jessie review
Nice review. Jessie looks pretty good, better than I thought. What’s with that voice though? it isn’t Joan Cusack for sure, a disappointment that. Lotso is too small and now this poor voice acting. Wave 2 is has left me wholly underwhelmed.
I could have sworn that I read that the TSC Jessie sounded exactly like her. Maybe it’s just the sound quality of the video? He said you couldn’t see her belt that well with his camera so sound might not be the best either. That, or I’m not remembering correctly.
Ive heard numerous opinions about the voice, most agreeing with this guy. I think it was the other way around, the sound quality of the other videos (of the non TSC Jessie, but uses the same voice actor) was bad enough that it sounded more tolerable.
I’ll have to check myself, but I don’t think it actually glows. you’ll notice the glowy parts have a certain texture, the hand patches are smooth.
I could be the audio on the video. She may sound better in hand as it were. I will have to wait for another review. If anyone has a Jess on this site, maybe they could clarify if it is Joan Cusack?

Are you talking about in the movie or in the TSC doll. In the movie, it definately lights up, just re-watch the Buzz Lightyear commercial.
Was talking about the real life one. If it doesn’t glow already as I suspect, then painting with with non glowing paint doesn’t really concern me.
And regardless of whether or not it glows, I should be able to buy that spray they use to make it glow at some point, right? I haven’t tried to look for it though.
Edit: yeah, I just checked, the patches do not glow. they probably do in the movie, but not the TSC version.

Looking at the second vid of Jessie, I’m convinced it isn’t cusack. Also I noticed how high Jessies hairline is at the back. She looks almost bald from the back of her neck to her ears. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that they get Bullseye right.
To me it sounds like it could be her, but who knows. on one hand it does say so on the site, but it doesnt say “original voice” for Rex, and you can just tell that its Wallace Shawn doing him, so maybe we shouldnt take it’s word for it for everything.

Is it Tom or Jim Hanks doing Woody on the TSC? I havent really “played” with mine, becasue I hate removing the whole pack.
Its no doubt Jim Hanks doing woody. Lee himself confirmed this on his twitter if I remember right. A lot of people dont mind though, myself included. I think he sounds close enough to Tom, especially once you factor in the sound quality, its hard to tell a lot of the time that it isn’t Hanks.
It is a Hanks though, haha. I had thought I rememberd it was Jim. I’m just glad that they were able to get his brother, and not some other actor too far removed from it.
This is really ghetto but I used some pieces of paper to put on his hands.
The hairline in the back does bother me…but I think I know why they did it. they were already concerned that the pony tail was too thick. If there was more hair there it would be even thicker. unlike animation there inst as much room to cheat.and I bet they were hoping the ponytail would simply cover up the hairline, but it didn’t quite work out that way. Hair must be a hard thing to do right. Not just in CG, but real life.

I just saw a video review o lotso that leads me to believe there are ore running changes. In the video, his certificate shows a more sinister lotso, but the image on mine is a very happy lotso
