He’s just not a big fan of the Disney Store. I figured it would be more practical to go back when I had more time. Anyways, from their Toy Story display in the front, I can see they have a new model of the classic Woody doll. Good to see they’re keeping the original alive. Though this time around, they actually redid the body, which was lacking ever since they kept the body for the bendy wire Woody that was discontinued. Didn’t notice anything else, but they probably kept the re-recorded voice box that they added a while ago.
Just for kicks, here are the 3 currently in my possession.

Kyle, I too have 2 Hamms, one more glossy’er than the other, but with more marks. I would definetly keep your old one.
Well, after seeing them, i’d say keep the “Mine” Hamm. I personally like that shade better, and I don’t really see a huge difference with the gloss.
If you don’t mind my asking, what’s the deal with the “Tyler’s” one? Is it a custom paint job or something? The only real difference I notice is maybe a bit better “blush” effect on the cheeks.
The one marked Tyler is simply one I bought for him. Its very similar to mine, just with some minor scuff marks.
Seeing all these Hamms, and hearing that they are re-appearing in the US makes me kinda jealous that there’s been none available to purchase direct in the UK since… ever.
This means my only option is to purchase one off ebay for an extortionate price, which I am definately not keen to do, especially with the addition of overseas postage. Hamm now is really the only cast member I am actively seeking (having just bought myself an original Musical Jolly Chimp, and a Little Tikes Toddle Tot Fire Engine… pics to follow in due course). I recently missed out on a vintage Barrel of Monkeys, but I can live without them until a good deal comes up.
My collection is now pretty healthy and they are all looking very fine on display. Again, pics to follow shortly.
just got something to share… Tyler’s new product from his facebook

those eyes look awesome and a bit weird at the same time ![]()
Is Tyler making anything else?
Looks like he finally did the classis eyes (the way they appear when Mr. Potato Head is being played with). Looks good on the Toy Story Collection Mr. Potato Head.
@ Jordo789 in his facebook, there is some picture of Dolly and Wheezy but its not finished already
I think Tyler’s looks pretty good, You might want to use that one.
I made it to the DS today, coupon in-hand, and they had at least 7 Hamms in. Got to pick the best of the bunch and everything. He is actually a LOT bigger than I thought, at least 2-3 inches longer than I had expected.
With the coupon the total for him is $16.70, which is great considering his size. Sorry to all you guys outside the US… Hopefully someone can get a stash and help distribute.
I went to the closest Disney Store to me today (not in my state though), and got a Slinky. They also had two Hamms. Neither were pristine, but I picked the better one. I will try to clean him up as much as I can. If I’m not satisfied, the girl at the counter said that they will get two Toy Story shipments this week. So, if I’m not satisfied, I’ll go back, see if they have a better one. If so, I’ll return mine and get that one.
Glad I went. I now have:
Woody
Buzz Lightyear
Rex
Hamm
Slinky
Bucket O Soldiers
RC
Etch A Sketch
Lenny
Tylers is nearly identical to mine in terms of color. though mine has fewer scuff marks. at least not ones that are in places that will bug me as much. That’s why I only really focused on the other two.
I’m still really torn between these though. from a distance I much prefer the more vibrant one. but up close the one I already had holds up better. but again, mine looks like a ghost or something after comparing it to the new one. ideally I’d repaint mine to look like the new one, but I’m too afraid of messing it up. Ive never painted anything before.
Shifting subjects a bit, I’ll be getting my hands on both Tyler’s Hockey puck and those toy mode eyes very soon (their being shipped together). These are actually improved from his last ones in that they now will set flush onto the potato. I usually do my best to hide that flaw in my pics of the old eyes, but there was/is this gap behind the eyes that can be seen when viewed from the side. They now go in flush with the potato like the Thinkway pieces. And a more obvious difference, the pupils are larger, which is great.
I just received my Vintage Musical Jolly Chimp. See images below:
You wanna get out of here…? GET RID OF THAT MONKEY!
He’s a great addition to any collection, and a much bigger toy than I had imagined. The one I have is in very good condition for his age, with only a minor bit of fraying and wear to his clothes and fur.
Unfortunately, despite the seller’s description on Ebay stating otherwise, I can not get him to function, even after inserting brand new batteries, cleaning the contacts and giving him a squirt of WD-40. The seller described how he could get him going slowly, but the most I’ve managed to get is a small crunch of gears when I turned him on for the first time, then nothing thereafter.
I was of course hoping that he’d be fully functional, but I’m not too disappointed. He can still be operated manually with a push of the head, and how often would I have turned him on anyway…? In terms of display he is just what I wanted and looks great next to the other characters in my collection.
Having said that if anyone has any information on how to repair these kinds of things I’d be grateful, though I don’t really want to go fiddling about inside for fear of damaging him. Maybe I’ll take him to a specialist later on if I’m so inclined.
I was just wondering if someone could post a size comparison chart of the Toy Story characters?
Here it is BuzzandWoodyForever
My great shape barbie came today
I put the head of the new one on her and her belt I’ll post pics soon ![]()
My ebay buys are coming in thick and fast now!
Here’s my original Little Tikes Toddle Tot Fire Engine and Firemen. I have a complete cohort of men save for one white fireman if I was going for the number that appear in the film (4 white, 1 black I believe). Hopefully I can buy him individually or as a multi purchase with some other assorted Toddle Tots.
I can recommend this as part of anyone’s Toy Story collection. Relatively common to find and inexpensive for what is a very nice item. Mine is a bit scratched but a good clean and a polish improved it no end. It looks great as part of my widening collection and the Toddle Tots are so awesome: my favourite background characters despite their fleeting appearance.
As previously noted on these boards, if you want to add this superb item to your collection make sure you find the fire engine with the correct white wheel hubs, as there is a more modern version with non screen-accurate all black cast wheels.
Does anyone know the date of manufacture for the Little Tikes fire engine pictured above? Just out of my own personal interest. I’m trying to compile a list of dates of the vintage toys in my collection and have drawn blanks for the Musical Jolly Chimp and the above fire engine.
So far I know:
Animal Lovin’ Ken (1988)
Great Shape Barbie (1983)
Chatter Telephone (1963)
Musical Jolly Chimp (late 1950’s - early 60’s) ?
Little Tikes Fire Engine (?)
Photos of my entire collection are in the works, and I will upload them shortly.
If any international member is looking for a Hamm bank, I know where you can get them for $65 (which includes shipping to you). PM me for specifics
