For me, what eliminates it from TSC territory is screw holes. We can easily see screw holes and if it was a TSC toy it would not have screw holes. Know i’m not saying TSC toys don’t have screw holes but they didn’t have any that stand out so much like the Zurg’s screw holes. But hey i could be wrong cause it is a prototype…

While I don’t think its TSC, its not because of the screw holes. the only two I see are below the waist, which has been twisted. This means there are none visible from the front unless I’m missing some. None in the front is consistent with what TSC has done.

I don’t think its TSC for other reasons. One, they flat out said they were done. I could give you some leeway if they said they were not doing more this year, but saying they don’t plan on anymore at all, that should mean something. I know they lied before which is why that’s not my only reason. The second reason is that toy story is no longer center of attention. It feels too late to be continuing the line, especially as a Disney store exclusive. Also its my opinion it would be more screen accurate if it were TSC. The arms and arm socket joins would not be as skinny as they are. I’m not sure they would do the metallic paint either. A lot of this is of course gut instinct. I could be proven wrong. I definitely think this wouldn’t be the only one in wave 4 if that were the case. Which would be great, since I assume this wave would give us the prospector.

I think Zurg could easily be made by Thinkway, but not be a part of the ‘official’ TSC - like Chunk, Sparks and Twitch were.

Could be, but that line also has lotso, rex, and bullseye, all of which got TSC…if this is thinkway, there is a 90% chance that the TSC isn’t over…they’ve lied about it before…it would be hysterical if zurg showed up on vivid again

I don’t think having a non TSC version automatically means it’ll probably get a TSC counterpart. As mentioned, we have gotten others without one, why would Zurg be any different?

Toy story collection or not i am pleased tent are releasing this an carrying in with toy story toys. Ideally I want it to be a collection one but we will just have to wait a few more months. Am hopin that this sells really well and they make more different toys! I personally think other figures will depend on this line they are releasing.

Im not saying that Zurg will definitely have a TSC counterpart…but if they are still making toy story toys, I severely doubt the TSC line is over. It would be one thing if this was a another version of buzz, woody and jessie. This is a new character. If it’s thinkway, I severely doubt it a random almost right sized Zurg, and thats it

They’d honestly be better served stopping the “waves” thing.

If they came out with one character per year (at christmas) it would sell out and keep demand high.

Many people would be willing to buy one $50 toy per year, but its hard to keep up with a $350-$400 wave.

In addition, what other heavy hitters are even left?

I don’t see any future TSC beyond those characters (barring any potential main characters from a Toy Story 4)

At most, that would be two waves…

One (maybe 2) per year, is probably the best strategy.

I agree, I finally jumped the bandwagon and emailed Thinkway myself. I think Slink’s idea makes perfect sense if they sell one $50.00 toy a holiday season that sounds feasible.

According to the TS2 commentary, he did inspire the zurg vision, but i dontr think he had LEDs. There was a zurg i saw on ebay that was like six inches that had a form of zurg vision, but most of the back of his head was the clear red plastic. Kinda lame. If it was a collection item, it may be possible, but anything less than that and i think its too complicated and not cost effective for them to try doing both.

We can pretty easily work out a rough estimate as to how tall this Zurg will be…
As you can see, the ‘Disney store’ card thing is on display next to Zurg. Another one (which I’m assuming is the same size) is next to Rex, who is also next to that colour changing boat thing’s box. In another image, the colour changing boat’s box is on display next to the colour changing Rex… who is already available (minus the hat) in a 2-pack with Chunk and measures in at 2 inches tall.

The box, when measured up with a scale, comes in at 8 inches tall.

Moving on to the next picture, the card measures in at around 2.25 inches compared to the box.

Finally, comparing the card up against Zurg, our favourite evil robot dad turns out to be around 12.25 inches tall.

The TSC Buzz is roughly 12 inches tall, so this Zurg should be around the same height, if not a little bit taller.
Based on the picture of Buzz and Zurg together from the TS3 video game trailer, Zurg should be a couple of inches taller than Buzz.

Of course, those measurements are probably completely inaccurate, but at least we have a pretty basic idea of how tall he’ll end up being. Based on all the camera angles, skewing and depth of field in all those different pictures, Zurg will probably end up being taller than 12.25 inches tall.
At least now we know he won’t end up being 5 or 6 inches.

I found a buddypack playset the same exact size the partysaurus rex box…it is 9 1/8" not 8"

Zurg is at minimum 13 inches
