Well, Thinkway hasn’t responded to my email regarding Hamm yet and It doesn’t look like they’re going to. I’d say it’s safe to assume that we’re getting a movie accurate Hamm toy in some form though given that we saw the prototype in that pic. Mrs. Potato Head’s going to be a bit problematic though. My Toy Story setup won’t feel complete without her. Kyle, in regards to your friend who will be sculpting the separated eyes for Mr. Potato Head- do you think he would be at all willing to do a run of film accurate Mrs. Potato Head parts for use on the TSC Mr. Potato Head body? I say the TSC version because the regular Hasbro potato body’s proportions are off a bit.
Maybe, I’ll have to ask him. I’m sure he could do it, I’m just not sure it would be worth it for him. As it is, he’s not looking to really profit from these, that’s why he’s looking to only make a small number, and for dirt cheap. But I think he has other (toy story related) projects higher on his priority.
I could probably live without Mrs. Potato Head since I always liked Mr. Potato Head more, and judging from my collection so far I seem to be building it off of the characters from the original film. The Mrs. Potato Head that’s out now looks awful compared to the film, but the one for Mr. Potato Head has always looked close enough to me even before they’ve made the new one. Really the only distinctive thing about him in Toy Story is the red lips that they gave him.
I disagree about Mr potato head. I remember seeing him in the Disney store in the 90s thinking “what the heck? Did the toy makers even watch this movie? This is Not Mr potatohead.”
I totally agree!
Also with regard to the red lips my Pototo Head has red lips. I got a mouth that was pretty close from the Pototo Head Bar at DownTown Disney in Orlando and but the lips were purple so I painted then with acrylic paint and they look brilliant! Just a shame about the golf ball eyes and lack of brows and the noses which are plain wrong. Also on the subject of pototoe heads the new ones are horrid compare to the Buzz Lightyear pars I got from the Pototo Head Bar. I’ll try and post some pics later.
A friend of mine tweeted a link to some sweet pics of the artwork behind the Toy Story movies…I found Bo Peep in this pic…and I was just curious…is this from TS3 toys? or from a TS2 series? If it IS from TS2 then I must have missed out…I hope they at least release her again for the new movie…

the other photos are definitely worth checking out too…enjoy
[EDIT] so sorry, didn’t see there was another topic about the artwork, and consequently Bo Peep. I apologize for posting about something already there.
Anyone who still needs a Rex, Amazon has him for 49.99 with Free Shipping, which makes it cheaper than at Sam’s website, and cheaper than anywhere else that I’ve seen.
Rex went back up to $56.99.
The ones I want the most is Bullseye and Potato Head so I can wait until Rex goes on sale.
Edit: At least RC went down $10 but I don’t see myself buying him anytime soon.
it went back up Already? uggghh. I was going to pounce on that too.
Hey a thought occured, remember a while back the disscusion we were having about how we could make a more definite buzz( That was this forum right?) and we were talking about buzzs arm sockets not being as posable as in the movie? well what if they made the black arm socket thing around the shoulder able to rotate seperetly from the, i mean since we can’t make it rubber, does any one else think this might work i myself am still not to sure.
I agree. I think in the movie, even when Buzz is in his Toy state, those are suppsoed to move. It looks like those black things are moved in the “Strange things” part when Andy pretends to shoot Woody with Buzz’s Lazer. They really should have been able to move.
I believe the black things are used to hide the fact that the shoulder pops out of its socket. So yes, it would be possible to get more articulation out of his arms this way, but it would involve more than simply having them rotate on their own axis. there would need to a way for the shoulder balls to expand outwards as well. I do believe its possible, but far too expensive. too many moving parts, but still possible.
theres still a fair amount of cheating though, you cant deny the clipping often seen.
oh yeah, the amout of cheating was crazy. but it was well done so its not noticable unless you look for it. The perfect example is this lazer fireing buzz figure I saw in target. hes in the lazer firing pose and his arms are almost off his body and are too long. it dosnt look bad though. it looked the same in the movies. its funny when you realize how much they had to alter Buzz to go into certain poses. try to make the TSC buzz fire his own lazer…
Yeah I’ve been thinking about something like this too. It’s definitely possible and could work well, but I guess it’s too much work to put into a mass market toy that already retails for at least $50. I wish there was an easy way someone could do it.
So do we have a release date on Lotso yet?
Hi does anybody know what toys are in the Wave 2 series
the ones i know about from reading the forums are
1- Mr. Potatohead
2- Bullseye
3- Jessie
4- Another Buzz with a belt from toy story 2
I saw Hamm but i don’t know if hes in the toy story wave 2
So far i only need RC from wave 1
cause hes awesome
That’s what I wanna know, because he’ll be the first part of the collection I’ll be buying.
Lotso will also be part of the wave 2 release. he looks pretty cool
Im really looking forward to Lotso. I’d like him even more if he came with his cane
I’m really looking forward to Lotso too, but I hope that they release Mr. Potato Head, Jessie, and Bullseye before they release him.
