I don’t know. That one may talk, but this one clearly has light up eyes and mouth. And I am fairly positive that the other one is way undersized. I think this one is pretty fantastic, and mind you without seeing it in scale yet, better than I anything I was thinking we would get. Here’s hoping that this sells well and leads to a Trixie or Stretch or Chuckles!

We can pretty easily work out a rough estimate as to how tall this Zurg will be…
As you can see, the ‘Disney store’ card thing is on display next to Zurg. Another one (which I’m assuming is the same size) is next to Rex, who is also next to that colour changing boat thing’s box. In another image, the colour changing boat’s box is on display next to the colour changing Rex… who is already available (minus the hat) in a 2-pack with Chunk and measures in at 2 inches tall.
The box, when measured up with a scale, comes in at 8 inches tall.
Moving on to the next picture, the card measures in at around 2.25 inches compared to the box.
Finally, comparing the card up against Zurg, our favourite evil robot dad turns out to be around 12.25 inches tall.
The TSC Buzz is roughly 12 inches tall, so this Zurg should be around the same height, if not a little bit taller.
Based on the picture of Buzz and Zurg together from the TS3 video game trailer, Zurg should be a couple of inches taller than Buzz.
Of course, those measurements are probably completely inaccurate, but at least we have a pretty basic idea of how tall he’ll end up being. Based on all the camera angles, skewing and depth of field in all those different pictures, Zurg will probably end up being taller than 12.25 inches tall.
At least now we know he won’t end up being 5 or 6 inches.

YEA! Zurg! Even though i don’t care about having a Zurg at least there is going to be one! And knowing me i will probably buy one if he is the right size. But as Draik has wonderfully scaled it pretty good it looks like i just might buy one. I’m crossing my fingers that it be a little bit bigger so he looks better with Buzz. Again, Great job on the whole scale thing Draik, i could never do that. 
I had bad feeling that once Thinkway was done we wouldn’t be getting any new toys but it looks like Disney has really jumped on this opportunity and we will be getting some unexpected characters! I am getting pretty excited 
I really do hope Disney releases a full size Trixie to go with the TSC Rex. That’s what i’m really missing in my collection is Trixie and i will basically be done collecting when i get her.

So i did a fast break down of Zurg on what we get from this picture. I understand it’s really not needed but it was interesting to look at and how this toy works.I did not see anything for sound effects(Like speaker holes) but i bet there is one. {You may need to open the image in a new tab and zoom in.}
Really hoping they will fix him up a bit before releasing. But i’m putting my hands down that this is just a proto-type.
So hope they do a stinky pete! Can’t believe they r making more toy story toys. Am so pleased with Disney.

So are we in agreement that this looks to be a few inches too short? Its a shame, they were so close.
One thing that kinda bugs me is the arm balls (if I can coin that term, lol) they look too small. I guess this gives him more articulation, but I would gladly sacrifice some range of movement for correct arm thickness. The shade of purple might also be a bit dark and more sparkly than it should.
But I guess I’m getting too nitpicky for something I wasn’t expecting to happen in the first place.
I’ll probably end up settling and getting him despite any issues I have with him. I really need to see him next to TSC buzz though.
Is this the U command Zurg we heard about a while back? or at least the same sculpt?
Also, I disagree with one of those observations in that pic, I don’t think his waist looks rubber at all. At least not like TSC buzz’s. It’s too shiny for for that. Its more than likely just standard molded plastic, no articulation beyond twisting left and right.
A new Zurg!
Zurg looks pretty good, although I would have personally preferred a non-metallic finish to his paint (it didn’t strike me as being metallic in TS2) and I think his hands are meant to be grey instead of black. BUT, it is still a fantastic looking figure and one that I’ll no doubt want to add to my collection as a replacement for the Room Guard Zurg which I currently have.
While Draik’s breakdown seems to be accurate. Based on the depth perception, I think Zurg is a little taller than 12.25 inches. I’ve seen those playsets with a buddy figures. If that box was only 8 inches, it would be approximately the size of a piece of paper (8 1/2 by 11). I believe those playsets to be a little bit bigger than that. I think the box is probably closer to 9.5 to 10 inches. Based on how big the buddy pack figure looks in a real life compared to picture, I’d say the depth perception is adding 15%-25% in the height of the figure, so thats another reason.
Based on this, I would say Zurg is a minimum of 13 inches and could be as big as 14.25". Which its still probably a little short, but…I think more people will be satisfied with height.
On a side note, at first I also thought Rex was drastically undersized. But the more I examined, I think he’s actually bigger (when you change the leg angle) than the smaller Thinkway rex, but still not quite as big as TSC
I dunno, just my two cents, for me this looks like a definite purchase
I tweeted Lee unkrich about the scale, maybe with any luck we’ll get a response.
My gut tells me 14 inches is being too generous. That would definitely be close enough for me to consider in scale, as I’ve always assumed him to be about 15 inches in the movies. I just have a lot of doubts about Disney store putting out a figure that big (without going into a more super sized robot category). The target demo, kids, (not the more serious collectors) probably don’t realize he should be taller than buzz and would be satisfied with just matching buzz’s height.
Worth nothing one of the mods on that site estimates it to be about 12. I’m not sure if he saw it in person but I kinda get that impression.
I think its a minimum of 12…14 might be generous…but I think 12 is under…and its hard to remember something liker that from memory…only time will tell…even 1 inch on buzz would be significant enough for a nice look

So beyond the fact that we know it will be out in a few months, is there any more indication about when these will be released? I NEED Zurg.
