I’m disappointed about the potato head toys, not because it doesn’t look like the Toy Story rendition, but because they changed the Mr. P I grew up with, the design that Mr. P had since 1980.
You guys are looking at this from the wrong perspective. You’re expecting this to be a Toy Story collectible, when in fact, Mr. Potato Head has a lot more to go for than just Toy Story. First of all, it’s not replacing anything. There’s been mini Potato Head, Sports Potato Heads, you name it; they wouldn’t discontinue the classic Potato Head and make a risk like that. Second of all, there’s still going to be more Toy Story Potato Head, they already have a new one in the works, as I’m informed.
Hasbro’s just trying something new here, and unless you’re 2-6, I don’t think you can fairly judge it.
My thoughts exactly, Dinoco.
Where did you hear there was another toy story one in the works? these seem to match Doomskeekers description which as far as I know was our only hope for the time being.
I agree though, their not going to replace the original one that’s been on the market.
Hey I’m making a snake and I was wondering does anyone know if there is 9 or 10 pieces that make up his body?
Those are the same ones I saw at UK Toy Fair a few weeks ago
that’s what Im saying.
I believe he has 10 pieces, but only 9 of them have the purple stripe on them. The tenth is next to his head and bare.
In that case, then maybe not. But still, with enough interest, Hasbro may revive their planned accurate Potato Head, which was what I thought Doomseeker was talking about, but I guess I should’ve read closer.
I’m making a snake myself, he’s pretty good so far! I’m not sure if he would be considered “film accurate” but i like him. I might just paint the purple parts instead of getting the pattern.
For anyone interested in making a Snake toy, I have some scans I took from the Art of Toy Story as well as some of high resolution images from the Disneyland Toy Story parade:
FYI the decals are really just purple cross X stickers, but I made mine using rubber tape which I etched the pattern into.
I have a question about the snake. How long is it supposed to be? If you google Jointed Snake in Shopping a bunch come up. They are 15" long. Are they similar?
I really do not know for snake ><
Between, i’m about to start the pictures for my ken outfit (sadly the weather sucks, as i’m taking the pics outside, waiting for a better weather for)
do you like how i ve managed it ? Its a bit minimalist, but anyway
Thats awesome Emma-in-Candyland!
Thanks a lot:) can’t wait to show you the other outfits!
Oooooohh! Are you/ Have you going to make a Nehru Jacket?
Of course, that looks amazing! Do you plan on doing this for all the Ken outfits you have? If so, do you plan on getting a complete set?
Thanks Yeah I plan to take a picture like this for all fo my Ken outfit , i have to customize some of them (like putting the K on the baseball jacket and on the wide awake stripes outfit)
Otherwise, I almost got the complete set
Actually just need the tennis top and the “night scene” one,n but though of making one as there s not glitter on it… anyway
I have not plannned to make the nehru jacket, maybe i should ? haha actually got no skills in making doll outfit so i might ask someoneelse
But yeah that’s cool happy that you liked it ^^
That’s about how long my base for Snake was. I took out a couple of links (he should have 9 or 10 links in total, I think), making him closer to 12" with head and tail.
I am in the process of listing my entire Toy Story collection on ebay and was wondering if any of you guys know how much the larger sized Medicom Rocky (NIB) is worth? I have looked everywhere and cannot find it’s value!?!
If anyone is looking for anything specific for their collection, let me know!
