Went to Target today and picked up the Bucket O Soldiers. They also had two R/Cs in stock but I wasn’t sure if I should get it, space being the main issue. I’m sure I will end up going back later this week to pick him up. The bucket of soldiers is pretty cool. I didn’t realize there would be so many copies of the soldiers, I definitely wasn’t expecting 7 Sarges!
I also went to the Disney Store today with the hopes of finding Hamm. No such luck! The only Hamms they had at the store were the stuffed animal ones. The place was also picked over because of the sale they were having but I don’t think he was ever there. I did end up getting an adult sized t-shirt of Toy Story. It features most of Andy’s toys: Woody, Buzz, Slinky, Jessie, Bullseye, an alien, and Hamm.
@classics4life: Bullseye was $49.99 USD and the Ken/Barbie set was $24.99. Barbie is just standard issue. There’s nothing special about the version in the 2-pk.
@frontierqueen: Good question. Your theory is the only thing that makes any sense. Either that, or they simply changed their minds after the first few batches went out. I guess we’ll see in the next coming weeks if the ratio between both versions starts leaning towards the movie accurate side.
@KayJayBee: You pretty much nailed it. It’s the exact same sculpt. Usually Con exclusives are just a variation to an already existing figure, unless the character is obscure enough to not be included in the regular line-up. Lotso is too important to only be offered exclusively at a single convention, imo. The version being offered at SDCC is not only strawberry scented, but is also flocked to look and feel more like fur. This regular version is just standard painted plastic.

The whole of wave 2 has hit Toys R Us in the UK (edit: Utiliy Belt Buzz has not, but he can be found at Tesco). I entered today on the off-chance and nearly cried when I saw from across the room a bright pink box on the Toy Story display shelf. Imagine my elation when, approaching, I see Bullseye below. I literally did a double take at how big he actually is. Huge barely begins to describe it. Four were on the shelf, none of which were flawless Mostly they were of satisfactory quality and I may have bought one then and there but I was distracted from my purchase…
…so there I was stood debating which to get, Lotso or Bullseye, and out the corner of my eye I glimps a Mr. Potato Head. Well right there my descision had been made for me… my eight month torturous wait had finally come to an end. I had found the object of my desire. I prompty scooped up a good quality Potato head and left the premises £50 lighter with a huge grin on my face and a spring in my step.
I shall return in the coming weeks to pick up both Bullseye and Lotso (then Utility Belt Buzz last of all), staggering my purchases so as not to offend my bank balance.
I’l get some pictures up of my whole collection soon for you guys. I have been spending the afternoon enjoying Mr. P who is hilariousand a fine addition to my collection (though his box was a real pain to open, I slit my fingernail open trying to undo one of his twisty ties).
Now all I eagerly await is the correctly scaled Twitch, Chunk and Sparks to reach UK shores and I’ll be content.
So when do you guys think that we’ll start seeing news or pics of Wave 3? I would think that they’d want to have them out before the holidays, as the DVD and bluray would just have come out and then holiday sales would boost their numbers as well.
booh88- I can relate to you with the bank balance! Ideally I would love to buy two of the TSC toys at a time but I never want my bank account to show such a huge withdrawal and I space out my purchases. I almost walked out of Target the other day with R/C and Bucket o Soldiers, but decided to just go with the bucket since they were much cheaper.
I don’t know about Wave 3, my guess is maybe at the end of this month or August.
Claw, I was really excited when I called The Entertainer in Westfield Shopping Centre today and was told that TSC Jessie was in stock. This excitement was swiftly crushed when I found 4 Jessie’s on the shlef, each with one or more of the defects you described before.
Lip-tone painted teeth, whites of the eyes extending over her face, poorly applied white strip on the hat, mis-aligned buttons, the yellow design on her shirt being wonky, poorly arranged hair. It was all pretty bleak. One even had a patch on her sleeve which appeared to be bleached. I asked the staff to check the stock room for more dolls but only more was in stock and it had the same issues.
Hopefully when the Disney Store get them in they may be of better quality.
Also for UK collectors, I was told by Disney Store staff today that, at least in the Westfield shop, all of the Toy Story 3 products will be in by July 6th. Just days to wait!
EDIT - I’ve also looked through several Barbie and Ken double packs in the Disney Store and also John Lewis and I can’t find an accurate headed one as yet…
The UK disneystore site has had the TSC items in for some time now, i got my TSC Buzz, Woody and LE Jessie from the disneystore.co.uk website.
The other TSC items are sold on amazon.co.uk for a bit cheaper than the disney store sell them, and Amazon.com if you need to import.
I checked my local tru today and all of the Jessie’s were awful. I was at Smyths last week when I got Bullseye and Lotso and all of the Jessie’s there were rubbish. It’s really beyond the joke now. Jessie is the last figure I need for completion. I display my Mattel one anyway but I want a complete set.
With luck the Disney stores will have Twitch and co soon. Can’t wait.
Cactuar, the TSC has pretty much been out of stock in London Disney Stores since Christmas. They have had the Bucket of Soldiers, the odd Buzz and RC but apart from that nothing else. I’ve been checking almost daily as I’m still waiting to get Rex after passing the opportunity at Xmas as The Disney Store have always told me that when it’s on the website it will more than likely turn up in the shop.
As for ordering online, I wouldn’t chance it with the TSC again having seen those Jessie dolls today. Having said that I got both my RC and Buzz from Amazon and both were fine apart from Buzz’s scratched helmet but thats common to all of them. There just seems to be too many issues with Jessie.
Seeing her first hand today I feel really lucky to have found such a good Woody last year. I will keep searching the London toy stores for a perfect Jessie and will be sure to let you all know if I find a good batch anywhere.
Also if anyone fancies a cheaper RC, the freewheel version has turned up in The Entertainer too.

Hey, is there a place I can get a doll stand of woody? I don’t like the one he came with since it falls over and makes indents in his neck.
Go onto Google and type in “Doll Stand” you can buy them online from loads of places, and you can get cheap ones for about $2, Just make sure you measure the distance from wood’s feet, to under his arms, that’ll be what size doll stand you want. (13 inches if i remember correctly, but you may wanna measure yourself)

If you already checked in and they dont have any, then try ringing them and asking if they can order one in for you.
Or use GOOGLE and search for another shop, or just buy one online.
