Toy Story Replicas (No trading-related posts please)

WOW @ wampar’s customs and WOW WOW @ wampar’s entire collection.

Sid’s toys are excellent. They’re close enough to screen-accurate for me to feel sorry for them.

That looks astounding, Wampar. You should do this for a living

I’ve been watching this thread for a couple months now. Excellent collection, Wampar! I’ve been watching it grow. I am envious.

For anyone looking for DS Hamm, watch eBay very closely. They have been going for $80-90, but I just snatched one for $32. Someone accidentally relisted it for the wrong price.

Also, how in-scale was the DS RC babyface? I passed him up on clearance a couple months ago and I regret it. Oh well…

Wampar, once again, fantastic job, but I gotta know, what did you use for/where did you find the peices you used? I’m currently focusing on toys that are in store, as most will go away after the TS3 hype does. But I’d still like to know for the future, if you don’t mind.

Wow those Sid toys are all kinds of awesome. Pretty much perfect, amazing job.

It’s definately small, but it’s the closest one that’s been made to scale. If you still want to get it for a low price, there’s another member on the forum who’ll hook you up with a clearance one.

And Wampar, it’s looking good like always. Looks accurate enough to me. Now, I’m assuming Hand-in-the-box’s box was custom?

If you dont mind releasing your secrets Wampar, what parts did you use for Jingle Joe? And do I spy Bonus Belt buzz in that group shot?

Alright, so I wanted to make some of the toys from Sunnyside and my first reference was the huge group shot. I searched and found a picture, then referred to the trailer to find a higher quality picture. I wanted to make that little happy lion figure in the very front of the top picture (in front of/between stretch) because I dont have much clay right now.

I was confused because both pictures are very different. Does anyone know which one was more recent? (used in the movie) I dont want to make something that wasnt in the movie.

the bottom was in the movie i believe

Thats what I thought too…darn. A lot less toys…

not really, i think there may even be more

So i decided on making this little dog toy thing. Compared to Twitch, he seems to be about 3 3/4 inches. Seem right?

roughly i’d say your about right

I know this is wicked late, but Wampar, those Sid’s Toys are absolutely astounding. I’ve been wanting to make them for some time, but never had the chance. I think you did them perfectly, instead of going for accuracy, just trying to capture the feel of them. I want every one of them.

Quick question, what did you do for the spring for Hand-In-The-Box? Did you add that or was it the original spring? Can you pose it (it looks like there may be wire in there)/put it in the box? I love them all, man. I can’t wait for your Erector set parts to come to see the rest of Babyface. I can’t congradulate you enough, they are that fantastic. Excellent job, as ussual.

Amazing job Wampar. I’m proud to know that someone has an almost complete Toy Story collection

wamper… u r sid!!!

Yeah. The hand is a halloween costume glove, stuffed with fiberfill, and being held up by a clear venetuan blind rod. The spring is actually a mini-slinky, because the actual spring in the jack in the box was too sparse when it was visible. The Jack-in-the-box is the FAO Schwarz one that Toys R Us is currently selling…spray painted. Then I took pictures of the screen with the Bluray playing to get the Boat, Plane, and Tractor on the sides.

You do spy him. I finally broke down and bought him. I had hoped I could pose him a little differently, maybe actually aiming him laser, but his arms just won’t do that in the toy. But I like that I have a Buzz in the collection with a helmet again since I removed the main Buzz’s helmet long ago.

Jingle Joe took me a long time to figure out what to do…the head is a custom GI Joe head I got from ebay. The red arch is the base of a hacky-sack sling-shot I got at the dollar store. The yellow portions are actually Cars Mater and McQueen maracas shaped like tires from the same dollar store. I cut off the handles, which left a flat area which also helps him stand, and painted them both yellow. The Mickey arm was made with sculpey. The middle part is a toiletpaper roll, covered with a scan and enlargement of the sticker on the TRU Jingle Joe figure. In order to remove the sticker from the figure for scanning it got a little roughed up, which ended up adding to the worn nature of the toy. Then I put everything together. drilled a hole in each side and screwed the pieces together. That was when things kinda shifted, and the paint started to crack…which again, I think works for the character,

NO!!! I like to think of myself as the little old man in TS2. I took these toys and transformed them into beloved characters that we all know and love. I made them better…at least that’s how I sleep at night.

Very cool wampar. Are all your toys for display purposes only? Or do you occasionally play with them?
