Thinkway's Toy Story Collection

Can someone check if Jessie’s string is the same thickness as Woody’s? I’m asking because Woody’s string is a bit thick, and if I give Woody a smaller/more accurate ring like Jessie’s, the knot around the ring might look awkwardly large. If Jessie’s string is the same thickness, then it won’t be a problem.

Jessie’s string is smaller

My collection. I’m getting DS Hamm in this week.

I’m debating whether I need to get RC. I mean I like the toy in the movie, and I really love how the TSC verison looks, but I don’t know. As an radio controlled enthusiast, I’m still really annoyed that the front wheels barely move, that it has a front wheel to drive it instead and that the remote control isn’t an actual R/F remote, and that the suspension is fake. Also even with the price reduced $20 from the original starting price, he’s still considerably expensive for my range.

BUT, I really need a vehicle or something for my TSC Buzz and Woody to ride. So it’s really either him or the TSC Bullseye.

I thought RC looked great, other than the fact that there’s no Turbo on the remote control. I just wouldn’t have any place to actually drive it around, so I thought it would feel more pointless getting a remote control car if it’s just going to sit on the floor in my room all the time.

Is the TSC Jessie’s hair plastic?? What about the non-TSC??? I’m really concerned with the hair being made of actual yarn for accuracy.

TSC Jessie has real yarn hair, as well as the one from Mattel. The regular Jessie from Thinkway has plastic hair.

WOW 200 PAGES!
I’ll post pics of Hamm when I get him.

Thanks, Flik-E.

Hi, silicagel!! That’s a nice Buzz, and I’m jealous now.

Welcome!
Regarding the Quality Control, I dont think you should worry. Because that is the 4th generation Buzz, and Thinkway stays ontop of QC issues, meaning that the later the series the more perfect they will be.
BUT, if there was some slopped paint on it, dont let it bother you, just know it makes the toy special. Some folks want to call and write thinkway if their toy has a TINY imperfection, which wastes Thinkways time, but their too nice to say it. However it was missing stickers, or an accessory, then its ok to mail them.

I bet you will really like the Buzz when you get it. I know I couldnt put mine down for days.

If Thinkway were to continue with the TSC into a third series who do you think they’d include?

I think Zurg and Stinky Pete are possible contenders. I was wondering about the rights of certain characters though. I think we’re very lucky to have had a film-accurate Mr.Potato Head, and that just shows the willingness of Playskool to have their character maufactured by a different toy company. I think one of the problems with getting a TSC Slinky other than the complexity of including electronics into the design, is that the rights to the toy are owned by James Industries, who first manufactured the toy in 1952.
Hamm seems to have originally been planned for released by Thinkway as seen in their possible prototype seen opposite the original prototype of Mr. Potato Head. It seems plausable that they had originally intended to update their 1995 release but the idea was later scrapped. I think a $50+ Hamm would have seemed a waste of money for most fans and electronics would have removed the function of Hamm as a piggy bank too much. Whether he will eventually be released remains uncertain…
Other possible characters include a Mrs. Potato Head to go alongside her husband, Bo Peep, and new sunnyside characters…

I had always hoped they would do the whole “gang” from Andy’s Room e.g. Woody, Buzz, Slinky, Hamm, Rex and Potato Head

What Thinkway changed is the eyebrows being separated from eachother. The eyes were always attached to the eyebrows.

Kind of off topic, but this weekend I went to my local Target store and got both Lotso and Mr. Potato Head. I was on the fence about Lotso but am so glad that i got him. He is a great addition to the collection and he is downright adorable! And it is a bonus that he smells of strawberries!

does anybody know of where I could find a good movie accurate Trixie?

No one makes one. the best out now is a very small one.

Arghhhh!

Got my disney.com order today which included Chunk, Sparks, Twitch, TSC Jessie and Potato Head and guess what? both Jessie and Potato Head were defective! Jessie’s pull-string doesn’t work in ‘try me’ mode and Mr. Potatohead doesn’t talk in ‘play’ mode with his smiling mouth. Am I doing something wrong? He still talks with his angry mouth…I don’t know what’s going on.

It’s annoying because I live overseas so to send them back for a replacement is going to be a big hassle and what if there is something wrong with the next 2? I would have expected issues from Jessie but not Potato Head

I’ve never heard of any Potato Head defect that only affected one mouth, but not the other. That sounds very odd.

Does anybody know when Bullseye will be online?

3000th post!
