Jessie is the most disappointing one I own so far, even though mine seems to be a step above many others Ive seen. they made her waist too thick. a lot of people seem bothered by the head sculpt, but not me. the only issues I have with her are
Her hairline isnt quite right, and her pony tail is way too thick. and she has a bit of a bald spot on the back of her head near her neck. it seems like yarn hair is hard to translate in the real world. they cheat in the movies when they make her ponyhtail as skinny and tapered off at the end like it is. some have managed to address this by thinning it out, making her pony tail smaller. Im not sure I have the guts to take a pair of scissors to her just yet…
Eyes, her iris and pupils to be specific are a tad too large.
Shirt is shiny satin instead of plain white cotton.
Needs to loose weight. Her voice box/motion sensors made her torso too wide. Speaking of voice box, many say it doesn’t sound like Joan Cusack. I’m not so sure myself…
Some here suggest the Mattel one as an alternative, but for the problems they address, they have other things I don’t like. So yeah, I still say the TSC is the better one, but this is about preference. Both have pros and cons.
As for Bullseye, the only problem with him is that he is a tad too large (though some still debate this) and his eyes are a bit too far apart, possibly a bit too high. other than that he’s perfect.
I tried TRU today because the manager said that they might have Bullseye today. However, they DIDN’T! They keep telling me days they’ll have him and when I check they don’t. It’s starting to piss me off because I don’t want to have to resort to buying it from online but I guess it’s what I’ll have to do and I don’t want one with QCi issues.
he’s definitely worth it I would grab him, I have that one and my brother owns the utility belt version (so did I but why have two so I exchanged it) and think about it wouldn’t a diorama be just epic with a zurg TSC or the encounter in Al’s toy barn b/w him and the original…think about it and do it fast they ar eflying off shelves here and the QC is decent just watch for junky left wings
The pictures Kyle posted are mine. I have to apologize as I had to choose from 2 Bullseyes in the store and this one was the better of the two. I’m currently trying to align his eyes now. But I still love him!
True Jessie’s waist is way to thick but could it be that Thinkway toys and Pixar might have done it on purpose ???
The same way Mattel had to make Barbie’s waist thicker after Barbie’s shapely figure came under fire by feminists and eventually forced Mattel to give Barbie a thicker waist size change in 1997.!:shake:
I don’t think they’re so much lying just that they don’t know the difference between TSC and TS3 even when I specifically say “Toy Story Collection.” And I think next month would be a good idea too because I might have to wait that long anyway
Doubtful. I mean, for one this isn’t comparable to Barbie since Jessie is based on an existing movie design. they have no reason to change the design. its not like she’s busty or anything, so there’s nothing to tone down. she’s just a petite cowgirl, not a role model like people think of of Barbie as. and most other Jessies (even from Mattel, barbies maker) are much thinner.
I’m almost certain it was due to the voice box an casing that holds the motion sensors. There’s isn’t even much if any stuffing in her torso. and you’ll notice that if you turn the voice box on its side you’ll get a thinner waist so its not impossible to get it looking decent from the front. Of course this gives her a hunchback of sorts but there is potential there I think for any moders that want to attempt to alter her a bit. I think simply cutting out the voice box and replacing it with stuffing could get her looking pretty good. Im just not willing to do that. The thought has crossed my mind though…
Yeah your probably right about the Jessie waist thing. I guss im just thinking way to much into it lol I just thought about what happend to Barbie dolls waist and what John Lasseter.did with the short film Knick Knack where he changed the girl and the mermaid in the fish bowls shapely figures saying later “It wasn’t big bad Disney coming in and insisting we do this … it was our own choice. It was just crossing the line for me personally as a father. So I made the decision to reduce (these characters” but your right its more likely do to an over sized voice box. I was thinking about making changes to her but thought it best to keep her in as mint conditions as possible
Lotso’s scent is very strong and powerful when u first take him out of the box. What ever room you put him in will start to smell of strawberries in mins but yes after a few day the only way to smell the strawberries is to just hold him up to your nose. im hoping the smell dosent go away completely in a few years because then he wouldent be very movie accurate seeing that even when he got wet finding his way to Sunnyside he never lost his smell according to Rex lol
