Video Games

Haha, yeah. I seriosuly hope I beat that this weekend. Hopefully Other M will not only be as good, but even better!

Well, I got Metroid Prime Trilogy, and it is one of the top 4 best games on Wii. If you’re like me, and you haven’t played any Metroid Prime games, I can’t recommend getting this game enough. Three awesome games for the price of one, and the new controls are just awesome. I’m only on the first game right now, but I can honestly say its a masterpiece, up to the level of Ocarina of Time even.

I can’t believe that on this forum no one ever played Champions online!
Its a MMO (online game where you play with loads of other people) Set is a world filled with superheroes! You Fight crime and the best of it is…

You get to totally custom build your character! Looks, powers and such, ever the way your character zooms trough the world can be adjusted, flight, ice glide, digging tunnels trough the ground or teleportation, it is all possible!
Zome characters I made:

Mr. Incredible (just made him for the show, not played yet) He is a “brawler” type of hero, using his strength to fight evil. He can even lift up trucks and fling them away.

Violet (my main character right now) Uses “force” powers I.E. bolts of energy and shields and energy explosions. She can also fly.

And one I just tossed up for looks and I deleted now because the name was wrong (Frzone instead of Frozone)

He had Ice powers and could move around on a iceramp(seen here in silent motion)

They aren’t exactly spot on, but the character customizer is a very robust piece of equipment and sofar every hero I have seen in the game has their own looks and uniqueness to them
If you are interrested in the game head to champions-online.com/
And if you ARe playing or if you are going to play, give me a shout when you are online, you can find me by the character handle “@Arumin

Haha, indeed sir. Beaten MP1 many a time. Good luck with those artifacts, and the last 2 bosses (they’re not that bad, but I’m used to them.) And hopefully you’ll have a better time playing MP2 than I did, it’s,… rough around the edges.

I got New Super Mario Bros. Wii the other day, and it’s really great. I haven’t tried the multiplayer yet, but the single player mode is HARD. I wasn’t expecting much going in, but I almost had to use the super guide thing :frowning: , and I’m only about halfway through the third world. It’s definitely a nice change since NSMB and all the 3D Mario games were pretty easy. I’d say it’s the best Mario platformer besides SMB3 (I didn’t like SMW).

I finally got to play Giana Sisters DS last weekend.
The Sisters’ similarity to the famous Mario Bros goes far beyond the name.
So far, in fact, that the original C64 and Amiga incarnation had to be pulled from the shelves because Nintendo’s legal department wasn’t exactly happy about it.
Years later, the situation has changed and the remake is even released on a Nintendo console.
Recommended for everyone with a soft spot for retro platform games.

Agreed. Uncharted 2 is possibly the best game on PS3. I loved every minute of it and wished it could have been longer. The multiplayer is excellent and really lengthens the game.

Also, sorry if this has been talked about before (I didn’t look through the past 17 pages that much) but the Ace Attorney series on DS is awesome. I recommend all 4 games to anyone looking for a fun interactive story.

I echo the positive sentiments of everyone who’s talked about Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. I am loving it at the moment! I can already tell it’s going to be too short, though, but that shows just how good a game it is- I want it to last longer.

I think what it has that’s different to most other games is not the gameplay or stunning graphics (although they’re both great) but is the characterisation. Nate is a really cool guy, someone who’s easy to connect with and as you play him, you want him to do well and to win, and as you make this emotional investment, the game becomes all the more important to you. Just brilliant stuff.

Yes, Nate is a cool guy. He’s like a new Indiana Jones. I love when he makes jokes while you’re actually playing.

Him and Solid Snake are my two favourite video game main characters.

I was on Firefox and when I opened it up it went to my moms ebay and it said “Won:RollerCoaster Tycoon 3:Soaked!” YAY!

My favorite video game is Sonic Heroes. Despite what most might say, it is a great game for it’s time. Each team is different, different missions, you know. Too bad everyone says it sucks. :unamused:

I just got and played around with Sims 3 World Adventures. It’s a great addition to the Sims 3 series and it’s no ordinary “go-on-holiday”-type expansion pack either, it’s actually sort of similar to adding a linear adventure puzzle, quite deviant to the Sims series. The dungeons are simple, yet challenging - try doing them while juggling your Sims’ motives! :stuck_out_tongue:

One qualm I have this with, though, is that it’s only great going with a single sim. The gameplay is a bit iffy when playing with a family on holiday.

