thing is, Pixar is giving them the data files to use for these toys, and telling them what they want these toys to do and look like, so it’s not just Thinkway who’s to blame for the current toy problems. I’ll get off my soap box now, but that’s my two cents.

Which Lenny is that and is the Bo Peep from the first toy story?
I like what you did with the Toy Story and Beyond Lenny. I also have it.
Btw nice collection!
This is so hard
I’m a budget
I could only buy 2 out of 3 of wave 2
Bullseye is definite, i’ll be getting him
but after looking at the pictures of jessie, i don’t think i want her
she looks real nice but i feel like i could skip her
Lotso however
I really like him, he looks amazing
So after having lotso for a week, I still love him. I expected my enjoyment to die down but he reminds me of the stuffed animals i had as a kid. I thonk the only complaint i have is that he is a darker shade of pink than I think he should be, but that may just be because all i have seen of lotso is a few shots where i dont know what the lighting is.
How are his features and phrases?
I am very tempted to get TSC Buzz right now. Before, I planned that I’d just get Woody and that would be the end of it (I wanted to wait until more features were available), but he just looks so accurate. I was so pleased with the quality of Woody alone that I might need to get something else (I might pick up the Aliens and Army Men locally if the prices drop again).
I sure hope they make a collection or close to accurate Stretch figure. I got the 6-inch version of her today and she was not so good or accurate as i thought she’d be.javascript:emoticon(‘:(’)
I did use the same stuff: Sculpey, polymer clay. It bakes in your home oven. For Mr. P’s eyes, and all of Mrs. P’s pieces I used white sculpey that I baked and painted. The snake is made of green sculpey, then I printed the purple from a design I created in PhotoShop, and printed them on a low gloss photo paper. Sometime in the next week or so I am going to use some purple sculpey to make the bottom half of Zurg. I have this amazing sippy cup with a molded Zurg from the waist up which is slightly smaller than scale, but a lot closer than anything that has been made to date.
And I agree with what you said about Thinkway doing a great job giving us new toys. If you look at the first toys they created back in '95 in comparison to what they are creating now, it is clear that they care about the product they are creating. Nothing in the world, or in life is ever going to be perfect…there is always room for improvement with everything…but these are amazing, especially when compared to past versions. But that is just my opinion.
