I have started the buzz box, but I’m not sure its going too well. The main thing is making sure it’ll fold together correctly and I’m not sure I have it right yet. I have not tested the basic shape yet.
I’m curious to see if Emma’s Zurg box will as well. Its different but similar in that its not a straight forward box design, parts of the front need to bend backward at a certain angle, so the sides need to accommodate that just right or it doesn’t work. I don’t know how to do the math for that. Even though the Japanese guy that made something to base ours off off, it still doenst give us a perfect template since he took photos of the screen rather than showed us direct feed screenshots.
The japanese guy made some sort of a dice pattern, so basically he just use extremety that he had to bent and stick each part with glue. that means the back, front and side, are not joined. they are just seperate templates that need to be glued with eachother, it’s really easy, there’s no math solutions here lol.
Also, I think the base is off, it think zurg buzz is like buzz box, means, the sort of rocket are on the same picture of each side, don’t know if i’m clear xD
That guy didnt provide us access to his templates just his pics of his finished box. Im not sure on the exact measurements but they are being made to fit the actual toys,.
hmm. Well, shoots. Things are sorta done differently with the Pixar stuff, it seems, than from what I am used to. I customize, but with 6 inch figures, mostly. I’ve done papercraft, but only was able to print on 11x17 without what I wanted being outrageously huge. I guess because the Toy Story stuff is so much bigger, its an entirely different game… I don’t know how to even really DEAL with Templates, or whatever. Papercrafts usually come in PDF files and I am able to print from that…
A template is nothing more than a design, its not like a file type or anything. If these were made smaller you ould technically print them but at the size they are, I dont think the types of printers people usually have at home are able to print at that size. Plus itd be too flimsy with normal printer paper.
Howdy folks.
My Disney Store in Orlando had Zurg in yesterday. I am thrilled with him. I did feel that the tube leading to the ion blaster was a little too long, so I shortened it…but otherwise I’m not changing a thing. He is just about perfect in my eyes. And my biggest relief is that he actually fit on the shelf I wanted to keep him on in the display. If he had been even one milimeter taller he would not have fit. But he did. So, Yay!
grr wampar, i was meant to receive it today, but needed to pay a tax and didnt have the cash for it --, so annoyed xD! they could mention it when we have to pay extra fees --, bloody hate this!
Anyway, zurg looks so good XD!! it makes me even more excited to have it, need to wait monday now
I actually live close to Orlando did you find it at the DS store in the Florida Mall? Also how many were left I don’t wanna drive all the way out there just to find an empty shelf.
Is zurgs gun and pack removable in any sort of way?
What are his eyes like, can you see within them or are they opaque, I guess? Foggy/semitransparent or whatevs (basically, would you be able to see through them if a hole was placed in the back?) Assuming the head is hollow…
My expeiernce don’t wait for the uk disney store. We never got Hamm, the luxo ball. Most stuff don’t come to uk. Even the wave with dolly etc didn’t go to disney went to amazon and other places like that.
