Veggie Tales

Anybody else like these christian

direct-to-video shows?

Veggie Tales Website

How funny – I was just about to make a thread on this

very topic.

I do, indeed, love VeggieTales, and have been watching them

ever since I was a kid, from Where’s God When I’m S-Scared? to the some of the

most recent of videos.

I remember when my grandma got my sister and I the very first episode of

VeggieTales: We thought it was the weirdest, yet funniest, thing we had ever seen. We must have played

The Water Buffalo Song at least ten times on our first viewing. (snigger)

I’ve been a fan of Big Idea Productions ever since, even when the studio had to shut down from

bankruptcy. I’m a member of Phil Viscer’s Jellyfish club/distribution and look

forward to each and every veggie video that he and his crewman shell out for us fans every year.

Here is

my tally:

Favorite show: The Ballad of Little

Joe
Favorite character: Larry/Larryboy
Favorite

silly song: ā€œI Love My Lipsā€

Funny stuff. The fact

that I’m a Christian adds to the fun, as I love how they portray their messages in a biblical, yet hilarious,

fashion. And I also must admit that I had a little bit of a crush on Larryboy when I was younger…

We’ll believe it or not… I just saw Moe and the Big

Exit, Big Idea’s latest production! (It came out today in christian stores everywhere) And the

good news for you, Mitch, is that it’s a ā€œsequelā€ to The

Ballad of Little Joe! Liked it, but must admit that there quality has gone down a bit. (Ever

since Classic Media purchased Big Idea Inc.)

Favorite Show:

Larry Boy and the Rumour Weed
Favorite Character:

Junior Asparagus
Favorite ā€œSilly Songā€: The Pirates who

don’t do anything

Yep, I think being a Christian (I’m Catholic) and having read the Bible

a little bit makes everything ten times funnier!

Oh, and they showed a trailer for The

Pirates who don’t do anything:A Veggie Tales Movie. (It’s do out in theaters 2008) :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah

I’m a big fan of Veggietales to. Yeah I got/saw Moe and the Big Exit today to. It’s not the best veggietales

yet but it was good. BTW: The Pirates who don’t do anything: A Veggie Tales Movie comes out Jan. 11, 2008.

I used to love these. I love the music, the story and the

lessons. Larryboy as the best.

Veggietales=The

Awesome. Period.

I’m sorry to say that I don’t like

VeggieTales. Never have.

No offence but,its kinda

kiddish.

LightingandSally

- Yeah, I see your point! However, VeggieTales teach great values to kids everywhere. Their

animation is also increasingly better. And: it was the first Computer Animated

Series, I believe

I’ve never seen them so I cant really comment. I was a

little too old for them when I first heard about em. It looks amusing for kiddies. And that smiling tomato would

have made me laugh, i’m sure.

Lightning and Sally : Although I don’t like Veggie-tales ( never really sat down and watched

it , besides , I don’t really have a religion , I just celebrate christmas and hannukah [ my stepdad’s jewish ]

) I must say this for the fans of them …

So , people think Pixar ( and ecspecially at the moment , Cars

) is kiddish . But do we care ? … no ! Because we love it ! Woohoo ! ;-p

glp

- Agreed!

I just

saw an episode of Larryboy last week. I thought it was okay, but I missed the 3D version of LarryBoy.

The Star Swordsman - Did you see the cartoon version? 'Cause my dad worked on

those. I’m not that crazy about them myself, especially considering that a different studio helped to produce

them…I believe.

But yeah – 3-D Larryboy is much better (and cuter).

My favorite

Larryboy episode was the Rumor Weed one.

Mitch - Your dad

worked on those?! Oh yeah, he’s an animator…right! So did he work for Big Idea or

some outsource animation company?

Anyway, That’s pretty cool! :stuck_out_tongue:

Backin you up

TSS! Rumour Weed rocks!

The Star Swordsman - I’ve

gotta agree with you on that – Rumor Weed was the best.

Gasduude - Yep – he worked for the studio (don’t remember which company)

that produced the Larryboy cartoon series. I’m not exactly sure whether or not he worked on all the episodes,

but I do know he did some storyboards on the Angry Eyebrows one – he did the part

where Larryboy is attempting to get onto Evil Alvin’s ship or…something. (snigger) And I remember that he had

to watch some of the VeggieTales cartoons (3-D) so that he could get a feel of the characters, and he chose to

watch Larryboy and the Fib from Outer Space. So I got to watch a VeggieTales video

back then and listen to dad laughing at the movie at the same time.

I enjoy the Rumor Weed song and the LarryBoy theme song

too.

Hey guys, look what I found:

timothyhodge.com/

Eheh – it’s Tim Hodge’s official

website! Seems pretty new actually, as though he just got it up (according to the little ā€œWhat’s New?ā€

button in the left-hand corner of the front page…).

For those of you who don’t know, Tim Hodge

currently works for the guys at Big Idea, and did the voice for everyone’s favorite

catepillar salesman, Khalil, in Jonah: A VeggieTales Movie.

After all these

years of watching VeggieTales, I just now found out that Mr. Hodge is a storyboard

artist! Who knew? Now I’ll have to ask a friend of my dad’s if he knew Tim Hodge while working on

Mulan…

The one cool thing about having parents in the animation business

is that you get to know everybody in the universe. I haven’t met Tim Hodge yet, but

hey… (snigger)

My cousins watch it but I can never bring myself to

watch it- that, and I never see it on. Also, I’m not big on religion. (don’t be hating!) ^^;
