I was flicking through some of my pics and I’ve noticed this one:
Come on! This does not look even remotely like the movies! The proportions are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay off for Woody & Jessie, and Buzz, well, he doesn’t smile like that!
Surely the art department at WDW, Disneyland, Disneyland HK, etc. could do a better job?
Haha, that’s a pretty funny photo! Woody looks a bit chubby and Buzz looks downright evil! 
I’ve never been to a Disneyland or anywhere like that, so I don’t know how accurate they are generally, but that’s pretty poor.
Heh, I always thought those costumes (particularly Jessie) were pretty inaccurate and, to some extent, disturbing. They could definitely do a better job.
If you actually saw them in person, you wouldn’t care. They look close enough to Jessie and Woody to me, and I just don’t think it’s really anything worth complaining about. Of course they’re a little fatter than they are in the movies… They’re… Human.
Also, one should say the costumes are poor. Disney makes some of the BEST costume designs for their characters than any other company, period.
I must say that I think the costumes used for the toy story 2 on ice production look much better
Just look at Buzz in this video from 44 seconds onwards. Cree-py! 
I think Woody’s proportions seem weird because they have to design the costume around a person wearing it, and if they made his head smaller the actor’s head wouldn’t fit inside the costume, I guess.
Huh. I guess I never paid that much attention the last time I was at WDW but those do look pretty weird. Then again, I’m only assuming WDW would have the same kind.

lennonluvr9 - They’re the same throughout the whole Disney parks. I took this is Disneyland HK, but I also saw the exact same ones when I went to WDW.
IDK, maybe it’s just me being a perfectionist, but come on - that does not nearly as remote as it could be!
Yeah, I always cringe when I see them. I understand proportian chances to fit the human body, it has to work as a suit, but they clearly could have tried harder in getting the look right. the most annoying thing to me I think is Buzz looks like he’s wearing oversized headphones. theyve been using these same designs since 1999 I believe. they need to update them.
their not much better with newer ones though. the UP characters are hilariously bad. they made Carl and the kid all tall and bleh, it doesn’t work. Its just creepy.
These would look so much better i think. Although buzz would need some tweaking
At Disneyworld California, they had some good costumes at the photo-shoot place in Pixar park or whatever the little Pixar section is called. But if they dissappoint, just go to the Buzz ride and stare in awe at the Buzz animatronic…I LOVE that thing!

I didn’t think the Up characters were so bad. Miles ahead of the Toy Story ones, that’s for sure. Yeah, Carl and the kid were a little tall but they do that with SO many of their characters. I mean, have you SEEN Jiminy Cricket in the parks? That’s a big bug!

Yeah, all the Pixar characters look awful humanized. The Incredibles look better than that, but still horrendous.
I once again disagree. I think that the Incredredibles chracters look really good, as do the Monsters, Inc. and A Bug’s Life characters. I took some photos as the Pixar Block Party Bash that I will post soon.
I wish they could bring the costumes they used in Toy Story: The Musical for the non-human toys, like Rex, Hamn, and Slinky. The Potato Head one at the Toy Story 3 premiere looks good, and it shouldn’t be too hard to make a Mrs. Potato Head out of that.
We still need the LGM’s, Bullseye, and Bo Peep.
I’m not gonna complain about Woody, Jessie, and Buzz’s costumes.
