^^^^ Hey toystory21, haven’t spoken to you yet cause Ive only just got back abroad, so welcome! Them figures look quite nice, I suspect they’re Disney Park exclusives? Does that Zurg talk because I’m now starting to try and think of a way to create a Zurg due to the news of Thinkway not planning on creating any more TSC toys???
I doubt he does, but either way he isnt in scale
Ah, well! It was worth a shot!!
Personally, I can’t see any other characters bein made at all by Thinkway and heres why:
But I do just have a gut feeling that we will one day get a Zurg from Thinkway. Call me crazy, but the fact that they made a fully working prototype U-Command Zurg does make me think positive! I would just be thrilled to have something that is close the Zurg in the movie.
It’s getting there, but still there’s something that really doesn’t make me feel happy to buy a chuckles unless he’s got the correct type of hair and the solid head like in the movie
Its the same bad sculpt as before. Only difference I see is the button. Interesting though that they would put out a new version of it out. Nice box. Its good their actually showing the product instead of that lie of a render printed on a box.
I wonder who they got to voice it. Is it all Blake Clark, or are some Jim Varney lines in there as well?
The sculpt isnt THAT bad. Its no worse than TSC Potato Head or some of the lotso’s with their poor stitching. The main flaw of this guy have always been the nnoying strings. When I said they were so close i meant it because they added a cool new feature, and all they had to do to make it an instant buy was not include the stupid forehead string.
Not sure how your comparing Mr potatohead to this. I mean, potatoheads sculpt is perfect. Yes the eyes are fused, yes it has those bizarre legs. But despite needing to fuse the eyes they still gave us separate holes when they didn’t need to, making customizing possible. The legs were something even I had the ability to correct. It doesn’t have a back panel, but neither did potatohead in toy story so that is forgiven in my eyes. If we’re talking about the sculpt itself though, the actual shape of the potato, as well as the pieces, all that was perfect. The eyes are the equivalent of the string, something that just had to be compromised on. They did great with things that had to be changged in potatoheads case.
I cant say that about slink. You cant just ignore the string/hole and have an accurate slink. You have to make his tail the correct shape (more cone like), make his legs longer, give him ankle joints, (non functional to cut costs would be fine) and his snout needs reshaping. It actually looks decent from a specific angle, but any others will reveal his lower jaw is too wide and thick. Fix these and then you would have a good sculpt. This still wouldn’t address things like the ears being brown on both sides, or being too shiny or the string hole, but it would be a start and something I could live with.
As for Lotso, being a plush I gotta give that a pass because unless you go with a polyfoam base your just not going to get a consistent Lotso shape. It would be far too expensive. Slinky on the other hand, they could fix without too much trouble. At least the base things I mentioned. They have the digital files, why aren’t they using them?
Considering Slinky isnt even made using the digital files because its not Thinkway making him, its not fair to just expect he match the files perfectly. There would be flaws regardless since they arent able to use the files when making him. You already said Potato Heads eyes were the equivalent of slinky’s string. Thats the exactr kind of thing I mean. Yes, you can customize spud head to look slightly better. You can also customize slinky to an extent. I think it’s perfectly fair to compare their flaws. The fact is, we shouldnt have to “fix” our toys, so I think anytime that needs to be done for the toy to be right, the toy isnt quite good enough.
Is that Chuckles the only one selling ?? and where did they get that!

The extent that potatohead needs to be customized to be passable to is far less than slinky though in my opinion. Thats what I’m getting at. Im not sure how you would even go about making the types of changes Im talking about to slink. Not being experienced with that kind of thing. I mean, shortening legs is easy compared to lengthening. I have no idea where I would find or how I could make a tail spring that looks the way it needs to. The only ideas I have for the rest of it would be to possibly sand down the glossy plastic to rid him of that glossyness, and for the ears I could either color the under side of the ears brown with something, or buy some type of leather or foax laether material and cut him some new ears. Anything else is probably out of my league, if those arent already.
They make produts specifically for dulling the shine on plastic/paint. Customizers use it a lot to dull their paints. Im not sure what its called exactly, but im sure its on google. But really youre speaking for yourself. The customization of spud head may be easy for you but not for everyone. Bottom line, customization is needed when it shouldnt be.
Wow! By saying its a Disney Store exclusive leads me to believe that these figures were either the prototypes that were meant to be sold when Toy Story 3 came but never made it to store shelves or its an upcoming new release??

Its a plush, that goes with the other ones (that people used to buy before TSC). Those are only disney exclusives because disney makes them, haha. They finally decided to capitalize on Chuckles I guess. Too little to late though, at this point why not go all in a make something at least the right size
it looks crappy, but its a start I guess. The talking slinky gives me hope that the ds tries to fill the thinkway gap.
GAH.
Even with all those flaws, the biggest one being his height (or lack of), I went ahead and ordered a Chuckles. It’s been almost a year since I last got a new addition and I’m not going to lie… it’s a little bit exciting. Oh boy, that sounds lame.
I’ve been working on my Sculpey crafting and I’m pretty sure I could make him some new shoes and possibly hands. Making the shoes a little bigger should also give him a nice little boost in height. I’m not sure what to do with his head and hair though… in the film it looks like he has that sort of wispy Troll hair. I might be able to make him a new head as well.
Anyway, Chuckles is going to be going under quite a bit of customisation to make him look at least semi-accurate.
My guess is that Disney waited to release him because they wanted people to pay to buy the build it yourself Chuckles which costs a lot more 40+
I sorta got a gut instinct that this is the best that we’re gonna get for Chuckles obviously Pixar doesn’t regard him as a very important figure so toy company’s I thinking we should we? But still we got this guy which is most accurate version of him out there being sold so that’s still a start!
Re: Chuckles
It looks pretty good to me. Not a replica, but probably as close as we’re going to get.
I’ll have to start obsessively checking Disney Store online for when stock becomes available.
