For the most part, the same way Wampar did. I found a base, sculpted a new head and tail, painted it, and made stickers for it. However, I believe Wampar used a doll stand to hold his up. For mine, I used part of a wire coat hanger and fed it through the body so he could stand, then attached him to a couple of blocks so he wouldn’t topple over.
Its not that off topic. This isn’t just for customs, but anything that is accurately scaled and sculpted, and not a part of the TSC. sometime the line gets blured as we try to figure how what gets a TSC release and what doesnt.
Back to Zurg, Im probably putting a strain on photographic memory with this but do you remember where the RF sensor was located? the one on the ucommand buzz is in place of the big red button, which in my opinion ruins its appeal. were they able to hide it better on zurg? possibly by placing the sensor behind his mouth grill? if it looked like it might light up this would make the most sense to me. its already ment to have that thanslusent plastic. I’m just not sure if it needs to be red like most sensors or if a yellow/amber would work as well. Another option Ive considered is altering the Z on his chest to be the sensor.
I really don’t believe this to be true. they re rendered TS2 in 3D, so that proves they still have the models at least. They even used the Bo peep model in TS3. they didn’t have time to get her rigged up for animation or anything, but they still had the model itself which is all you need for this. Zurg was similarly carried over for the credits in TSC. They had to re rig him for animation, but he would have been relatively easy to rig, since his has such limited articulation in the first place, and is built in a non organic way, like a robot. And it sounds like this u command Zurg was going to be TSC, if it is indeed the same sculpt then they did have to resurrect the model for that. if they did it with Zurg they can do it for the prospector. the only problem with that could be his facial expression. If Pixar wants a specific expression they might need to re rig his face as if they were going to animate him. But its also possible they can simply go back to the older rig they still have from TS2, and export that to something that can be printed with a 3D printer, which considering this isn’t new technology I don’t think would be too hard.
Could anyone tell me the easiest way to make seperated mr potato heads eyes ond also a good way to make hes legs shorter.
Sorry I really can’t recall where the infa-red sensor was located… At the very least this Zurg will give customizers a great base to work on if they’re not happy with the final toy.
doom how did the twitch look and did u see any chunk or sparks?
Hey I’m going to make a Robot and I was wondering if anyone had a pic or something of his arrows and of the numbers and letters thing around his wheels?
No Chunk or Sparks (the DS Chunk is pretty awesome though)
Twitch looked good, he had his staff and a better, more movie realistic paint job but didn’t really look like a new sculpt from what I saw.
The thing to bear in mind is that I was about 3-4 foot away and didn’t get a really close up look at the toys, fingers crossed that some great pics come out of the US Toy Fair
I know everybody is freaking out about the new wave, but me and the girlfriend started a wave of our own. We made the Cat (and named it Perry) from Sunnyside Daycare. We are almost finished, we just have to sew on the paws. We are very happy with how it turned out. Here are some pics.
Here is three snapshots from the movie…
That’s Awesome! I can’t wait to see it when it’s finished!
Thank you!
You’re welcome! All you have to do is just add the claws right. It would be cool if you can make the ears more pointy.
Looks good, I like the material you used.
thanks Dinoco and TIAB,
We used fleece and felt mostly.
This isnt going to be our final version, we are planning on making the sunflower doll next and then attempting to make Perry again closer to the movie. The ears will definitely be more pointy next time. My girlfriend loves this little guy. We have never made a stuffed animal before but he looks great with our collection. I’ll take some more pics when we are finished.
This is pâte fimo in french , its liek sculpey with different colors really nice though and the final aspect is really grea, i’m happy with it
I’ve used Fimo, I really like the Dolphin grey Fimo - great medium to work with.
Your Favorite Deputy, your cat is awesome - great to see someone tackle a new character
Wow perry looks awsome i wasnt blessed with the ability to make toys like you and emma can if i even attempt it looks like a 2nd graders art project only thing i see that isnt accurate with perry is his stripes are a little to dark and his ears arent as pointy as the one in the film other then that awsome peace of work can wait to see the finished product.
A new addition to Lotso’s Gang? Perry is a thug.
A new addition to Lotso’s Gang? Perry is a thug.
Perry’s really scary and evil. He totally fits in. JK I like it though I think it’s a funny joke.
Cool cat, Your Favorite Deputy good work
Your Favourite Deputy, if you ever felt like making a few of these i’d buy one! Seriously! PM me. He’s that good.
