Yeah it’s weird because if I push and hold his smiling mouth he will talk but if I let go he stops talking. Anyone have any idea how this feature works? Would replacing just the mouth be helpful?
I would email Thinkway (you can find their email info earlier in this thread) and ask them if they have any ideas. From all the stories I’ve read and heard, they are going the extra mile for their TSC customers.
Yeah - I’ll think I’ll do that. I’m just waiting on the Disney Store to reply first. I’ll have comparison shots of Mattel and TSC Jessie soon. Won’t be able to picture the TSC hat as I want to keep it sealed in box because I’ll have to send it back.
Okay,
It’s time for comparison shots of Toy Story Collection Jessie and the Mattel Jessie.
Here’s the two Jessies side by side.
TSC Jessie’s stand gives her a bit more height but even without it she is fractionally bigger/taller than the Mattel Jessie. Please excuse the lack of TSC Jessie hat. Haven’t taken it out as I need to return her. One of the things I noticed is that the Mattel version looks lke a younger version of Jessie…
Side by side face comparisons:
IMO the Mattel Jessie’s face screams Jessie’s personality from the movie. The TSC face doesn’t entirely feel like Jessie. I think it has something to do with the eyes. The TSC has much nicer and better quality hair.
This is the hair from the back:
The ponytail on the TSC Jessie should be the same thickness as the Mattel one. However, the ribbon is much nicer on the TSC one.
Here’s the waists:
Obviously the Mattel one got the shape right. Also the shirt design seems to be more vivid. The TSC has a shiny shirt which I never would have known she had in the movie if it weren’t for the toy.
Comparison with Woody:
Side view:
This is a view of the chaps:
The TSC one has plastic chaps. I like these a lot better because they stay in place and just have a nice leathery look to them. The Mattel one has plain cotton which kind of curves at the end which is annoying to me. I guess I could iron them…
Hat comparison:
Group shot with TSC Version:
Group shot with Mattel version:
Overall verdict. The TSC is a nicer toy because of the better quality materials. Mattel Jessie is more true to the character of Jessie from the movie. I’ll probably be displaying the TSC version because the hair is so much nicer. As everyone probably already knows, the Mattel version has much better quality control.
Perfect Jessie: Mattel face, TSC Smile, TSC hat, TSC Hair, Mattel Ponytail length and thickness, TSC Ribbon, Mattel body shape, TSC shirt, Mattel belt, TSC Chaps, TSC Jeans, Mattel Waist Shape, TSC boots and TSC voice box.
Love those comparison shots. Your right about the better quality clothing on the tsc version. I’m still gonna display my Mattel version over it though. The head sculpt is to good for it not to be on display. I’ve already modded the chaps on my version by adding a black edge to them. It looks pretty good. I will put some pics on the replica thread later.
I’m sorry if this has already been posted, I’m not sifting through 200 pages, but here is the Think way Lotso!
Lotso’s got legs, and a tutu!
The TSC Lotso scares me- those eyes, those big bulging eyes.
I really prefer the Mattel Jessie, its just how I roll.
Still waiting for a closed mouth Woody, if anyone ever makes him -Omar ![]()
Thanks for the Jessie shots, vamp-jojo!!! ![]()
I’m in love with the Mattel Jessie. The expression on her face, her waist, the fact that she’s only $12, but does she come with a pullstring and stand?
$12?! Where do they sell them for that much? Yes she has a pull-sting but she doesn’t come with a stand. The TSC stand works if you shorten it by half an inch…
I think he means the Fashion Jessie; she costs $11.95. The Mattel is a lot more, but I can’t figure out how much in Euros!!! ![]()
The Mattel Jessie is 40 euros in my local Tesco.
$12 is around 10 euros, current exchange rate.
SadStrangeLittleMan, she’s better priced at the UK Amazon store
Yes, but UK Amazon is in pounds not euros.
Sorry again…my money ruins everything. ![]()
I wonder when they will be releasing Bullseye. The only one I’ve seen is at the Disney Store priced at $25. But that is not a movie-accurate one is it?
I think its fairly accurate, it just doesn’t have as high quality materials or stitching as the TSC version. Also it doesn’t have electronics but that probably makes it more movie accurate.
Thanks vamp
Do you know where can I find the TSC version?
