Oh my God, Really?! This topic is back up? (sigh) I don’t think there will be a Toy Story 4. Pixar would be dumb to do so in my opinion. The fans have agreed it ended perfectly and Pixar probably agrees. The biggest thing I see is a half hour special for the 20th anniversary. The short’s are good enough. When it comes to the movies, it’s time for the fans and Pixar to move on.
Yes, even after loosing $200mil from John Carter.
You never know what will happen…
Maybe they are thinking in terms of the Toys that the story isn’t over. Perhaps they want to close their stories. Not that they weren’t necessarily closed in the third movie but remember when everyone was so upset because Bo wasn’t there? Maybe they want to resolve the relationships with the toys and each other before pulling the plug. Just a fan girl thought lol People usually consider their lives “set” when they are married and have children.
OK, why is there so much flack for the possibility here??? I LOVE the possibility of a TS4! I can’t get enough of these guys, and if Pixar’s got a good idea in mind, then GO PIXAR, GO!!Pixar has never failed in my opinion, and they never will! And for anyone who says that it’s because of the ca$h involved, that is so not true! I went on a youth group ski trip last year when I heard about the rumored quardrel (is that what they call a fourth installment?), and the minute someone said “It’s probably because of the money” my usually quiet self practically exploded. I very outspokenly and zealously said that Pixar is all about making great movies and great stories, not, I repeat not making great money! And in my opinion, a good sequel is like another awesome book in a great book series. I mean, no one ever complains about how many bushels of Nancy Drew books were written, but Pixar considers making another Toy Story film and someone complains! At first, I wasn’t real keen on the idea of a TS4, since the third film was so nicely wrapped up, but I know that Pixar would just rock it! So let’s hope the shorts will keep the Toy Story amounts in my blood level until 2016 or whenever
I would of like a fourth film with a good story and the ol’ magic that makes the Pixar films great. Just don’t do it for the sake of selling merch.
Exactly.
Nearly everyone is worrying that Pixar will water down a fourth film (and given their Cars fiasco that’s not surprising) but this IS Toy Story we’re talking about, the franchise that made Pixar what they are today. I can’t imagine them making a fourth film if it wasn’t going to at least equal the quality of the first three.
A lot of people just don’t like it when a company makes to many sequels. Righting just gets lazyer, jokes are less funny ans even the effets are worse sometimes. # is usally the best to stop. If there’s gonna be a 4th movie for some francise, wait many years like they did for Indiana Jones, even that was hated by some people.
I don’t care about sequels. They can be good or bad. Original films can be good or bad too.
My problem with this particular potential sequel is that it would ruin the wonderful sense of closure that was achieved by the third film.
Agreed.
I do agree with you, the third film had a great sense of closure. However, that still doesn’t stop me wanting a fourth IF it can be up to the very high quality of the first three.
SOA makes a great point. The third film wrapped up the series nicely and a fourth installment could be unnecessary.
This. Nuff’ said.
Ok, some news about this.
This almost gave me a stroke:
I hope I’m not the only one exided fopr this, they could do a 30 min special every year, well I wouldn’t go that far but still
All i can say is…YAY.
Hopefully this is what Tom Hanks/John Lasseter were talking about on Breakfast.
I would be fine with this. I wonder why the long wait for these.
Whew. I don’t mind specials. Specials are okay, as are the TS Toons (although those slots before feature films could be filled with original shorts, but oh well). Glad to hear a sequel isn’t in the pipeline.
Yeah, that’s interesting… I haven’t really been following the development of Pixar Canada, but it’s been open for business for a while now, right? You’d think something short like this wouldn’t take two years to produce, especially since they’ve only been doing Cars and TS shorts in Canada. I guess the shorts will come out before the specials do- that’s the only reason I can think of for the delay.
I’m fine with the T.V. specials, hopefully they turn out good.
I’m not a fan of the idea, but I welcomed it because I thought the article was about an actual feature length film.
