Thinkway's Toy Story Collection

Cheers buddy, sorry it’s taken so long N working on a Flickr account and will let u know when it’s all up . Hopefully weekend.

Awesome!

kenshin0815 - Thanks for the info. I’ll have to check out those photos soon! Let’s see… to reply:

  • As for Trixie, I’m thinking of waiting on her; I figure that they’ll eventually make one, considering the Toy Story and dinosaur-related obsessions with kids (and Pixar-obsessed young women like myself). Although I am curious if the build-a-Trixie is on-scale with my non-TSC Rex, which is apparently smaller than I realized until just recently.
  • Yeah, I’d really like Mr. Pricklepants at some point, but I have no idea if those could be bought on Amazon.com or not… either way, I’m not in a rush to buy him yet; I’m aiming at one of the “Toy Trio” (Woody, Buzz, and Jessie) at the moment.
  • I am glad the TSC Buttercup is movie-size. I just want to make sure that he’s as cute as he is accurate, and I know it’s tricky to get a soft object to resemble a CG version. I collect a lot of plush toys and I’m a wee bit picky about them. I’ll have to think about it. Some comparison photos would be helpful.
  • I’m not in any rush to get the Potato Heads yet, either, mostly because I am hoping and hoping for a TSC Mrs. But I’m interested in seeing what your version of Mrs. Potato Head looks like.
  • Wheezy isn’t smiling?! I might not end up getting one then. But then again, I really don’t know what Wheezy looks like in the movies when he’s not alive. Wheezy isn’t an absolute must, but I definitely want to find out more… and I’m not sure I’m willing to give up a lot of cash for a squeaky toy, even if I adore the character.
  • Sorry for the confusion… I figured it might happen. The LGMs are actually the squeaky aliens; LGM is a term coined in the Buzz Lightyear of Star Command series that stands for Little Green Men. Ever since I got into watching that show I always call them LGMs for some reason… and it occured to me that LGMs is also not a grammatically correct term :stuck_out_tongue:
  • I did know there was a Bo doll on eBay, and I hope to find a decently-priced version of her someday. Or at least I hope and hope and hope that they’ll make a TSC one!
    Anyway, thanks again!
And yay, 500 pages! Blows party horn

@ Draik re Storage/Display

Personally, I would save my money, wait for a sale and then buy one or more of these from Ikea:

ikea.com/au/en/catalog/products/90182171/

I think I’ve seen them down to $80.00 for a “limited time only” sale. If you sign up for Ikea’s “family” newsletter, you may also get notification of extra discounts.

I bought my wall shelves from IKEA as well lol

offthread :frowning: sorry btw here’s mine http://image.tradevv.com/2008/03/24/chixiang_253318_600/glass-display-cabinet.jpg

The problem is that I live 2+ hours away from the nearest IKEA (Homebush), so petrol would be $100ish to get there and back. But that’s a very nice-looking display case. :astonished:

I only need something temporary for the time being - I’ll be (finally) going to university next year after this “gap” year that basically consists of working and working some more, so for the first year when I’m on-campus I’m going to have to leave everything at home.
Newcastle kicks you off campus in your second year, so I guess I’ll be able to migrate everything to my apartment and hopefully get a permanent display case set up.
Whoa, that felt ridiculously grown up. :open_mouth:

Anyway, back on-topic, I finally cracked and bought a TSC Lotso from Amazon UK. It worked out to be $70 all up including shipping, which is about $30 cheaper than buying him on eBay.

I’m bidding on a vintage 1960’s Chatter Telephone and Jolly Chimp as well, so by the looks of it I’ve finally started to focus on collecting the Sunnyside toys. 8D

wow that’s not off thread it has to do with displaying your tsc, and you also added to it by telling us which one you bought so your comment was unnecessary

…he wasnt blaming it on you dude he was just saying it was off topic. chill :sunglasses:

I’m cool dude :sunglasses: and he was directing it at me hence quoting me and the small apology he made right after nevertheless my post was meant to clarify myself and to point out the small hypocrisy on his part.

Well, I settled on a new display case!
I eventually went with this one in the chocolate, because it’s the same design as my actual bookcase so now they match!
It was a little pricey compared to some of the other ones I was looking at, but I love how it has adjustable shelves so I can make the top two a little smaller leaving plenty of room for Totoro on the bottom.

I’ll get a picture of it tomorrow when it’s not night time, but I’m extremely impressed at how it looks.
