the reasons why part 1 and 2 are separated is just because the single image was pretty stinkin massive. the images, when opened with Paint, are 24x24 inches, and should be in scale with Buzz, if that makes sense? I… don’t know how I am going to explain this to the print shops tomorrow…
How’s Zurg’s box coming along, Emma??
AAAAAAAAND I just got back from Staples and called Fedex Office. basically, Staples said it would be about 60 for laminated copies of the box. Fed Ex said it would be 7.50 per foot, and there are 12 feet total.
This got really pricy, really quickly. I’m going to go to some of the smaller copy/print shops tomorrow to hopefully get a better deal.
I doubt a smaller shop will have a better deal. They pay more for their materials than the big guys do. But maybe someone will have a deal for first time customers or something.
Only have the sides to finish now, shouldn’t take too long i guess ^^’
welp, I broke the box down to be 11x17, took the new files to staples: when they printed it, for SOME REASON everything shrank down about an inch on each side (for the one image they were printing). Dont know what the deal is there… GUH! this is hard.
can someone tell me the height and the width of the following replicas: Woody’s Doodle pad, THE BIG ONE rocket.
Well i’ve been doing the box like it is on the picture from the japanese guy, but i actually have no idea how he fixed the sides to the front and back, by thinking about it really hard xD, i concluded it was making no sense xD! So is there anyone smart enough to figure out the pattern of the zurg box? x)

I finished the life sized buzz box! Pics soon:)
here is the buzz box. I broke it down into panels that fit within 11X17 inch cardstock, printed it myself at FedEx Office, and put it all together. THEN, once the Template was whole again, I glued THAT to a couple more GIANT sheets of cardstock and cut it out again. THHEEEEN I taped up the tabs and where the tabs go on the inside with masking tape. THEN I laminated it and cut it all out. THEN I cut out the masking tape with a scalpel/Exacto Knife. FINALLY, I glued and taped it all together.
When I printed it, MOST of the tabs weren’t distinguished (I made them on the spot once the pages were printed), SO I have to mod the files with where the tabs are. This should only take me a day or 2. Im really tired right now and dont really wanna do it tonight but if I get a second wind, I will. 
Buzz fits PERFECTLY within the box. Right now, I am masking taping the Buzz we have to be spray painted Glow in the Dark in those areas on him, and plan on doing the same to the 2 pack.

Oh, come on, it’s easy! It’s just a matter of connecting A to A, B to B, etc.
And I do plan on taking additional shots soon. The one above was my “oh my god I actually did it” shot. I’d like to get Buzz painted before I take more photos.
Looks pretty good, did you happen to edit the back from the original (the barcode etc.)? Otherwise, the dimensions should be perfect, Buzz must look great in it.
thanks! yea, the barcode is actually the Toy Story Collection Utility Belt Buzz barcode. I also added the 4 details on the upper part of the back, too. I’ll do a detailed writeup once both boxes (Buzz and Zurg) are completed. I’m trying to help Emma out, I hope these can be done in time… eep!!! under 2 weeks until my personal deadline!!!

Had quite an ordeal with UPS to get the package, but it IS here! now to break it down:
First of all, BUZZ IS DIFFERENT FROM THE USUAL FIGURES. He is sorta a light gray instead of white, his Purple and green have a shiny finish, and the gray in the elbows, shoulders, and knees is an alternate shade, too. Still, he looks very nice! I still wish they had made him even more worth it with Glow in the Dark features and/or the utility belt, but I can do those myself.
ZURG!!! WOW. He’s ended up being a little shorter than a Thinkway Woody, but taller than Buzz for sure.I already added the “scope thing” on the Ion blaster. Which, btw, the Ion blaster’s handle and Zurgs right hand are all a single sculpt, so there isn’t any way to take the blaster off (I was previously under the impression that the blaster was just glued on. boohissboo!) the Eyes and teeth light up independently, thats wicked. and yea, there is a little circle in the back to MAYBE add Zurg vision. I am trying to figure out if I can look through his eyes to see the inside… it looks like his top head piece thing is glued on, so I maybe able to access his head via that.
I am trying to figure out a way to make the ion blaster a functional toy in some way… maybe rig the hose to where one could blow into it and launch a ball out of the blaster? I dunno… to be continued.
I really hope the Zurg box gets finished in time for me to put it together and get both figures in their boxes for my kids birthday. otherwise, I guess I’ll just give her the 2 pack and the Buzz Box separately.
OH, also, I totally found Glow in the Dark Spraypaint! I spent 2 days taping up the Disney Store Buzz we have and added a few coats and he looks GREAT! a quick charge and he REALLY glows. like… BRIGHT. its stinkin awesome. I will say, though: if you plan on taping him up and doing the same, be careful with the decals. his chest one peeled right off and now I dont know what to do. I wish I had a properly sized one to replace it with but dont know where to look. 
I used all purpose masking tape. I wish Disney Store didn’t cover up the screw holes, I would have loved to have broken him down and painted him that way, but oh well.
Again, it looks great, I even noticed how the area that holds down is wrists is raised; nice touch. Can you get a side view in there? One of the main problems with the TSC box was that it was really thick due to the extra packaging.
finally my new disney zurg and buzz came today!
most impressed with the size of zurg and i think the voice is pretty good. buzz is cool too although very basic but will keep him purely as part of the set and for his chopping arm action! to be honest though i think both figures are cheaply made and very plastic, might have to add some yellow balls for zurgs blaster to finish him off, over all pleased.
