I’m sure you can get the job done with filters in certain programs, however I believe for the most authentic look, they use actual VHS tapes. If you use a VCR and record the footage on an aged poor quality tape that has been re recorded over a lot, you’ll get that same look.
Edit: Tyler, are you sure that counts as collection? what you are basing this on? unless she comes with a certificate of authenticity (which isn’t mentioned anywhere) it doesn’t count.
I definitely have a draw the line with Barbie and Ken. I do want to aim on getting the entire toy story collection, but not if that means buying these two. as it is I’m not crazy about Lotso or Utility belt buzz as toys (not saying I don’t like them in the movie), but will buy them for completion’s sake if I have to. I wont do the same for barbie and ken though.
Calm down man, he has a point. the toy story collection has so far been thinkway, with the exception of Mr potatohead, as it was a joint release with Hasbro.
I dont see Mattel teaming up with Thinkway to add Barbie and Ken to this line. unless your just counting it personally because it happens to be in scale?
Kyle,
Thinkway would not, can not, and will not make a barbie of any kind, as thats mattels property. They made the ones appearing in the movie, hence “Collection”. Same way as the original talking phone made by “fischer price” is in the “collection”. Afterall, the collection stands for REPLICAS. Cant get any more real than the real deal…
The Disney Store Hamm, I’m sure there are some “Waiting” for one by Thinkway, but that is %100 not happening. So those folks will never get a REPLICA HAMM due to their own misunderstandings on simple logic.
I however most likely will not get anything Barbie, I too draw the line hahah.
So we agree, Thinkway wont make a Barbie. Even if they are replicas that fit in with the TSC perfectly fine, the fact that their not officially part of this toy line, with “Toy Story collection” right on the packaging means it doesn’t count. It may seem like a petty technicality, but its important for those of us who may want only the toys in this specific line, and don’t want to feel obligated to buy a toy they don’t really want.
Yeah, the kids broke his tail because he mentions how “Andy never played with us like this.” Still Buzz lost his arm and was repaired, so I wouldn’t worry.
I dont have a problem with replica talk here, as far as Im concerned anything replcia is fair game in this topic, despite mainly being for the Toy Story collection. I only take issue with people claiming a toy is part of a line that is isnt.
Hamm isnt part of the colleciton, but we talk about him because hey, he might as well be.
I get what you mean Kyle, that is why I ceased nonOfficial TSC talk here and started up a different thread about it. I was serious when I meant that I and others possibly, would like a list and where to obtain replicas or the actual things the film “props” were modeled after. I love prop replicas from film, so I know some of the prop replicas from Toy Story are not in Thinkway’s line, which was what this particular thread is about.
I’m sure your thread will be useful too, but it is kinda nice to have them all in one spot too.
anyway, lets get this back on track…
I have a sneaking suspicion that Bullseye doesn’t in fact have that internal skeleton thing to stand on his own that we previously heard about. Why would he come with a stand if he did? I hope I’m wrong, but I bet that was just in a prototype or something, the finale will just be floppy, and have those sounds and vibrating feature.
Do we have any proof that Utility belt buzz (the TSC one) is out like some claim? I’m still skeptic until I hear and/or see more people backing this up. if this is true, does that mean Jessie might be out as well? I cant wait to get her. After her and Bullsyeye I could honestly see myself stopping there for a while. I’ll eventually pick up lotso and Utility belt buzz, but I could live without them, as their not even Andy’s toys.
Its been about 10 days since I shipped Woody off for replacement…I wonder if they’ve even shipped mine yet…
I just called my ToysRUs back home in Cupertino and they said they’re expecting a huge shipment of Toy Story Collection toys to arrive on May 1st. When I asked what kind of toys they said (in addition to the ones already released) they said Mr. Potato Head, Jessie and Lotso. So I’m really hoping I get to see them on sale that day.
Well with limited shelf space I can see why Bullseye might be the last out of these to release. Jessie, being the only female main character, and Lotso being a huge part of TS3.
