Tim Burton

Thanks for the great laugh, Mitch!

I just saw it. Even thought it is

a little late/early for Christmas, I am gonna memorize the song. Soon I hope.

Here’s something that’s been on my mind. What are your’e thoughts about Tim and Jim Carrey working together

on Ripley’s Believe It or Not ? I seriously think this is a perfect match, while

LOTS of others are flipping out about the whole thing.

Now, this

is a project that I’m really interested in watching. Not only does it look like Jim Carrey will make something

great out of the role, but the premise of the movie matches Tim Burton’s wacky style perfectly. I believe this

movie is slated for release in 2009 (am I right?), so they have quite a bit of time to make something wonderful

out of it.

Right. The premise is perfect material for

Tim, and he has specifically requested Jim for the lead role. And, it does come out in 2009, although an exact

release date is not determined at the moment. Plus, it will be Tim’s second biopic after Ed

Wood.

Mitch- LOL! I loved how Dr. Finklestein got

progressively angry, and how Jack kept asking for beers and alcohol.

Bill and lizardgirl - Haha – I’m glad you both liked it! I

loved the whole “rigging up the lights” thing, too. That last line just had me in

tears…

“Fine! If you’re so smart, why don’t you rig up these lights?!!” -

Finklestein

Just hilarious.

The Star Swordsman - (snigger)

Yeah, my sister and I have already got it memorized. We watch it almost daily now. :stuck_out_tongue:

Who here likes Beetlejuice ?

I do! It’s a great film, with brilliant acting, great concept and a real

quirkyness.

Did Tim Burton have a part in that? If he did, I

thought that was pretty cool.

If you’re talking about

Beetlejuice, then the answer is yes. Tim Burton, in fact, directed the

film.

I have not seen the film, though. I’ll probably watch it once I see Ed

Wood which, as I said, is the Tim Burton film that I haven’t seen that currently interests me the

most.

The release date for Sweeney

Todd has been announced, December 21 of this year. I can’t wait to see it!!!

Wow, that’s my birthday… Maybe it means the

movie will be good

Here’s a question. Did anyone see Mars Attacks! yet?

I love Mars Attacks! It’s so funny, yet so, so strange.

LG- His original plan was to do the Martians using

stop-motion, but that didn’t work so he used CG. Actually, the people who made the unused puppets for Mars

Attacks! are the same people that did the puppets for Corpse Bride. Just a little fun fact.

Bill- Wow, that’s pretty cool!

I managed to see Corpse Bride properly for

the first time last week. I love some of the references in Corpse Bride to things sort of related to Pixar and

animation generally. For example, there’s a bit when Victor leans back when he’s playing the piano, and on the

thing which says the make of the piano says ‘Harryhausen’, which was the name of the restaurant in MI, and was

the name of a famous animator. And the entire film itself is dedicated to Joe Ranft, which is pretty nice.

Yeah, the references are wonderful.

I’ve actually had this idea of Tim directing a biopic of Edgar

Allen Poe.

Comments?

Not to sound too random, but I just saw

Vincent for the first (or was it second…?) time only a couple days ago. Scariest

short I’ve ever seen in my life. I dunno why my sister likes that stuff… (snigger) :stuck_out_tongue:

Really? I loved it! But then again, I’m a huge fan of Tim’s

work!
