Based on the Academy-Award nominated short film, coming out in 9-9-09:
Oh man, that looks pretty cool! Tim Burton’s, huh?
Maybe, I’m going to catch it in the cinema.
BTW, the music in the trailer is totally awesome!
It looks very strange, but really interesting. The story especially sounds quite unique, though the trailer did remind me of a video game or something as opposed to an actual movie. I’ll probably see it both because of Tim Burton’s influence, and also because I’m intrigued as to what this film will be like, since it’s animated but also appears to be aimed at a more adult audience.
Just a note, this it NOT Tim Burton’s. He is the producer, but the story, characters and almost everything is from Shane Acker, who created the short film. Tim was excited by it and contacted him to make a full feature.
This looks awesome! I seriously can’t wait for it.
Looks pretty interesting. A unique look and story for an animated feature.
Looks kinda like a more twisted version of WALL-E. XD
Hm, it does look more suitable for a video game trailer than a movie. But it might be interesting. I feel like some people would get offended by the “Bishop” looking guy, but since he seems to be a protagonist, it’ll probably be okay. And yes, I think Tim Burton’s name was put there first to appeal to his fans.
Looks really interesting for sure! I like the music in the trailer, too.
I almost confused this with the film Nine (spelled out) with Daniel Day-Lewis and Penelope Cruz!
I was going to point that out! LOL!
But anyway, I’m real excited for this “number”. The music is EPIC in the trailer, especially when they were strumming it in the credits sequence. I wonder what song was that?
Can’t wait to hear Elijah Wood’s turn after his commendable performance as Mumble “Happy Feet”. He’s got a pretty solid supporting cast, too.
.
Maybe cos’ he looks a bit like Sack Boy from LBP?
thedriveintheatre - Everyone’s saying that, but as an avid player of Little Big Planet, I really can’t see it. Plus, it’s more the feel of the trailer in terms of the style of the graphics and the use of exact timing with the music that really reminded me of a video game, as opposed to the characters themselves, though they too have that certain quality.
I am intrigued by the potential, but I’m not really sold yet.
Ditto. It looks kinda strange, but more importantly I really don’t know why they’re apparently trying to save anything in the first place…
Haha, good point, lennonluvr9! Hadn’t thought about that.
This movie looks pretty interesting. I like Tim Burton’s style, but it all seems a bit too similar to me. I’ll have to check this out and see for myself!
Again, this is NOT Burton’s style, he’s only producing. Shane Acker’s style it is.
True, but you can definitely see a Tim Burton resemblance in it. Burton had to have had some say/part in the creation/production of the film.
It actually doesn’t make me think of Tim Burton at all.
The short had interesting visuals and it’s extremely impressive considering Acker’s age and the amount of work he put into it, but I don’t know how I feel about this being made into a full-length film. It’s not really my type, I think, but I’ll give it a shot when it comes out.
I just think the old decrepid, crooked, swirly architecture in the movie resembles Burton’s style a whole lot.
Which is why Burton liked it and contacted Acker about it, but it had nothing to do with him.
