COMPARE. The legs mainly. Far too short on the collection Woody.Thats the most noticable inaccuracy. Then the body just looks way more ‘slumped’ than the actual character. The body’s just a little too small, and the legs are too short.
And don’t have a fit whenever I say something negative. Seriously. The attitude of some folk here is ridiculous. Pretty unwelcoming tbh.
Kyle is right the legs are barely off. All other proportions are perfect. Tilius if you don’t have the Woody doll you shouldn’t be agruing with people that actually have it.
Hah, my memory of the old doll was that it was like spot-on. Hah! But yeah, the legs annoy me when these are being advertised as exact replicas. Ah well. I’m the kind of guy who likes Hot Toys figures of the Joker and such, where the detail is incredible. That’s what I want for Toy Story, but these don’t quite deliver.
I wasn’t arguing. I was saying that I don’t think the proportions are right, not in a EVERYONE ELSE IS WRONG fashion, but in a ‘Can someone clear this up for me?’ fashion. Sheesh. Besides, I’m still right that the legs are off.
Seriously, WHY are so many people here so confrontational? It’s ridiculous. Just calm down!
Yeah, who’s being confrontational? I’m just trying to understand your issues with it, and illustrate any differences. I’d like to think I have a good eye for all kinds of things, but I’m always open to being wrong and want to know when I am. of course, some things being off will bother some more than others, its all about how we perceive them. You just seem to think the proportions are more off than we do.
I’m just incredibly picky. It was just the way I was said to be ‘arguing’ that makes me look like just a troublemaker, when I’m just saying that the toy isn’t as spot-on as they say it is. It’s the leg thing. Just personal pickiness.
Picky is my middle name. (or maybe its Robert…I dunno)
People are constantly telling me I’m picky to a fault. I often have to tone that part of me down to avoid getting everyone upset at me. We’re perfectionists, but its a good idea to try and stay realistic, as nothing in this world is truly perfect.
Yes their being marketed as replicas, but can you blame them? they did put effort into it, cant really deny that. allowing a toy maker access to digital data for reference is evidence of that. I’m sure their aware they didn’t get everything exactly right, but would they put "Film replica, well almost kinda sorta…you gotta give us props for trying right? " in press releases and whatnot? they have to make the distinction that these are far more accurate than any previous toy story line, hands down. and their doing it the best way they know how.
I’m OK with some of the inaccuracies in the Toy Story Collection figures (like Woody having an open mouth smile or the Space Aliens not squeaking or Rex’s jaw being fixed or even Mr. Potatohead having fused eyes instead of two seperate eyes… although that last one doesn’t make much sense.) It’s better than not getting those figures at all.
However, what I still can’t fathom is why there’s NO Hamm… apparently they’ve got John Ratzenberger as a speaker at the event for goodness sakes but no Hamm figure for him to show off. The man’s voiced a character in every Pixar movie thus far and his very first character gets no love from Thinkway? I just don’t get it. Ticks me off…
I wasn’t planning on getting any toy after Woody and Buzz but then I saw the picture of Bullseye and he definitley is PERFECT! Every detail about Bullseye is dead on! I’m amazed!
That’s very strange, because I just checked, and mine does.
Tilius, I just checked, and the TSC Woody’s legs are actually much closer to the movie Woody’s legs than they look in the comparison Kyle posted. This is because the stand that holds the TSC Woody up is a bit too short, which makes his knees bend and his legs appear more bulky because they bulge out. When his legs are allowed to hang loose, they are very close to being as skinny as the movie Woody’s legs.
