I just got like 6 people interested and i dont even think they had six potato heads!
Quick question that I haven’t seen asked yet…
For anyone who has found the TSC Mr. Potatohead, how close in size is his body to a cheaper, regular sized Mr. Potatohead. Also, would his parts fit inside the holes of the cheaper version’s body. I wonder if buying the $10 version for the body, shoes, bendable arms, etc. and then also buying the TSC version for the more accurate eyes, nose, mouth, etc. would be a good idea.
I’m buying the Toy Story Collection for display only, so if the few more accurate features of the TSC Potatohead would fit on the cheaper version’s body, that would fix the glaring shoe problem. It would obviously take away the electronics, but that’s not why I want these figures anyway. As far as I’m concerned the only ones that should have had electronics at all are Buzz and RC, and a simple pull-string on Woody (and Jessie) would have been fine with me. All I wanted was more accurate versions of the toys, without all the extra bells and whistles.
If anyone can confirm that the parts do or don’t fit, I would appreciate it. (and sorry if that’s already been asked… I don’t remember reading it.)
The parts would probably fit, but my observation is that the placement of the holes that the parts fit into isn’t very accurate. Not to mention the eyes would probably be off center since the Hasbro body has one eye slot and the TSC Potato Head has two eye slots but only one peg on the eye piece itself.
I found a load of TSCPotato Head at the local Toys R Us two days ago. While nice, I internally argued if it was really worth $50. I FIRMLY believe that only the Buzz Lightyear so far has been truly worth the steep price. Since they all will be mass market runs you should be seeing him in the next few weeks and in plenty supply.
The pieces are different and so are the holes. Since the TSC Potato Head has Electronics they had to make it so they holes won’t go into his body.

I have talked with a local Toys R US rep and they generally supply these to the top rated high volume stores first in New York and California. It may take as long as 6 weeks for all the rest of the stores nationwide to start seeing them stocked. Currently most now have the 10 dollar Toy Story Spud in stock at most locations.

but i didn’t leave empty handed, i found a brand new slinky dog on clearance for 10.00, he had the green collar

What!!! I am outraged on behalf of every in canada who wants a potato head and can’t get one!!(Including me) I just wish I had known that before i went to Toys R us today, but at least i got toy story 1 on blu ray

To be quite honest I didnt even take that close a look at him. I noticed him but i was preoccupied with potato head. When i go back(hopefully tomorrow) I will take a look at him for ya. Maybe even take some pics on my phone
I have two questions i hope someone can answer.
- How long does Jenny usually take toi respond to an email?
- How is the vest sewn onto woody? I bought one that had to be returned and the replacement seems to have been sewn in a totally different way. I have mostly heard of two threads holding it down but mine has at least 4. Was there a running changee that had woody’s vest sewn on better?
