Toy Story Replicas (No trading-related posts please)

Hi,
Whatever you do, do NOT use “Upload attachment.” It will create an error and lock the thread. This is how I was told to post a pic:

you can’t upload an image straight to the forums, but you can go to imageshack.us and upload one on there. Then after you upload, copy the “direct link”, come to the forums and press the ‘Img’ button above the writing box and press paste!

Do NOT click on the link. When I did there was malicious software in it for some reason. I googled imageshack and clicked on their link.

I know how to upload images, but the problem is that its not an image. Its actually a word document, so I don’t know how to attach that. I just emailed it to Pixar Builder, so maybe he can figure out how to get the document onto the site.

Oh! You’re welcome. lol. Kidding! Can you do a screen shot of it? And save that and then post that?

I thought about screenshots, but the whole page won’t fit on my screen without me having to shrink down the image.

Plus, then people could not change things. Its not really finished, but I’m sort of done with it. I made only the cover and the pages lotso looks at when reseting buzz. I couldn’t make the back cover, and only got half of the page that hamm looks at when turning buzz to spanish mode.

Reaper,
What about Google Docs? You’re supposed to be able to post docs with links and others view them. I’ve never used it though.

I don’t think Google docs is compatible with Microsoft Word, I’d have to redo the entire thing directly on the google docs page. Its a lot more work than I’d like to do. If anyone wants a copy though, I’d be happy to email it to you like I did for Pixar Builder.

Pictures of the New Potato Heads:

They look awful, I completely hate them, you have no idea. I know they were never meant to look like the ones from toy story, but they are even further from the toy story one than what we have now, it would be impossible to modify this into something passable. I think this official ends any slim chance that we had of hasbro ever trying to improve the toy story potatoes, because now they probably won’t even sell the crappy old ones anymore.

Ignoring the toy story perspective, I think they are a serious downgrade from the potatoes they’ve been selling since the 90s. I can’t see how these are supposed to be an improvement at all, I’m not a fan at all.

Woah! Those are really terrible and not what we expected at all! I’m really disappointed, now we have to see if Thinkway made a prototype of Mrs.Potatohead.

Pretty good deal! A friend of mine bid onit, found one cheaper, and is now stuck as the high bidder. His maximum bid is 25 bucks so if anyone wants him, start at 25 :stuck_out_tongue:

My lord those potatoes are the worst thing ive ever seen… Cant wait to see some pics of the new TSC lineup.

There are hundreds of upload options for you. Assuming you don’t already have a personal server or anything you can use sites like megaupload, yousendit, and sendspace.

Anyway,I just saw the potatoheads, wow, my eyes are vomiting. but do you think the potatoheads are using the same potato as the TSC? Its hard to tell but if they are customization might be possible. At the very least those of us wanting to make a Mrs potatohead can now do so without buying a TSC one. But only if the potatoes are the same, and has two eye sockets.

I’m positive that those potatoes do not use anything close to the TSC body. The whole sculpt is a lot slimmer than the current potato heads, and the TSC is even wider than those.

You can also tell they won’t have two eye holes because of how crooked the eyes are.

Does anyone else think that these new potatoes might not even have the “tater tushes” to hold the parts, I see that as the biggest issue with these from the perspective of parents buying them for their kids. They added the compartment for mother who didn’t like their kids losing the parts, and I don’t think these have it anymore. Bad move Hasbro.

I actually think they’re kind of cute, in a sickeningly stylized kind of way. Certainly not TSC replica standards but I don’t think that’s what they’re trying to be.

In a sense, they sort of remind me of a Potato Head version of the Toy Story 3 Buddy Packs.

Just posting the image again to anyone who hasn’t seen them.

I don’t see what you mean by this, the buddy packs are 2 inches tall, these are the full sized replacements for hasbro’s current potato heads, and they look a lot worse than what they are selling now.

Well I don’t think they’re going to be replacing the current body, as opposed to simply offering the toy as an alternative. The original potato is way too classic for them to cease production.

When I said they looked similar to the Toy Story Buddy Packs I was talking about how those figures and their 7 inch (ie [1][2] counterparts are both extremely stylized and simplistic versions of the characters, which is exactly how I see the new Potato Head like. Is it as good as new original? No, but I fully welcome any changes they decide to do with their product.

I really do get the impression that these are replacing the current potatoes though. And I guess its a matter of personal taste, but I don’t like the look at all.

The original potato body has been around for decades now, so I don’t think they’d be willing to completely shut production down on such a classic toy. Most likely it’ll be like how Ohio Art came out with their EAS Freestyle last year but still kept their original model available too.

I’m certainly hoping so, after around 30 years, the current Mr. Potato Head is so iconic.

I’d buy it in a heartbeat, but USA only…

Luckily, he was able to work it out with the sller to cancel the bid
