I am a huge fan of Tim. His imagination is truely astonishing. Loved Corpse
Bride. Definitley my favorite film of his so far. I was pretty dissapointed when it didn’t win
the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. I still am, actually. As for his next project, he’s directing
Sweeney Todd , based on the musical of the same name.
Here’s the cast list
so far…
Johnny Depp- Sweeney Todd
Helena Bonham Carter- Mrs. Lovett
Sacha Baron Cohen-
Pirelli
Alan Rickman- Judge Turpin

He’s also attached to direct
Believe It or Not starring Jim Carrey as Robert Ripley for a possible 2009 release date.
I respect Tim Burton. I enjoy watching his
movies. So far, I would have to say my favorite would be Corpse Bride. Incredible story.
Tim Burton may be a kooky guy
(not a bad thing), but his style and ideas are wicked.
I was delighted to learn not long ago that he was
the character designer for Family Dog, one of my childhood
favorites.

Tim Burton just rocks. He has this
amazing style that really comes out in all of his films- you can just tell when he’s been involved with
something.

I love
Tim Burton movie, I haven’t seen all of them or anything, though.
Sweeney Todd? I remember that from
Jersey Girl… that should be interesting.

It seems that Timothy Spall has been
cast as Beadle Banford. I cannot confirm this right now, but I could not see Spall as the Beadle. Maybe it’s
because I haven’t seen him in anything but the Harry Potter movies, so I will have
to look for more films starring him. If Spall has indeed been cast, we will have three Harry
Potter actors appearing in Sweeney Todd.
Tim Burton is eccentric in a good way. I’ve seen several of his films, and actually liked all
but one of them (The one that I didn’t like was Edward Scissorhands. I know that
this may come as a shock for some Tim Burton fans, but the movie just didn’t work for me. Add to that the fact
that it gave me nightmares for several days when I was a kid.) The best Tim Burton film so far is
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I loved this movie so much that I decided to rank
it as No. 5 in my list of top films (it was, indeed, a masterpiece, in my humble opinion).
Another one of my favorite movies is James and The Giant Peach. Tim Burton helped produced
this film. The insects in the movies is what made me love it. THere were animated so well.
Sweeney Todd, as the
original poster (Bill) said
Well, if you check my earlier post, you would know what
it is. He didn’t direct it, but i am sure this still counts.

Tim Burton’s best work is easily The Nightmare Before Christmas.
I can’t believe nobody mentioned that yet in the same sentence as Tim Burton.

Aggie - Yeah, The Nightmare Before Christmas is most
definitely his classic work. The only other film of his that seems equal to that is Ed
Wood.
Did anyone get a chance to see the 3-D version of
Nightmare? I wanted to so badly, but couldn’t find a theater that was showing it.
But it’s
coming back this October, so I’ll get a second chance.

I have to admit that Tim Burton is…something else. Heheh. Most of his films I despise, with
the exception of Corpse Bride. I absolutely love that
film, for some reason.
I do admire his talent, patience, and precision, though. To be able to spend all
of that time animating clay figures, moving each set and character piece by piece, must be quite pain-stacking at
times. It does look like fun, though, come to think of it.
So yeah – except for Corpse
Bride, Mr. Burton’s films scare me to the core. My sister, on the other hand, is in love with his
films. She can’t stop watching them.

Bill - Unfortunately, I had
no choice but to watch The Nightmare Before Christmas in 3-D due a certain
“turn of events” one day. My sister was absolutely ecstatic. (snigger)
It was ok. The 3-D
enhancement wasn’t as powerful as I had expected it to be, but there was a part at the beginning that was really
cool. I’m sorry you didn’t get to see it – you would have loved it. People jumped out of their seats.
My second favorite Tim Burton movie will have
to be Corpse Bride. It has got a great story. I just loved the ending.

The Star Swordsman - Yes, so did I. The characters and
story were both very intriguing, I must say. I also loved the piano solos, as well.
And I must add the ending fight kept me on the edge
of my seat.

I was very happy with the ending of
Corpse Bride as well… very bittersweet. So many fans complain about Victor and Emily not getting together, but I
was totally fine with it… I thought that Victor and Victoria had to be together, so
Victoria could free herself from her parents.
