-saturday-at-wondercon-2007.aspx[/url]

I just discovered this Jim Hill Media article. According to the

article, 12 minutes of Ratatouille will be shown at the Wondercon 2007 this Saturday, March 3, 2007. Brad Bird

will be there to introduce this 12 minute clip. Read the article for more info.

Here’s the event website:

The thing is, I will be 2 blocks from the Moscone

Center in San Francisco that same day for a class that I’m taking. I want to skip my class and go watch these 12

minutes of Ratatouille! It’s great living in the San Francisco area.

After the Oscar Animated Feature

upset, I’m happy that Pixar is back in gear and ready to promote its latest film, Ratatouille. Is anybody as

excited as I am?

UPDATE March 4, 2007: I got back from Wondercon 2007. See my post on page 2

to see my brief update. Large update coming within the next week or so. Midterms this week, so I can’t post my

pics and video quite yet. Check back soon.

UPDATE March 15, 2007: I have decided to not post

a summary of my experience at Wondercon (unless somebody can convince me to take that time). I will upload

pictures and video clips of the event soon, though.

UPDATE April 18, 2007: Here are a few of

the pictures that I took at Wondercon!!! I took dozens, including video, which I have not uploaded yet. Videos

soon.

Me before the

presentation, 6 rows from the front and center. I got there three hours

early!!!

Brad Bird

presents the

Ratatouille!!!

Brad

Bird and Patton Oswalt were absolutely

hilarious.

ec0fd0] Hilary Swank and Crew signed a poster promoting, “The Reaping” for me. It was

awesome!

For the

record, I got this about a year ago, but it’s nice to show off. Brad Bird had another event to go to after he

finished Wondercon.

Awesome news

TheIncredible! Man, I wish I could be there!

Try to get some

pictures…pretty please!

Heheh – thanks for the news,

TheIncredible! Exciting is an understatement, to say the

least:smiley:

Being a resident of the Southern California area, I would easily

be able to travel to San Francisco…if I only had a car and could drive. (snigger) Unfortunately, I won’t be

able to attend this special viewing…even though I’m dying to go and see it.

(Dang-nab it! Heheh…)

Well, at least the film itself is only four months away. :stuck_out_tongue:

Sorry for the double post, but I

just had to say some more after actually reading that article… (snigger)

Alright

– I am absolutely convinced: this is going to be my favorite film in the entire universe…after I see it. I

only read about what the first twelve minutes will be like and I’m already sweating in my seat from the

suspense!

No really, this film has the cutest and most charming plot of anything I’ve ever heard of

before in my life. When I go to Pixar I’m going to tell them that they are in my

debt…

Get ready for spoilers now, as I just have to discuss this:

[spoil]So Remy

sees Linguini ruining a perfectly good pot of soup in the kitchen and decides to go down there and fix it

up…[/spoil]

Charming. I’m captivated already…

[spoil]To actually get

to the soup, Remy has to dodge over and between cooking pots, firey ovens, and more

to reach his goal.[/spoil]

Mr. Jim Hill explains the scene in more detail, and it’s absolutely

hilarious.

[spoil]Remy finally gets to the soup and transforms it into a complete masterpiece.

Unfortunately, Linguini catches him, and then Skinner catches Linguini…thinking that he has been messing around

in his kitchen. While Skinner is yelling his head off at poor Linguini, the latter of whom is trying to explain

what really happened, a scoop of the soup gets taken out and served to a customer – and not just any customer,

but the top critic in town. Just after Skinner fires Linguini, the news comes through that the soup is a complete

hit, and Skinner, thinking that it was Linguini who cooked the award-winning delicacy, rehires the garbage boy

and promotes him to the rank of assistant chef. Too bad Linguini can’t cook…

Another bad thing about

this is that Skinner orders Linguini to dispose of Remy somewhere far away from “his”

restaurant…[/spoil]

I’m absolutely loving this plot. It’s so

smooth and well-crafted, yet hilariously intriguing at the same time.

[spoil]Linguini takes

Remy down to the Seine… (ha – I was right!) …and plans to drown the poor guy in the river. However, he and

Remy end up talking and forming a deal. Linguini will let Remy go if Remy will teach him how to cook. Remy

agrees, and a friendship is born between him and “that garbage boy”. (haha – I was right about that,

too!)[/spoil]

Seriously, I’m surprised I didn’t wet my pants from the excitement. I

cannot wait to see this film!!

Can’t believe

how much stuff I predicted would happen in the film actually happens, too. The whole kitchen scene was completely

different from what I imagined it to be (which is good, especially considering the fact that Pixar’s way of

doing it is much more charming), but some of the little thiings I got correct.

