Interesting, the description says it’ll have an open world design. Thats our first real info on the type of game it’ll be.
I think this is going to one of those games that I either end up buying used and at $5 or simply downloading for free. Call me old fashioned but there’s hardly ever any good videogames that are based on movies or tv shows.
AW man i loved the toy story 2 game, and my only wish for the toy story 3 game is that they let more then just woody or buzz be playable only, I think it would be really cool to see Mr. Potato Head as a playable Character
yup. I’m not going to get my hope up too high. even if they nail the graphics and have a nice structure going, it’ll probably be too short and easy. that seems the be the common problem with pixar based games lately.
I remember playing all those old Toy Story games over and over. They were always some of my favorites.
I’m REALLY hoping the TS3 game, will be like the Toy Story 2 adventure game. That game, at least for me, was epic. I played it through so many times, and loved it more each time. That was a crazy cool game. And just imagine, something that cool, with amazing graphics. I rly hope they make it for Wii.
There’s a “new” cover up on the Disney Store; it’s basically just Woody, Buzz, and the 3 on a black background.

Also, if anyone gets Game Informer, apparently there’s an article on the game in this month’s issue, interviewing the developers on how they went from early concepts to the first playable build.
Ive been trying to find scans online but no luck so far.
All I can say is that Toy Story struck gold with console games (let’s not mention those portable games, though). They were both instant classics, and are solid games regardless of being movie-licenses. Both games took their liberties, but still, that made them all the more enjoyable. Though I doubt you can throw a Buzz Lightyear in a pool and have it still work (actually, that kinda happened to me once, but it was a hottub).
Anyways, the sidescrolling style of the first game worked perfectly, however, has sadly become obsolete in these times. Toy Story 2 is actually more similar to current-gen games in terms of gameplay. My guess is that for TS3, instead of only exploring one level at a time, you have total freedom.
I’m not too picky on playable characters, as long at it’s at least Buzz or Woody (they seemed to pick the playable characters based on who sees more action in the movie).
TS3 has a strong reputation to live up to, but I have high hopes. Who knows? This may be a groundbreaking game.
Lee Unkrich said recently on twitter that he and his kids have been having a blast with the test build of the 360 version of it.

It sounds awesome, I will definitely be getting it for X360.
any one ask for screenshots??? Thanks to Ign http://media.xbox360.ign.com/media/061/061770/imgs_1.html
Awesome. Buzz looks really good, almost straight out of the movie.
EDIT: I found a site with a few more screenshots (from the DS version too). Stinky Pete!
Wow, impressive. The wii version is the one i really want to see though, since that’s the one I’ll have to settle for. I want to see how close they were able to get the graphics to the more powerful systems. obviously it cant look as good, but I want to see if they even tried to get the most out of it. most of the time third parties don’t.
Also the ps3 version will be compatible with the playstation move, which means there’s a chance the wii will be compatible with motion plus.
Graphics already look amazing. I’m guessing that so far, you can play in the Wild West set for Woody’s Roundup. I hope they add some of the areas from the first film (Andy’s house, Pizza Planet),
I hope you can free-roam Andy’s house, like in Sandbox mode or something. If they could make it for Toy Story 2 10 years ago, I don’t see why they can’t do it now.
^That one’s almost a given at this point. The Toy Story 2 game actually had it pretty accurate, and believe-it-or-not, so did Toy Story Racer. It’s all been consistant with the movie, so this one shouldn’t be different.
I also think it would be cool if people walked around and you had to hide from them, like Batman & The Scarecrow in Batman: Arkham Asylum, or Brian the Family Guy game.
Yeah, that’s another thing that made the Toy Story 2 game a little inaccurate; it was a ghost town!
In the original Toy Story game, the Pizza Planet level forced you to keep hiding under the soft drink cup or else you’d get stepped on (scene taken from the movie).
Has there been any talk of multiplayer, or which characters you get to play as?
Wow, I remember loving the Toy Story 2 game on my N64 when I was younger. If this game is anything close, it will be pure magic!
