The defects I heard about for the hat is the just the paint job on the white band that goes around the hat. Utility Belt Buzz also says “There’s a secret mission, in uncharted space!” unlike the other Buzz. I believe the things he says in interactive mode is also different. Jessie will be out longer then the wave 1 toys so you could just get them for now. It could be a while before you find a good quality control Jessie anyways.
Also I got my Jessie from the Disney store, I could have just been lucky, but it seemed their quality was better than Toysrus and other stores. However it’s 10 dollars more. If you haven’t got RC yet, you could go after him. He’s 60$ at target, just 10$ more than most of the TSC. He’s not that great as an actual remote control car, but he is almost perfect to the movie counterpart. RC himself is only missing the “GOGO TIRE MUD EATER(Or something like that)” on his wheels as far as I know of. The controller though doesn’t have turbo on it and has little red buttons for its different features. The antenna is too long (Since it’s the same one you put in RC), and has an inferred thing on the top. But overall, it’s very nice. Haven’t heard of any QC issues with RC. And at Target, look in the remote control cars section, that’s where I found mine. You can also check to see if they have it in stock online.
Yer, that’s what I did… after unsuccessfully pulling him out of the top of the box, I managed to pull him out the bottom. I should probable tape the tabs as well… unfortunately, there is a slight dent in the top corner, but that makes it seem like in the movie, so it’s all good
I didn’t even think to check the remote control aisle for R/C, that makes sense. Now that I remember, the first time I saw him at Target he was not with the other TSC dolls. I might have to pick him up now along with the soldiers, big day tomorrow! Hopefully I go through with it! haha
I’ll check Disney Store’s Jessie dolls for QC next time I’m there, I wouldn’t mind spending the extra money if it meant she didn’t have any defects. I need to go there anyway to pick up Hamm.
Make sure you get a Hamm with a good paint job. All of them are pretty good, but some seem a bit better. The only things you really need to check is the eyes, mouth, toes, and ears. And obviously one that isn’t chipped or something Feels like all I talk about is quality issues XD
With regards to Jessie. The main bad paint apps are the hat rim as mentioned and the lip paint. Most have real bad bleeding onto the teeth. Some so bad that the teeth are totally covered.
Most Hamms seem ok. Mine suffered from a small run on the side and uneven coverage. It looked to me as though the paint was running low on the gun. As I live in the UK there is very little I can do for a replacement.
Hadn’t had any luck finding Bullseye at the local TRU 5 minutes away from my apartment, so I made a trip to one of the ones 45 minutes away, and finally found him! One of the three they had seemed to have less of a space between his eyes and his nose/mouth piece than the other two, so I grabbed that one. It looks great, getting him out of the box right now, I’ll probably post a picture or two of him later on tonight.
Was able to choose from five Bulleyes and every one had issues. One had such a lack of stuffing in his stomach near the saddle that the material literally looked folded. One had actually stress rips on his neck and another had white paint smudges on his lower lip. Of the two I narrowed it down to, one had perfectly spaced eyes, but they were dirty on the whites, so I settled for a bit of space, but otherwise perfect. I figure I’ll keep him sealed for a week or two and see if I find anything better in the interim. I won’t hold my breath, though.
I must have gone through no less than 100 different Ken/Barbie packs over the past week at various stores before finally finding this. It was the only one of 8 on the shelf.
Didn’t even know TSC mini Lotso was out yet, so that was a great surprise. I don’t see much mention of this series here, but I love 'em. Really hard to find good paint apps, but the sculpts are perfect imo and it’s great that at least one version of Twitch and Lotso actually come with the respective staff and cane.
There was a couple there for their HUGE Toy Story 3 promotion. Before Toy Story 3, I remember RCs in stock in the remote control car section, and even a Rex. Recently, I saw some Buzzes in stock. Might’ve seen a Woody, but I don’t quite remember. I don’t remember the Bucket O’ Soldiers being there, but that probably varies on location. Due to them just being toy soldiers, I wouldn’t doubt it.
OK thanks, it’s just that I’m going to be away for 3 weeks and I won’t have access to a Toys R Us or a Target. I’ll only be able to go to a Walmart, and I really want to get a Bullseye soon. Are my chances of getting one there good?
Personally, the basic Bullseyes seem just about as rare as the TSC one. Plus, Wal-Mart definately isn’t afraid to stock up on the high-end Toy Story stuff (which includes Bullseye). The only issue would be whether it was shipped or unloaded yet, but if you’re speaking of three weeks, you’d get a definite answer. It would also be worth asking if you don’t see one.

Why on earth would they have different models and make so few of the correct ones? Wonder if Mattel just had a ton of extra standard Kens on hand and was hoping to unload him.
Attn Aussies - Myers in Sydney have the Movie version of Ken in the 2 pack as of today. Saw them in Chatswood.

AND I found the Toy Story 3 branded Barrel of Monkeys in K Mart. Yellow Barrel, 12 Red Monkeys. Plastic is much lesser quality than I rememebr as a kid and the barrel had 4 holes in the sides. Odd.
