(This is Shipping Related) Does Anyone Else Think...

That Buzz [spoil]getting jealous of Woody when Jessie hugs him and acting all awesome to impress her[/spoil] was Pixar taking a crack at all the annoying Jessie/Woody fans? (I’m sure they aren’t all annoying, but PLENTY of them are) Pixarians have been known to take a glance at fan material (hasn’t Brad Bird or Andrew Stanton or someone been on here before?). It would be a funny thought, almost as if saying “Really guys, they’re just friends and this is cannon. Stop bugging us to put them together.”

They lurk here, though Lee Unkrich went the extra mile and actually registered and posted here.

Whats his account name

I wouldn’t be surprised, Rac.

I would love to know his account name and where he postedd please.

His account is leeunkrich. He made a post in the early days of the Trailer/Teaser Discussion thread (for TS3).

Oh noes!
I’m annoying!

I’m sorry but something about the Buzz/Jessie pairing bothers me. Yes, I know it’s cannon and all, but still…

That would be hilarious

Don’t worry. As long as you don’t trash Bo Peep and Buzz, try and pick fights with the BXJ fans, whine that you guys are in the majority and Pixar is stupid for not putting them together, or all around act obnoxious you are just fine. I only meant the REALLY annoying ones that lurk in the shadows of sites like DeviantArt and Youtube.

But after looking through all the debate pages of BXJ vs. WXJ on DeviantArt, I think this may be Pixar’s very first instance of Ship to Ship Combat!(A TVTrope for when shippers duke it out against each other)

God help us all…

Hahaha.
Well, Rac, I do enjoy some canon pairings fanart. And I think Bo x Woody is kinda cute.
It all depends, I suppose.

What really annoys me about Woody/Jessie people (again not all just some) is they completely trash Bo and Buzz and make them out to be horrible people in their fanfictions and art. I saw this poster ond deviantArt that had a picture of woody and jessie and underneath it said “Woody/Jessie: Because we die for our pairing…that means Bo”

How rude is that?!?!?!?

And other fanfictions etc. make Buzz into this total jerk or pathetic loser that Jessie scoffs at and that’s just not in-character at all.

Plus they’re like siblings so that always bothers me a bit too.

Oh well. Ship what you want I say, but be nice about it!

I have some weird ships I know too haha.

HelloDolly144: Exactly. I wouldn’t mind them, but some of them act so…so…Harmonian-ish. (To anyone who doesn’t know, Harmonians are what you call the rabid and annoying Harry/Hermione shippers. They’re the part of the H/H shippers who think Ginny is the spawn of Satan and deserves to be killed in a horrible, violent fashion so poor Harry can be with his TWO LUV HERMIONE.)

It’s funny how I thought shipping wars only existed in other fandoms like Lost or just anime in general (I was actually in the Naruto fandom for a heck of a long time, so I would know, lol). After a week of stepping in the Disney/Pixar fandom, I realized that you really CAN’T avoid pairing wars no matter what fandom you’re in. There are actually people out there who hate canon ships like Woody/Boo, Aladdin/Jasmine and even Mickey/Minnie, even though I really don’t understand what’s there to hate about them. I mean, Disney and Pixar aren’t even like Anime or just regular drama TV-shows, where you get love triangles and then people pick a side then get into dramas, fights and other lol-worthy things with other people on the internet. The pairings are already established from the start, like with a prince and a princess, and vice versa. I mean, all of Pixar/Disney’s couples are just so blatantly canon and just… THERE. So personally, I don’t get the hate or the wars. It makes no sense to me.

But to each their own, I guess. shrugs

Though it’s weird for me because as much as I love shipping, I really can’t ship anything in Pixar movies. I’m not going to deny it, Buzz/Jessie really IS adorable and I was practically squeeing in my chair while I was watching it in the theater at how Buzz was so speechless and stuttery around Jessie. It was so cute, but still… I just really can’t ship anything in Pixar. I find Pixar movies just way too innocent for that, if you get what I mean. I’m probably not making sense, but oh well. xDDD;;

And also, to answer your original question, maybe it was. But then again, I wouldn’t know. Like I said, I don’t really care about pairings very much in Pixar.

Not gonna lie, plenty of WxJ fangirls freak me out, for reasons already mentioned (“die for our ship”, trashing Bo Peep). I admit that I’ve seen some quality fanart of Woody and Jessie as a couple, but I swear, it’s just like dealing with freaky SonAmy fangirls wanting to have Princess Sally getting killed off in Sonic the Hedgehog comic forums.

I have yet to come across a plausible excuse for Jessie not to date Buzz.

Well, I like Woody and Jessie together. I don’t care if it’s just friendship or love. I just like them together. But I like Buzz and Jessie more as a couple together.

Mickey and Minnie?

WHAT?

That’s like…unthinkable! That’s like breaking up Peach and Mario! Or Barbie and Ken! Or Superman and Lois Lane! YOU JUST DON’T DO THAT!

That post and your response made me laugh, Rac.

… not Mickey and Minnie. Anything but Mickey and Minnie. Seriously, what’s wrong with these people?!

I’m thinking they feel “cool” and “special” by going away from the normal way of things and breaking up a classic couple.

Just goes to show that just because you think differently than everyone else does not mean you think better than they do. It could just make you a weirdo.

I’m not that into shipping and stuff like that. I mean, with some other movies and shows, it may be ambiguous, but in this case, Pixar has clearly laid out their intentions.
