Yeah Man it was rough spending that much on him but I think it was worth it. I never knew they had a hamm availiable until i came on this site. Yeah anyone who got him for $20 is lucky including you, and can easily make some good money on selling extras.
I did a raincheck lay-by on Jessie when Target had their sale for $50. Should I have a go at getting it for $60 from Myer now? I haven’t actually paid any money toward the raincheck, so I might not get it.
I also rain-checked Jessie, but I didn’t want to take the risk that Target wouldn’t get in any stock or that the Jessie which they allocated to me would be poor quality (as I’ve seen some Jessie figures with terrible quality control), so I personally paid the extra few dollars to take my pick of the limited stock of Jessie which were available at Myer.
As it is, the Jessie which I chose isn’t perfect - notably due to the silver paint on her white shirt, but it’s better than no Jessie (although comparing the Mattel Jessie and the Thinkway Jessie side-by-side, I was tempted to just grab the Mattel Jessie - pretty much everything was better on the Mattel Jessie, but I didn’t like the super-wide grin which looked more like an “alive” Jessie than a “toy” Jessie).
All IMHO of course. Good luck if you do decide to try and track-down a Jessie at Myer. They were selling well at $100.00 each, so I’m guessing they’re going to go pretty quickly at almost half-price.
Wow, that’s crazy. Why aren’t they making anymore? I got one of the last ones direct from Disneystore.com but after shipping and import charges I didn’t pay much less for mine! He seems pretty tough but I fear that one of my kids may break him. I really hope there’s a Hamm in wave 3.
My postman just delivered a Mr Mike and a yellow Barrel of Monkeys. Gotta love ebay!!!
True… Same reason it took me so long to get my Bullseye. Luckily for me they did release more of those.
I’d like to think that if I had bought up a bunch of those, I would have let everyone on here know that I had them and sell them for the regular store price + shipping. However, seeing people selling them off for such high amounts would make it really tempting to do the same.
From one perspective, it’s just smart business sense… but on a more personal level, would I want to be that greedy guy who potentially keeps some kid (or loyal Pixar fan like myself) from getting a Hamm to complete their collection? Not really… but it is tempting.
Yeah, I see what you’re saying, and I don’t blame you. I collect Club Penguin toys, and any time someone on eBay orders a bunch of a chase figure, making them sold out, and selling them for 3 times the price, it pisses me off. However whenever the opportunity comes up for me to do so, I’m always at least tempted to. Like you said, it’s smart for business, but you wouldn’t want to be the person on the other side.
All good cowboys and spacemen toys say NO to scalping!
Of course, the purchasers also have a role to play. If people weren’t willing to pay $100.00 for Disney Store Hamm on Evil-Bay, then the sellers wouldn’t be selling them for $100.00 on Evil-Bay. It’s the viscious circle of collecting toys!
Oh Yes! I can’t tell you how long I stood at Toys R Us examining various TSC Jessies making sue I got a good one. Many of them had bad painting on the eyes. The white part of their eyes constantly smeared onto a bit of her cheeks and just looked bad. And then, the one I DID buy though didn’t have eye issues, ended up with misaligned buttons
Well… I think I’m running out of luck at my local Target, I haven’t seen one TSC figure, only the Playtime… Which worries me. Cause I’d love to get some TSC figures, should I try Toys R Us?
Still fresh in the box from Amazon. I was so relieved when I saw that it had none of the neck or eye problems.
My old Bullseye compared to my old Japanese one. I wanted the Bullsyes to trade stands, but the TSC one is to big to fit in the other one. Which sucks, becasue I think the TSC stand isnt that good for supporting it.
Next buys (In this order): Jessie, Aliens, Lotso, Twitch, Chunk, Sparks, Slinky.
Then I will be done buying toys until maybe Christmas time. (Or when the Hasbro Potato Heads come out…)
To end my post, I ask this question:
What should I do with my old Bullseye? Keep it for nostalgic value (Ive had him for 10 years) or sell for some big bucks?
I am new to the forum. Have come across this in the last day whilst searching for info on the Toy Story Collection. These are such an amazing collection.
Myself, I have now quite a lot of the collection. Started off with replacing my old Buzz with a new one and then stumbled across the rest.
I love Disney so love to collect , may seem a bit old at 22 but never too young for Disney!
As for my collection I have:
Buzz
Woody
Jessie
Bullseye
Mr Potato Head
Rex
RC
Lotso
Bucket O Soldiers
Would go for the Aliens but not impressed with the price and some of dodgy paint jobs on them I have seen. There are always scratches on them, and not up for spending another £50 on a Buzz for the utility belt as cool as it may be!
I say keep Bullseye. But if you do decide to sell him, dont do what that one guy on ebay does and make it a huge price. Make it affordable so that someone else can have him and enjoy him. Maybe for their kid.
If he can sell it an a high price, more power to him. As long as he’s not hoarding them I don’t see what the moral issue would be. as has been pointed out, if people weren’t willing to pay top dollar for these things they wouldn’t list them that high. no reason to take less if people are willing to pay more. unless maybe you know the buyer on a more personal level. like maybe the buyer posts here, or if it’s a family member or friend.
