TV Shows You Watch

I’m excited for the new season of Scooby Doo Mystery Inc. It comes out this tuesday as well as the new Looney Tunes show.

I thought Yankees are defined as descendants from English settlers in New England?

The new season of Masterchef Australia premiered yesterday. My brother is crazy about this reality cooking show, and while I’m not terribly excited about it after two seasons, it’s still a pretty interesting show. Fans of Ratatouille and the culinary arts only need apply.

I’m more excited for new episodes of AFP (Australian Federal Police). The latter is a documentary series about the elite law enforcement agency in Australia (kind of like America’s FBI). They work domestically as well as internationally in various roles such as drug trafficking, people smuggling, financial fraud, organised crime, and terrorism. The show is reminiscent of COPS or Border Security USA.

Last week’s pilot was a cracker, the episode follows two real-life agents, one an operative in Indonesia attempting to stop a human smuggler from transporting illegal immigrants (it was heartbreaking to see their mode of transport, a broken down and leaking sampan).

The second is a rookie in the Advanced Warrant Group (a SWAT-like team that conducts high-risk search and arrest warrants) on his first mission: a dawn raid of a suspected drug dealer’s home.

The doco’s ripping stuff, and infinitely more exhilaratiing watching the events unfold in real-time (there are cameras on the scene instead of reenactments) than on a fictional cop show with wisecracking partners and random explosions, because the danger is real, and you never know whether all the ‘characters’ will make it out alive at the end of each episode.

AFP episode 1 synopsis

Sometimes I was those show’s about Haunting’s

Glad you enjoyed it, but British Masterchef was one of the most horrendous pieces of drivel I ever endured 8D . It’s like the Australian one, only, it’s more sappy and sobstory based, to the extent where it got silly. It’s all very well, but when we learn that poor old Jessica is cooking for her dead grandfather, the premise gets tedious quite quickly. The whole thing was dragged out for too long, Greg Wallace has the strangest head I have ever seen, the voice over lady is extremely annoying, and to top it all off, and American ended up winning! 8D

It depends who you ask! In the USA, and around the world, Yankee means different things. For example, to someone from Europe Yankee means an American. For some people in the South who can count their decendents back the Civil War, this is not a good term, and can be used as an insult. For some Americans Yankee is just a baseball team. For most Americans Yankee means “Someone from the North”. You ask someone from the North and they’ll say “Someone From New England” Ask a New Englander and they’ll give a more detailed answer

During the Civil War, a lot of the “Yankees” fighting weren’t decendants from English Settlers. Some where of course, but the population was much more diverse than that.

But Yankee in the contect I meant was Americans who traveled across the country in the 1800s and took California as its own country from Mexico.

UGH, I watched a show last night called Fast Food Babies on BBC3.

It was awful. It’s basically these parents feeding their young kids rubbish, and then wondering why they were hyperactive/anaemic etc., and they were bringing in these specialists to reform their habits. I mean, I’m all for the occassional takeaway, but this one family were having 5 a week. Then there was this 19 year old with a 3 year old son, who stated “we have donner kebab and chips most nights, but sometimes we have KFC for a bit of variation”. Honestly, that’s insane!

I work at the drivethru in McDonalds, and the amount of young mums with 6 kids under the age of 10, asking for endless Happy Meals and fizzy pop is unbelievable-and I’m not just talking about the odd meal, there are people who come round every other day. Do people have no sense as to what they’re doing to their children?

lol, major fail on their parts!

I enjoy McDonalds Fris, and other fast food joints. I’ll admit it! I know it’s ‘bad’ but, I just care if it tastes good. Also I don’t eat there every day! Too much of anything is bad for you! I’m glad those parents and their are at least getting help!

Did I already post?

Regular Show
Adventure Time
The Simpsons
Futurama
Phineas and Ferb
Penguins of Madagascar (sort of)
Chowder
Flapjack
Pretty much any show on Disney Cinemagic
MAD (sort of)
Etc…

I wish Lilo and Stitch The Series would be on at a good timeslot on Cinemagic. What is the reason that it’s limited to bad times?

