Thinkway's Toy Story Collection

Nothing has been announced as of yet but if there is a wave 3 then I can’t see why they wouldn’t include Stinky Pete.

There’s gold in them ther hills. (several sources say ther, but Yosemite Sam used to say thar)

Help! I think I’m stuck!

Aw, Shuck-a-roo!

Oh boy!.. Beans for dinner.

That’s it for the box, but it does say there’s more.

LOL my personal favorite

the thing is, there are two versions of the prospector personality.

Lotso merely has two sides. he’s warm and freindly when you first meet him, and his toy mode reflects this.

With the prospector you’d have potentially 3. the crazy Woodys round up goofball, the nice humble old man, then the evil side we see later in TS2.

They could do the same as they did with Lotso in showing only the good side of his real personality. ignoring the side that turns on woody and the gang. as well as have his crazy built in persona.

As for the pick axe, as much as I want to see it, Im not exactly expecting it. safety issues probably prevent this. I’ll be happy if we get the prospector at all. we can always make our our own axe if we really want.[/quote

The pix axe doesn’t have to be sharp
btw your default pic is giving me the shivers kyle

Hi guys, I’m new here, just bought the TSC Woody doll. I came across this thread when doing some research before buying it, and I have to say, I think it was Kyle’s photos that finally convinced me to buy him  The way you pose and light the toys, they just look almost freakily lifelike. (Which is… kind of a funny thing to say about characters that are supposed to be toys in the first place, but you know :stuck_out_tongue:) A couple of your shots, it actually took me a couple seconds to square that they weren’t film stills.

Anyway, while I’m really happy with the doll—feels just like I have the real Woody, to the extent that it felt almost EERIE pulling him out of the packaging—I was wondering about a couple things. When you hold him so that his limbs dangle naturally, his left foot twists almost 90 degrees out to the left (the boot isn’t attached lopsided or anything—the whole leg twists gradually from the knee down) and his right palm faces back and slightly outward, instead of in toward his body like the left hand. Just natural variance, or would you guys consider it on the level of a defect? It makes him a little more difficult to pose, but he doesn’t look deformed or anything. The outward-facing foot even gives him kind of a cowboy stance, I guess :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh yeah, and the Woody’s Roundup box really doesn’t look 50’s in design at all, but it’s faithful to the movie in that regard. My one beef with the film was how none of the Woody’s Roundup print images looked 50’s at all, yet the TV show was so hilariously on the nose.

I’m a 36 year old Toy Story fan and I’m so happy to have ran across this site! I went to see TS 3 back at the end of June and re-fell in love with the movies all over again! My cousin, who ironically wasn’t too far off Andy’s age in the movies, saw them together and she literally grew up with the TS toys the way Andy did in the movies. What was also a bit if irony was how many of Andy’s toys she actually had BEFORE the movie… she had the radio (that exact one!), the barrel of monkeys, Mr. Potato Head, Rex (though it may have not lookex exactly like TS Rex, and the squeaky shark as well as some others. I also had a meager TS toy collection from the first two films that consisted of a couple of the Burger King toys and such, but it’s all shoved somewhere into a storage building in the back yard and I don’t know if I could even find them, sooo I’m starting over! My favorite character is Buzz Lightyear. I’ve bought the Disney Story Toy Story 3 version of Buzz off ebay and was for the most part satisfied. I really want to get the Toy Story Collection Buzz! I also like the ultimate (robotic) Buzz, but think it’s a bit of overkill to purchase something like that right now. I’m so happy to find a place where people appreciate the movies and the toys as much as I do! I look forward to hanging around and reading more!

After weeks of searching for TSC Bullseye in stores I’ve decided to go ahead and risk ordering him from the disney store despite qc issues. I’ll keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best. I’ll let you guys know how he is when he arrives.

I know this isn’t exactly a TSC question, but I’ll ask it here. Is it worth it to order a Disney Store Hamm online, or are there QC issues?

there are some QC issues with Hamm, mainly in the gloss. its not evenly applied. most seem to have it on the head but run out on the body. There might also be some random scuff marks. Nothing I saw was too bad, but none I saw were perfect either. I’m satisfied with mine though, and I’m hard to please. I might look into adding more gloss later.

I think I would be confident enough to buy online, though its always nice to see it in person if possible.

My Woody has this exact same problem, and because of it, whenever I move him, the spur on the leg that is facing outward hits the side of his other leg, making the paint on the spur chip off. :frowning:

Thanks, sounds like I’ll have to visit a Disney Store and pick out my own.

I ordered the hamm bank from the disney store online and didn’t have any problems. I didn’t have the chance to see him in the store, but the packaging alone would cause me to order him again because of the effort involved. He shipped inside a cardboard box, that had another cardboard carton inside with bubble wrap, that had a styrophome carton inside of that, that had a perfect mold that encased the hamm inside of the package, which is nice because I can hide it from my 2 year old until she is old enough to enjoy it.

Nicest packaging I have ever had.

had some issues with my hamm that i ordered from the disney store. there were some chips in the resin, and part of his feet were chipped, leaving it discolored. might try to get paint one of these days and fix it. the packaging was good, so i was glad i didn’t have to worry about that. i agree with kyle about the gloss though. it seems like it just kind of tapers off towards hamm’s backside. i’m kind of anal, so these little things did somewhat bother me but in actuality they’re not really that big of a deal.

plus, as far as i know, it seems like most disney stores aren’t stocking these anymore, so i assume it would be much easier to just order online. and also, i think when these are in-store, they remove them from the packaging and place them on shelves, which seems like they’d be more prone to damage from kids picking them up and people generally not caring like collectors do to keep the items in good condition

I had huge problems with the Hamm i ordered from the disney store. I was so excited to get him because Hamm is my favorite Toy Story character. Anyway, he arrived very nicely shipped and looked to be very carefully wrapped. I take him out of his styrofoam casing to find he has a very deep crack under his mouth going almost all the way up tp his snout. I think he was like this before they shipped him. I was deeply upset and looked at their return policy. It said they would replace him but I would have to pay for shipping. I calculated the cost of shipping and it was almost as much as what I payed for him. I ended up keeping him and I tried my best to fill the cracks with mighty puddy and then went to the craft store to get an inexpensive paint that resembled his color. Long story short he dosn’t look great but he looks much better than what he did. (sorry for the long post)

the thing about ordering him online is you pretty much have to hope for luck of the draw. i was so excited when mine came in but as soon as i opened him i realized he had a butt load of scuffs on his right side. i tried everything to gte them off but nothing works. ive learned to just live with it because its not terrible but just a big let down. ill hopefully buy some matching paint in the near future to fix him up.

So as usual, Woody got the stress marks in his neck, even after the replacement clamp from Thinkway. So I let him retract a little on the shelf. Bad move. He fell down in the middle of the night to scare the everloving crap out of me.

You thought the clamp was faulty? they all do that. I tell everyone, don’t use it. the thing wasnt even made for this doll, but instead a room guard. they recycled it.

where would i be able to find a better stand for woody?

I am very confused when u guys say EMAIL JENNY AT THINKWAY FOR A REPLACEMENT. How does that work? do u just email and say my Buzz’s arm broke could u send me another arm or another toy?
Does Jenny need proof of the toy being broken so she can send u a replacement?

Doll stands work pretty well, you can get them at Michaels or a craft store…although i don’t remember the stand size for woody…13 inches? kyle or one eye bart should know

It depends on what your replacing. If you wanted an entirely new buzz, theyd probably require proof.