Dang, I can’t wait to

watch this feature!

Very, very interesting.

This film just sounds as though it’s getting better and better!

Yep, this is going to be a

great movie!!!

Wow,

Mitch, you were pretty close! My Story Prediction was

off by a mile. [/i]

Mitch is quite gifted, she has the mind of a

Pixar-writer.

Gasduude - Hahah – yeah,

it’s kinda hard to predict a movie sometimes. I was way off on the kitchen scene myself…except for the party

where Remy jumps onto the trolley.

Googly-Bear - blushes Heheh…thank

you. <img src=“{SMILIES_PATH}/love2.gif” alt=“:loves:” title="In

Love" />

Mitch, I agree with you. I am convinced that Ratatouille

will be on par with the reset of the Pixar films.

My parents think I should go to my class, which is two

blocks away from where they are doing this event, instead of going to see Brad Bird and an extended clip from

Ratatouille. I’m going to have to get there several hours early (it’s a first come, first served basis for

seating…that is, after you get your tickets). None of my friends seem interested in going with me, so I guess

I’ll go on my own.

Oh, and if I can take pictures, I definitely will!

That would be great if you could take some pics! But

most of all, just let us know what happens! [/i]

(I just made a

second post for you “Spoiler-Free” folks)

[spoil]Man, this movie is going to be so

cool! The kitchen scene sounds so awesome, it’s scary.

What was that whole thing with Mr.Hill saying the

part of Remy convincing Linguini not to kill him 'doesn’t work". I didn’t understand what he meant. Oh

well, it sounded fine to me!

And it’ll be funny to see Remy “imagining” Gusteu. The whole

plot seems…tight is the best word I can come up with. I also can’t wait to see Pixar’s imagery of France. I

know they’ll make the Seine and all of Paris breathtaking. Nobody will have seen anything like it.

[/spoil]

Mr.Hill also said he isn’t worried about the marketing of Ratatouille and he thinks

Bird is “very confident in his material”.

…It’s getting better by the minute!

June 29 seems so far away!

TheIncredible - Oh yes – bring a video camera, if possible! (snigger) They

probably won’t let you do that, but even pictures would be better than nothing. Let us know how it goes!

Gasduude - On the topic of your second bit of spoiler information:

[spoil]I also love how Remy imagines Gusteau being with him on his little adventures – kind

of endearing.[/spoil]

And you’re right: June 29th does seem so

far away. The suspension is agonizing! :stuck_out_tongue:

12 minutes? Well, it is enough to get a lot of people excited, fans, and other movie

goers.

I don’t know if any of you have seen this,

but I found this little article from Rotten Tomatoes that talks about Ratatouille

(including a brief reference to the official trailer in the second-last

paragraph):

[url=http://www.rottentomatoes.com/news/comments/?entryid=404809]Rotten Tomatoes

Ratatouille article[/url]

I don’t know if you can call Rotten Tomatoes an

official source, but they also mention that Peter O’Toole is, in fact, voicing the food critic (whom we have

been calling Anton Ego ever since we found that Ratatouille fan site). Also, before

you click on the above link, beware of spoilers - and when I say spoilers, I mean spoilers as in something that

gives you a very detailed description of certain scenes in the movie.

Yeah I saw that article a few min. before you posted about. And yes it does give a scenes in

the movie away.

CountSolo - Dang – I’m

liking this film more and more by the second! Thank you for the information. I’m going to know the whole film

before I even see it in theaters.

I love this little tidbit of “information” that they

give about Pixar, by the way:

(snigger) I believe it. I’ve seen their cereal bar in pictures

before…and it probably stretches all the way to China.

any worries I had about this film have now been

officially flushed down the ol’ toilet. I was litterally dying when I read about the crazy old lady with a

shot gun… and I’m intrigued by the way the “cinimatography” is going to be used.

I’m

excited. REALLY excited.

I bet you that Ratatouille will be rated PG. oh

well.

Googly-Bear: And I’m

extremely excited! I’ve been waiting for this film ever since I heard about it in

2004 (or was it 2005?). This has to be Pixar’s most intriguing plot yet, besides the story-line of

WALL-E that is.

I’m really amazed at how my predictions have turned out –

I’m not bragging or anything, but yeesh…I almost had the whole beginning of the movie down before I even read

about it. Kinda creepy…

JV - All the more reason to see it (adult humor,

blah blah blah). Heheh.

PG? what other Pixar movies were PG?

checks collection

oooh, the Incredibles…

I doubt it will be rated PG, Pixar has a very high standard when it comes to humour, the jokes aren’t

too “sewer scumish”, like the Shrek movies XD
