Toy Story Replicas (No trading-related posts please)

Sorry Folks…I meant this RC. Forgot to post the link (What an amateur!)…

Is this to scale???

i dont think so…

Nope, that was made for the 4-inch action figures (it’s a little bit bigger, but that’s just so that they’d fit passengers easier).

Unfortunately, nope. I had that when I was a little kid (it’s in a box down stairs now). It has a little clip to stabilize action figures, so it’s not big enough for full-sized toys. It was fun though. Too bad it broke on me.

I had this problem to I had pen marks and stuff on old toys that i wanted to clean up so…here’s some tips

1.get a tooth brush you dont need
2.wet the tooth brush and dip it in baking soda
3.start scrubbing has hard as you can on the marks you dont want
4.if that doesn’t work try nail polish remover !!!warning it may fade any paint on the toy so do not scrub too hard be careful!!!

Sorry I forgot to post this last night.

Hi all,

A few quick questions for those more knowledgeable than I on the subject, if you’d be so kind as to answer:

  1. Does the original 1983 Great Shape Barbie’s [7025] clothing fit appropriately onto the new 2010 Toy Story 3 Barbie release?

  2. Is the black African Great Shape Barbie’s [7834] clothing exactly the same as found on the aforementioned caucasian Great Shape Barbie [7025] model?

I ask because I have the opportunity to purchase a reasonably priced black African Great Shape Barbie (while the [7025] model is still too expensive and harder to come by) and I want to take her leotard and replace the shiny material leotard present on the new release Barbie to create a convincing replica.

From doing my research I have concluded that the outfits are the same on both the African and caucasian version of the Great Shape Barbies, but confirmation from these boards would sway me to a definate purchase.

Thank you.

  1. Does the original 1983 Great Shape Barbie’s [7025] clothing fit appropriately onto the new 2010 Toy Story 3 Barbie release?

Yes and no- the 1983 Barbie (mold date 1976 or so) has less protruding (thinner?) hips and her legs only move straight (much like Legs, Sid’s mutant finishing rod toy). TS3 Barbie has the new body who’s legs can splay outwards and the joint along with the design of the doll has wider hips. You might be able to stretch the outfit, but being an almost 30 year old or so outfit, I highly doubt it. My GS Barbie came loose to me, and her bodysuit front was torn- the seam had popped open (or Ken was handsy)

  1. Is the black African Great Shape Barbie’s [7834] clothing exactly the same as found on the aforementioned caucasian Great Shape Barbie [7025] model?

Yes, both Ca and AA GS Barbie are identical in every way except for headsculpt. Its something to notice that the actual GS Barbie has ballet flats on, rather than high heels like TS3 Barbie

-Omar, a huge 1:6 fan, who thinks Ken is a manly role model.

  1. I’m not sure Great Shape Barbie’s leotard would fit as well as TS3 Barbie’s leotard on the TS3 Barbie’s body. I’m pretty sure Mattel changed Barbie’s “proportions” since the release of Great Shape Barbie and the original Great Shape Barbie’s leotard might be a little “loose” in certain areas and a little “tight” in other areas on the newer TS3 Barbie.

That typed, I think Wampar just did a head-swap (TS3 Barbie’s head on Great Shape Barbie’s body), although I’m not sure if the belt and shoes fit the Great Shape Barbie body, but judging from the pictures it looks like they do.

Either way, I’m guessing Wampar will be able to answer this question much better than I can.

  1. From the photos, it looks like both versions of Great Shape Barbie had exactly the same clothes. I don’t think anyone has mentioned purchasing the African American Great Shape Barbie though, so I don’t know whether you’ll be able to get confirmation from anyone (but it certainly appears to be identical).

I didn’t take any pictures, but I did try taking the original GS Barbie leotard and putting on the new TS Barbie body several months ago. The problem I had was not the hips. The leotard fit fine at the hips and didn’t look bad. The problem was the top half. The new Barbie has shoulders that are much more narrow, and a decreased bust size, so the top portion of the leotard was very baggy on her. I put it back on my GS Barbie, and swapped their heads. The skin tone doesn’t match exactly…but you have to be looking for it to notice it.

alright! :sunglasses:
hmmm, you weren’t kidding on the wear and tears…i guess ill repaint it on photoshop…will post finished work.

Did they make a replica of Woody’s doodle pad back in the day? I could of sworn they did have a replica or a Toy Story version. I remember having one.

My nephew’s and my brother’s birthday are tomorrow, and my nephew loves Toy Story, so I’m gonna make him a “Welcome Home Andy” type of thing. I’m using paper instead of a “Etch A Sketch”, since I don’t have one, and I have everyone I need except for Slinky, Jessie, and the three LGM. Oh, well, I guess I’ll just have to make do without them. I’ll post pictures of the set-up later.

this guy seems to be selling custom wheezys on ebay. they look the same as the official, but are sculpted with clay(?). maybe they will go down in price as time goes on.

He’s made of porcelain, not clay so he’s pretty fragile. It’s a nice figure for sure. The only problem I can forsee is that it’s based on an existing toy. No scale Wheezy has been made so it’s more than likely this one is wrong too.
