Too bad the pegs of his parts aren’t smooth like in the movies, but it doesn’t bother me too much, since I wont be displaying him with his parts off anyway.
Still no news about his legs, although the boxed one looks like he has shorter “legs,” so could this be a clue that the legs can be pushed in?
thats a good sign also theres something that says “With Part popping action” (In Play Mode)" Does that mean theres a mode where he just stands there doing nothing?
The eyes are one piece…is this not a major flaw for a ‘collectors edition’ product? 'Cause it looks barely anything like the one in the movie…
Same goes for Woody - his proportions are completely wrong. I don’t want inaccurate talking toys, I want near-enough spot-on replicas with good articulation and no talkingness tbh. Oh well.
Yeah, it does appear to be that way…hopefully you can push it in even further, though I suspect if we want it to look correct we may have to do some modifiying, like taking it apart, and sawwing off a quarter inch or whatever. overall, Mr.p might need quite a bit of custom work, but at least the foundation is there.
the non smooth pegs dont bother me much either. these new ones are probably more functional than smooth would have been. probably allows it to stay in place without being too snug. it needs to pop out easily, but not too easily.
I agree. Also, it looks kind of strange that he has two eyes connected and on the picture on the box right next to him, you see a picture of Mr. Potato Head with two separate eyes. Is it that hard to make the “authentic replica” with two separate eyes? I also hope that his eyebrows are separate from his eyes.
Just be glad he has two holes. because this means we can buy/make our own eyes without needing to patch a single hole, and drill two others. I’m actually relieved he still has two holes as we first saw in the commercial. I had a feeling that maybe that was just a prototype, that the final might only have one, but thankfully its still two.
I agree it is odd that the holes and eye pegs don’t match up, but having two holes is more important than having the them match up. obvious I’d prefer separated eyes, but they probably save a ton of money by doing this.
Once again, explain whats off about his proportions, we’ve asked you before but youve given us no answer. the only problems with woody are his facial expression, and mintor details here and there. his proportions are spot on as far as I can tell. your the only one who seems to think otherwise.
Ah, thanks, been looking for a decent (recent) pic of her.
Looks like her face sculpt has improved, Its less square now. My main gripe now is that she’s still looking chunky around the waist. I bet its that bulky voice box that forced them to do that.
Would you say that her headsculpt is spot-on now? Because I still feel like something’s a bit off in the face… Maybe it’s just because the hat is on wrong (should be tipped back more to look accurate) and it’s making shadows on her face… The boxed (hatless) Jessie’s face looks much better to me in that pic.
Looks like her chin is too far forward, kinda like when she says " say that again" during the “if the boot fits” part of toy story 2. its like she’s sarcastically smiling, with a bit of anger in there. not sure if that makes any sense.
Edit: Also, the hats for both Woody and Jessie are a hard thing to photograph Ive found. in the movie they sit higher up on the head than they do in the real world. its not a fault of the toys I don’t think, its just in the movies they don’t follow gravity’s rules as much as they should. this can be fixed though by stuffing the hat with a bit of foam or something. and lighting it just right. conventions aren’t the place to do that, but I’m sure in my hands she’ll photograph pretty well with or without her hat.
Wow! Didn’t know there was a collection Jessie planned…very cool. She looks pretty nice to me, her face is decently accurate. Also, glad the hair is yarn, that’s the only throw-back on the other one.
Yeah, I know what you mean, I think you’re right. Still looks decent though.
Mr. Potato Head also looks surprisingly decent, even with all our gripes. I can only imagine how much better he’d look with custom work. I really hope the customizer you referred to can not only make separate eyes, but also separate eyebrows (with some sort of magnets or something), since that would greatly increase the number of expressions one could make with the toy.