“Yeah-yuh!” I like that show

Here’s a list of TV shows I currently watch:

*South Park
*The Colbert Report
*The George Lopez Show
*King of the Hill
*Looney Tunes
*The Looney Tunes Show
*American Dad
*Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law
*The Regular Show

I was just telling somebody yesterday how Breaking In was my favorite show currently on the air. Then I log on the internet today and what do I see, Fox has cancelled the show! I’m so depreaaed right now! :frowning:

I’m watching the Australian TV premiere of the pilot episode of Sons of Anarchy (We’re three seasons behind). It’s like the Sopranos, but with Californian biker gangs. They keep using the S-word because they can’t drop the F-bomb on commercial TV, but I’m glad to see Ron Perlman (Hellboy) there! :sunglasses:

I also want to see The Looney Tunes Show after seeing a few clips on Youtube. It really has the same ‘grown-up characters’ vibe like My Little Ponies and The Regular Show (basically Bugs and Daffy are housemates in a new neighbourhood). This is a refreshing trend after so many tired high-school-setting shows. I’m also pleased with some of the subtle adult-humour going on, and it just might be the next Animaniacs if they pull this off.

TDIT: I didn’t like the first episode of The Looney Tunes Show, but the one that was aired yesterday was a lot better. I think there’s definitely a lot of room for some interesting interpretations of the characters…although I wasn’t impressed by the Road Runner segment (not particularly funny/creative to me) and the new “hip” Merry Melodies are just weird.

I didn’t like the first new episode of Scooby Doo. I’m sure I’m in the minority on this, but I grew up watching and loving all of the classic Scooby Doo shows and the rip offs. But after watching Mystery Inc., it’s hard for me to go back and watch those shows. I love how there’s a Scooby show that’s taken the Scooby Doo archetypes and made them more interesting. They’ve been doing the same thing since the 60’s, so it’s great to see conflict within the group. It’s great to see parents, and see them in school and I love the art direction and how the monsters seem like more of a threat. But I still love A Pup Named Scooby Doo! That show is so much fun!!! Those are the reasons why I didn’t like the first episode. It was just like those old Hanna Barbera mystery cartoons. But I thought the second episode was great.

I thought the second episode of The Looney Tunes Show was ok. But it wasn’t as funny as the first episode IMO.

I’ve been watching Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and I’ve really been enjoying it. But there are a lot of things I just don’t care for much at all. Overall the good stuff outweighs the bad and I shall have a more thorough review in the near future.

I know more than I should about the future episodes of Doctor Who and I still don’t care. I’m super excited despite being spoiled. I don’t know why more people don’t watch this show. It’s just plain amazing and should be tried by all.

I’ve also recently finished season three of Fringe. Luckily this show escaped the ax. It’s been going into really weird places and just when you think you’ve got your bearings things get even weirder. But so far they’ve been doing a better job holding plot threads together than they were over at Lost. There’s not really anything major that hasn’t been brought back or hinted at being brought back in the near future. So unless they drop the ZFT and Pattern thing from season one entirely, I say that they’ve got a real winner on their hands if S4 is the final one.

I like the new Looney Tune show. It’s no Chuck Jones or Tex Avery, but It is entertaining. I really like the backgrounds. The clouds and stars are very interesting, the show has a great style to it. It’s humourous too.

Like Bryko, I find the Merrie Melodies to be a bit…odd. And kind of creepy. But overall I can’t waait to see what else this show has in store.

I like watching the new Loone Tunes show. it’s different from the looney tunes that i’m famliiar with, but it’s great to see the characters again.

This might be me, but I totally dislike Lola’s character, like I tohught I would as soon as I saw a few commercials about the show. But so far, i like the new episodes.

TSS: I’m glad there’s another Looney Tunes Show watcher here! And yes, Lola is a bit annoying. I felt so bad of Bugs for being in that relationship! But she is pretty funny, nonintentionally.

Wouldn’t this make a good episode of Wife Swap. But I thought the gold one was a guy.

8D That’s epic!

Pixarfan: Haha, that picture is great, Cracked.com is awesome.
