Toy Story Replicas (No trading-related posts please)

Happy Christmas fellow Toy Story lovers!!!

yeah i know the eye brows are off but I ran out of time the program I was using is at school and I cant bring those models into my program at home.

well its not computer animation its just computer modeling

Merry Christmas!

Iā€™m not very computer savy haha

here are the pegs the eye brows donā€™t have any thing on them so Iā€™m gonna put some sticky on it so it can be attached any where and as for the angry eyes Iā€™m gonna build them when i get get back to school because thatā€™s where my models are and i will also revisit the eyebrows as Iā€™m not happy with how they came out.

Latest addition to my collection. Finally got Zurg. (Christmas gift).

This is just a quick shot from my iphone, Iā€™ll take a better one later. This isnā€™t the final set up, clearly Ive ran out of room. Haha This thing is huge.

did the zurg come with buzz or was it the single pack one

It came with Buzz (not pictured). It was bought before I even knew the single pack was going to happen.

so what modeling software do you use kyle I might be able to send you my models if you like

I really only know Anim8or, which is a small freeware program. Its gotten long in the tooth though, it hasnt kept up to current modeling standards. I need to learn something else. Ive started experimenting with Zbrush but Iā€™m not great at it yet.

Oh it wonā€™t work then I built it in autodesk inventor

Can autodesk not export to a format like OBJ? it wouldnt bring over any color information, but that shouldnt be a big deal. I assume they would have to be painted anyway once printed.

Im not sure its worth the trouble though. If I were to help it would probably be easier to just create it from stratch. Although Im not sure how I would get the pegs right. How do you know what you have will even fit? Did you just eyeball it?

One thing I will point out is an issue that came up with tylerā€™s eyes: you cant just make two identical eyes, you have to make sure the pupils are each looking slightly to the center, or the focus will be off once you get them on an actual potatohead.

Anyway, I saw someone shorten their Zurgā€™s tube. Was that Wampar? To anyone whoā€™s done it how would you suggest going about it? Iā€™m afraid of making it up but its definitely a bit on the long side.

well with the pegs there is a trace tool so I measured the length and width of the peg then traced it in the computer and if I need to make adjustments I can once I get them but Iā€™m positive theyā€™ll match up. and as for the pupils It actually isnā€™t on there I just put it there for reference theyā€™ll have to be painted on. Eventually Iā€™d like to build the toy versions mouth and yeah autodesk is kinda old so it cant be interchanged well sorry
here are the eyes from all angles

For some reason your Zurg looks really short. Maybe itā€™s the pose of the other characters.

I donā€™t see itā€¦heā€™s about the same height as Woody, as you can see there.

Edit: hereā€™s some pics I took with a proper camera.

Excellent photos Kyleā€¦ Still no Zurg yet but I got a good amount of money on Christmas so I just have to take the leap and buy him.

I love how oblivious Bullseye looks in this pic! Incidentally, thatā€™s the exact same kind of shelf I have my Toy Story collection displayed on!

This is what the eyes look like when printed they wont be painted or have pupils

Thatā€™s crazy! I bought that exact same shelving unit to house my TSC items a year or so ago too.
