Because of the way the eyes are fused, separating them will look ugly. It’l resemble two cookies with bites taken out of them… but you can make/buy custom ones. This prop maker, Tyler Hasslet plans to recast the eyes and fill in the missing parts. As well as separated brows for more varied expressions. I’ll keep you guys posted on when he’s ready to sell them.
That was where and when I got mine and was the only time I ever saw Rex. I’m glad I got him when I did. I thjink I’m gonna try and pop into the store on a weekly basis and incase I miss Potato Head or Hamm. Well mostly just Hamm as I have Potato Head on order from Play.com.
I’ve also been bugging the staff in my local Disney Store and the lady in there now recognises me. I went in the other day to ask about new TS merchandise and before I even opened my mouth she said sorry nothing new in yet. So I might push my luck and print off a picture of Hamm and ask if she could put on aside for me if they come in. She might not be able to but worth a try.
I still don’t get why your blaming Hasbro. The Toy Story Collection just came out, so if you want authenticity, just buy that. The parts for Toy Story’s Mr. Potato Head were made in 1987, so they weren’t going to change what was already established just to make it look a little bit more like the movie. They did change the bendy arms, though, probably safety, so they couldn’t bring those back, and having seperate shoes would just be inconvenient. They just wanted to make him fit in with the rest of the line, and I think they pulled it off. You may not’ve liked it, all the essentials were there, and I can tell you that I personally didn’t mind.
Bottom line: it wasn’t perfect, but at least they released him with the appropriate parts instead of just keeping the original round-eyes, round-nose, green hat look. Sorry if that came out a bit harsh, but it functioned the way it should as a toy, and held its own in appearance, there’s only so much you can expect of a children’s toy company.
Just walked out of the Disney store with Hamm. 
They never have anything good, (not a thing from the toy story collection) so I was pretty shocked to see 4 of these in stock. Quick shot from my phone.

I finally got around to taking Buzz out of his packaging, which was somewhat of an event. They really secure him in there. Anyway, the figure itself is actually a lot better than I was expecting. Pictures don’t quite do him justice. The wingspan always still looked a little short in pictures, but in person it’s basically perfect. I can’t wait to get Woody next.
