It kind of makes me mad that a $15 wind up lenny toy can go for $100 or more. That’s more than the average person can afford. Why doesn’t Disney make these toys available to everyone so we don’t have to pay a ridiculous price so someone can make money off of it!
To be fair, you have to pay to see Toy Story on Ice to get the Lenny…$100 is ridic, but making a little bit of money seems to be warranted.
But I do agree, Disney Store could make a lot of money, making little things like Lenny, Wheezy, Troikas, etc…little characters that the only version available are rare. Disney pumps out bobbleheads ad other stupid crap though.
If anyone lives near Liverpool I saw a Woody,Buzz,Jessice and Lotso in The Entertainer near John Lewis,Lego Store, Disney Store and Matthew Street(aka beatles cavern and and beatles stuff!)
It was in Illinois back in February I believe, and I knew that it would be my one and only chance to get Lenny. The cheapest tickets I could find were going for $90+, which was more than I was willing to spend considering I had zero interest in the show. Instead I planned to go after a show had started, and either buy tickets at reduced prices from scalpers, or beg security to let me visit the merchandise table and leave.
I got there after the show had started. I walked up to arena and noticed no one outside, security or scalper. I opened a door, walked inside, and made a bee-line for the Lennys. No security, no ticket check, nothing. I saw there were people standing outside the entrance to the seating, but that was it. I bought four of them and left.
Ironically, the one that just sold on ebay could’ve covered my ticket price.
The googly eyes shouldn’t be an issue…i’d be surprised if they are actually “custom made”…by 40mm diameter eyes at any craft store and they fit perfectly…absolute most is $1 per set.
I’ve got one more left. I originally bought extras to trade, but no one had anything I wanted. I’m pretty much just looking for a Medicom Rocky at this point. If someone has an extra and wants to swap, I’ll throw in some extra cash as well. If not, I’ll probably auction the last one off in October.
Slink’s right about the eyes. I add an adhesive to the back of them so they’ll stay on, but that’s the extent of my customizing.
Well when it goes up tell me and Ill ask my uncle to bid on it he still owes me a birthday gift I doubt he will win it look at the prices people will pay If I was rich I would do it to.
That’s right, it’s the lenny on ice toy. To recognize easily the “on ice”, you just have to look at the scroll on the top. if it’s big and integrated with the toy it’s Burger King version or another. If the scroll is thin, small and movable, it’s the “on ice” Lenny.