Uncharted 2 : Among Thieves was declared Game of the Year at the Video Game Awards this past week-end. Yay ! Well done, Naughty Dog ! It also won the Best graphics and Best PS3 game awards.

Also, a sequel to the great Batman : Arkham Asylum was announced, with a teaser you can watch here : arkhamhasmoved.com/

Yay, I’m really pleased to hear that! I do love Uncharted 2 to pieces, so to hear it win such a great selection of awards is brilliant. And hmm, a sequel to Batman: Arkham Asylum? I’ve actually got the first one downstairs, though I haven’t played it yet (been much too distracted with the multiplayer of Uncharted 2) but I’ve heard some very good things, so I’m not surprised to hear about a sequel. Thanks for the info, Archibald.

Oh, boy! A video game topic! Where do I start…

First of all, I see many of you guys like to play on the PS3 or play games, like World of Warcraft (I’ve never played it yet, so I don’t know what it’s like, right now). Well, I’ve been a Nintendo video game player! When I was in elementary school, when Pokemon was spreading across America and, up here in Canada, my mom decided to get me a Game Boy Colour with Pokemon Silver. It was a frustratingly hard game to play, and it still kinda is today. To make the story short, I still have some of my old PC games, a PS2 (which is basically done for 'cause me and my brother were too lazy to get new controllers 'cause the other ones broke), a Game Boy Advance, a Nintendo DS and a Nintendo Wii.

I’ve been an avid Mario fan, while my brother likes the Sonic & Legend of Zelda games. My favorite games, so far, are Mario Kart (Double Dash, DS & Wii) and any of the Super Smash Bros. games. Currently, my brother has been eBaying (searching around eBay) and has come up with a Nintendo 64 and a whole bunch of N64 games. :open_mouth: (don’t ask about how much, I can’t even remember how much!) I can’t wait to try it out with him, as I’ve, been busy with school, lately, and I’ll hopefully be able to enjoy it over the hoidays. Can’t wait!

I had a bit of bad luck when I went to the video game store yesterday.
Last week they still had a pre-owned copy of “Twilight Princess” for the GameCube at least 10€ below what it usually goes for on eBay, but when I went there to buy it, it was of course already sold. :frowning:

They still had several copies of “Four Swords Adventures”, but I wonder if the single-player mode is any good.
The one of “FF: Crystal Chronicles” unfortunately was pretty lousy.

Four Swords Adventures isn’t worth the trouble. I have it, and it’s a bit of a disappointment. MAYBE if you have 2 or 3 friends with GBA’s and you can play together, but it’s nothing special really. Single Player is a drag. Only Zelda game I don’t like.

I totally agree with this. In fact, this can be related to Assassin’s Creed 2. I mean, to me, the game was really long. That’s what makes AC2 stand out first of all is it’s length. Compared to most games these days that barely even reach 6 hours…

The other strong point of both of these games is story and characters. I mean, for AC2, the story is simply incredible and I just cannot wait for the third one to come out because I need to know what happens — I’ve got to know! And besides, through both AC1 and AC2, you meet Desmond and you really begin to bond with him as you find out more and more about why he’s there and what he’s feeling. And same goes for UC2, the story, IMO was pretty awesome and I agree that it was a tad short.

And if you want to get into graphics… both games just look incredible. XP

I only got 2 video games for Christmas, one doesn’t work ,and the other one is hard as h e l l.

I’m pleased to hear that you’re enjoying Assassin’s Creed 2, Remy14. I’m absolutely desperate to get it now, though I was slightly disappointed that Altair didn’t return (though it’s obvious why). As much as he stuck out in the first game with that strong American accent, I liked how out of sorts he was in comparison to the rest of his world.

Right now, the game that I am playing through is Sonic Unleashed, one of my christmas gifts.
