Trust me, it becomes a real issue. Look at the jolly chimpo for example, so many wont work anymore because batteries leaked and ruined the battery compartment.
Thank you so much you guys! Specially @ slink who showed a video link thank you so very much!! Now i know which is the right trixie to get! Anyway @ Toystory21 i am not forcing nor telling you to do so, but for us who has already had an experience of batt leak and totally destroys my batt compartment, for me its not worth keeping it NIB ( New in Box) instead its much more better if you just keep it MIB ( Mint in Box) coz like i said before most buyers specially me i like to buy rare ones but still in working condition. Coz my reason is its not worth keeping if its not working even if its rare. now you know, you still have the final decision
I always thought MIB meant NIB lol Like I said before I don’t know yet if I will sell them or not. To me the box is artwork and the way it’s displayed inside is what I want to preserve as well. I appreciate your suggestion but right now I don’t plan on opening them simply to remove the batteries. Can’t wait to see your collection though.
Guys, stop trying to persuade him to remove the batteries. Let him learn the hard way. Besides, I invested a few dollars on triples that I plan to resell in a distant future. When the time comes to sell my extras, his toys wont compete against mine, because since I removed the batteries on my investment I will be able to list them and guarantee that they will work. If he ever tries to sell them, he will be risking a negative feedback and a paypal-return case opening. On the other hand, if he gives them to his kids, they might end up sad and disappointed that they don’t work, and he might end up re-buying them in working order for his kids down the road.
Veteran collectors know that keeping the batteries inside them is a stupid decision. To begin with, the batteries inside are not high-quality. You wont see no duracell or energizer inside them, but cheaply made batteries you never heard-off from third-world countries designed to last just enough until the toy is actually purchased at a retail store. In fact, the batteries are so cheap and the manufacturers are aware of that, that they build the toys with a DEMO feature to prevent the batteries for corroding before they are sold nationwide. The DEMO function is made exclusively to preserve the cheap battery life. The manufacturers know they are playing with fire by reducing costs on cheap inexpensive batteries, but since they are in for the highest profit they created this DEMO feature that is designed to prevent battery damage to the toy while it spends his usually short shelf life on a retail store.
Let him live and learn. Let him learn for his own mistakes while others profit for his ignorance.
… A little aggresive dont you think?
I would prefer calling it: “tough love”.
My thoughts exactly
That’s a bit much…
Thank you, but we’re not pursuading him we where just simply giving him an ADVICE and its still up to him if he will take it or not
@ toystory21
Dont worry ill try to post the pics of my toy story collection next week its just that im a little busy this week
Personally as long as u don’t wreck the box when taking them
Out then they will be just as valuable as if they have never been opened
Just to get a discussion back going on this thread.
- What do you do to your TSC boxes? Do you keep them, throw them out, how do you store them?
-Does your TSC Lotso still smell like strawberries?

My Lotso still smells like Strawberries, but only on his belly. No wear else.
