Toy Story Replicas (No trading-related posts please)

They’ve been lacquered

Are you planning to order any shipments later down the road like I said I am very interested but don’t have the money to put on it right now anytime after December I would be able to afford it.

Message me when the time comes, the company might let me order the few extras they made.

Just picked up my Troikas from Slink this afternoon and they look AMAZING! I made a set myself earlier this year, and while they weren’t perfect, they were pretty good. Slink’s completely blew mine out of the water. If anyone’s on the edge about getting a set if more are made available, get them. They are well worth it.

Wampar - if you don’t mind me asking - what bodice did you use for duckie?? it’s just that I can’t find a baby bodice small enough! 8D

Again, awesome work on your troikas Slink!! They really look great!

I am sorry, I REALLY don’t remember. I think I got it at Toys R Us. It was just a generic plastic baby doll that I took a pair of scissors to.

Surprise surprise my friends :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s fine!!

Thanks for the info. anyway Wampar

Can’t wait to see it Emma!

Wasn’t sure if this fit better in the Replicas thread, or the Toons thread…since it is about actual toys being made, I figured I would share it here.

Just read an interview with Angus MacLane who directed Small Fry…and here is what I took note of:

"Did you make sure that the toys would be things that could actually be made?

MacLANE: Yeah, they’re going to make some toys, I’m excited to say, and they can use direct-to-digital output. I’m not sure how they’re going to solve some of the cheating we did with the transforming T-bone, but I think they’ll be able to handle Ghost Burger pretty well. When we went into it, I was like, “We’ve gotta do it right, so if they make the toys, they can just be the right thing.” I think they’re going to make them the real scale. They’re going to do it, so that you can have your own support group.

Where will they be available for sale?

MacLANE: I think they’ll be sold as a Disney Store exclusive."

I am almost hyperventilating I am so excited by this news. So, keeping my eyes and ears open.

Re: Small Fry Toys

Excellent news! At the very least I want a mini-Buzz, warrior mermaid with blue hair and trident and the transforming steak! The mini-Zurg is also cool looking!

I just hope they’re available on Disney Store online for non-US fans to purchase!

It looks like Buzz and Zurg are in the display cases inside of Fast Food Places so we might see some more characters from Buzz Lightyear of Star Command like Booster, Mira Nova or XR?
It’s a good possibility

They are in a display case you can see the zip ties on their feet I also have a feeling Zurg has another star command character to his left.

The fact that they’re on display still begs the question WHY IS THIS FICTIONAL FAST FOOD PLACE PROMOTING A FRANCHISE THAT CAME AND WENT 10+ YEARS AGO?
None of the toys in Sunnyside knew who Buzz was, and Bonnie didn’t recognise his character when Andy gave him to her, so we know that the Buzz Lightyear craze would have died off years ago. Unless there’s a reboot of the franchise in-universe I really don’t see what Buzz and Zurg are doing being promoted.

I can’t wait for the toys of these to come out though. I’m hoping Disney Store make them all (including Buzz, Zurg and Neptuna!) but they’ll probably only do a couple.

A reboot in universe makes as much sense as anything if you ask me. Look at all the other real reboots we get these days. It would make perfect sense wouldn’t it? The fact that their all chibi styled seems to suggest that’s what the reboot looks similar to. Maybe it’s a version of the buzz lightyear show aimed more at younger kids.

Cool to hear they’ll be making these into real toys, haha. I need that T-bone. Unless the real thing doesnt turn out to be that accurate. I wonder what kind of cheating their talking about. It at least looks possible, but I wonder why they didn’t just design it in a way that would be possible if they knew it would probably happen.

If we are going to over-analyze, then let me toss this into the ring: Sure, no one in Sunnyside knows of Buzz Lightyear…though they do find an instruction manual for him…AND it is a Daycare where a Ken Doll has never heard of Barbie. No one had ever heard of Barbie. It is possible that Buzz and Zurg never went out of style and the toys somehow just weren’t exposed to his existence. If they had never heard of the single most popular doll to have ever been manufactured, then not knowing about a faux space ranger is certainly possible. Not to mention Zurg does make his way to Sunnyside in the end credits…so the toys are still out there.

Very true. There’s really no reason to think Buzz lightyear isn’t like Power Rangers or something that just keeps going and going. Most of these toys are probably just concerned with their own little world.

Has anybody who’s made their own TSC Mr. Potato Head eyes considered producing a bunch of them and distributing them to people on this forum (similar to Slink’s Troikas but without a company making them)? I know Tyler Haslett supposedly was going to do this forever ago, but that obviously didn’t work out. I’d definitely be interested in buying these from whoever would make them, and I’m sure many others on this forum would be, too.
