Video Games

The 3DS is coming out in March, and will cost about $300.

I’m glad that they’re not rushing it out for Christmas, but that price is a bit steep. Hope they lower it to $250-ish at least, since the $300 tag is just converted from Yen and not the official price.

I’m really excited though.

I’d probably just get a DSi if I ever got one. The 3DS doesn’t really interest me all that much. Probably just because I have never seen it for myself so I can’t say that it’s like, super awesome or anything.

I also heard that they’re making yet another Layton game that is sort of like the prequel to the Curious Village (it’s basically about when he finds Luke for the first time). They changed the title for this one from “The Specter’s Flute” to “The Flute of Malevolent Destiny”, which I read about on this short article from IGN.

Hehe… I can’t wait!

$300 for a DS? Geez, everything cost to much. I wait for it to drop down. I will proberly play on it the new Paper Mario game, Zelda Ocarina of Time DS(finally) and the new Pokemon game, Will probelly be a remake, 2nd 5th gen game or 6th.

Common misconception: the 3DS is not a DS, but like a different hand-held.

I dunno why they called it a 3DS then, though…

Badger: I had assumed that it was like a regular DS, but they just fixed it up so it can play 3D games. You can switch between 2D and 3D while you’re playing it.

I have seen some videos of people playing it, and it looks just like a regular DS, as seen in this picture:
Nintendo 3DS

Like I said, it’s just a modified, updated version of a normal DSi with fancy new gadgets and 3D capability.

Analog stick! Laugh out loud, PSP had that from the very beginning. I can’t wait to see how good the 3D tech is, though.

Daughter of Eve: From what I know, it won’t be able to play regular DS games in 3D. Only 3DS-exclusive ones. Also, you’ll be able to download Game Boy and GBA games like on the Wii Virtual Console, which is really cool.

Looking forward to OoT and Street Fighter especially.

Also, any TF2 players out there? I’m selling some items:
tf2items.com/id/Bryko614
First column = My hats. I’ll trade hat-to-hat, but mostly not for items.
Second column = My new update items. Up for trade.
Third column = My duplicate items, which I can give away for cheap.
Second page = My personal items / loadout, not for sale.

Oh my. That does sound promising. I think I’ll get a 3DS eventually, lol.

I’m not big into video games, but it is a lot of fun watching my friend play Harry Potter Lego Year 1-4. Funny stuff!

Who’s excited for Kirby’s Epic Yarn?!

I’m SO excited for this game. It’s about time Kirby came to the Wii.

What I like most about the 3DS are neither the 3D screen nor the new controls but that it finally has a GPU that can do proper texture filtering.
It was really about time. The DS(i) is the last remaining console of the current generation that is still stuck in the GPU stone-age.

Holy buckets, I can’t wait for NFS HP. It’s like it was made for me!*

December 7th: Cataclysm release!

I can’t wait!!! Who’s with me?

Hey, I love video games, so I’d be happy to discuss them in this board.

I love many kinds of video games and I have several consoles in my house. My favourite game franchise is Grand Theft Auto. I love pretty much everything about it. It’s freedom, gameplay, it’s story, satire humor and many other things. I am also a fan of other Rockstar games like Red Dead Redemption and Max Payne.

As well as the above, I also like several Mario games, open-world RPGs like Fallout 3 and Oblivion, Little Big Planet and most games in the sandbox genre.

Honestly, the first time I saw the title for that game I burst out laughing. 8D Of course Kirby could take something as simple as yarn and make it epic…

I don’t really know if I’d buy it though… I’m extremely picky when it comes to videogames, and I usually wait until it’s been out for a while until I finally get the chance to play it. It’s nice that way because the games aren’t so expensive by then… I like to know what the game’s like before I go and buy it anyways.

My only exception was Super Mario Galaxy 2. It was the only game that I bought several days after it came out. :stuck_out_tongue:

I herd they are going to make Kingdom Hearts: Codded for the 3DS. i gotta get me one YD if its differnt from a DS thats good cause i so love my DSI and i wouldnt get another DS while i have it

Left 4 Dead 2: Just got it as it was just released for Mac. Fun so far, I just wish I had friends with the PC/Mac version as well. Everyone I knew has the 360 version. It’s still great though.

Sonic 4: Only played a little, but so far it seems fun, but a little unoriginal and more of a rehash of the first 3 games. Not a ton of new features. I do like it quite a bit though.

Haha! I was the same way! I was watching the E3 feed in June so I saw it right as it was announced, and when the name came up, I was sorta like… “whoa… are you joking?!” 8D

I don’t blame you, I’m super picky about new games too. I’m a loyal Kirby fan which is why I’m buying it, but my confidence was boosted tenfold when I saw all the awards and positive buzz on the game’s demo and those who have gotten to play it already.

Leirin: I’ve heard some really positive stuff about it as well. I have never played any Kirby games, but I’m sure I might end up getting this one eventually. And plus, Kirby is awesome. I do really good with him on Super Smash Bros Brawl.

^Basically what I was thinking, too. And that kinda goes towards Epic Mickey as well.

Other than that, though, there really aren’t a lot of titles coming out this year that have really interested me. :\ The only other exception would be Professor Layton and the Unwound Future - since I have recently discovered how much I love puzzle/adventure games. But seriously - if my mom loves the Layton games, then they must be good because she hates playing video games. xD I would definitely recommend it… if you actually like to play frustrating games that make you want to throw the game across the room. :unamused: But to me, in a sense, that’s what makes it fun. xDD
