This will be great!
In a few days, a downloadable episode for Red Dead Redemption called Undead Nightmare is going to be released. It’ll add new weapons, missions and a zombie theme to the game. Looking really forward to it. However, I think I’ll just wait to until the disc version comes out and get it for Christmas.
I rarely use Playstation Store anymore, especially since some idiot hacked into my account and bought stuff using my mum’s credit card details.
Holy guacaomole Bryko, I never fathomed a crossover like this! I really like how they managed to combine the different art styles into one composite!
Evil_Genius: Wow, that Bioshock trailer was intense! Seeing yourself from that height is truly terrifying… scariest game trailer I’ve seen. FEAR 3 and Heavy Rain’s ads have nothing on this.
I’m surprised by the number of casual gamers here. By that, I mean more kid-friendly fare like Mario Kart, Banjo Kazooie, Professor Layton, yadda yadda, not by the intensity of gaming (I believe the term ‘casual gamer’ is misleading, cos’ you can play a family game like Wii Fit or Raving Rabbids, like, on a hardcore level or somethin’ ). Not as many MW2, MoH or CS gamers here, but I suppose that’s great, there needs to be more non-violent alternatives nowadays. Though I suppose Mario’s deaths can be pretty gruesome.
Banjo-Kazooie kidfriendly? Banjo-motherfreakin’-Kazooie?
ahem
inb4 search for ‘Banjo-Kazooie: Rated E?’ on YouTube
(I understand that kidfriendly is not the same as childish. So yeah. I was overreacting. Please excuse me. xD I see what you mean.)
I generally dislike shooters and other ‘hardcore’ stuff
I prefer the things everyone can enjoy
well except for Conker but that’s something different.
…
I miss the newer kidfriendly platformers.
Mr. Miyamoto said he’s got a new character, a new REAL character which he’s gonna show soon. So I remain hopeful.
And Rare says they haven’t forgotten about their fans. Thanks, but can’t I just have a new Conker or Banjo? D8
^Haha. I laughed when I read this.
But yeah - I’m not really a “hard-core” gamer… unless you count in the fact that I get really hyper while playing Mario Kart…? (No, I’m serious. Our Mario Kart games are intense.)
What TDIT was trying to say, Badger, was just the fact that Banjo-Kazooie isn’t technically a “hard-core” game like the other games he had mentioned (MoH, MW2, etc.). He didn’t mean to say that the games were just for kids.
…I honestly don’t know what to think about that Layton/Phoenix Wright crossover-thing. Is that even legit? I have never played any of the Phoenix Wright games, so I was very confused as to who all those characters were on that video.
On another note, I think I’m slowly convincing my mom to let me buy a DSi.
I feel like I’m being ignored on this thread. I guess it’s just different taste in games.
Wow, naughty innuendos galore! Thanks, Badger. Wish i had a copy of BK… I have a PSOne languishing in the dust somewhere.
I used to play Crash Team racing and Looney Tunes Racing with my sibs and we got into some pretty bad rows then!
Yup, I’m talking about those explicitly marketed for teens and adults like Far Cry, Counter-Strike and Grand Theft Auto. You know, those with huge explosions, serious weapons and beautiful women.
Have you seen this? (PG-13 for a few instances of coarse language). This guy is such a wuss, it’s hilarious!
Tell me about it. Nobody plays Mafia or Need for Speed here, man! Everyone’s like, playing all the Professor Banjo-Mario and stuff.
I suppose you can try to find out more about the other games people are talking about? Maybe you might discover one you might like.
Ha! Professor-Banjo-Mario. I’m remembering that.
Sorry for overreacting. I feel like going all WAGH RAGE whenever somebody mentions Banjo-Kazooie, be it negative or not. I don’t know why.
I sometimes like shooters though… when playing against some of my classmates on the DS for examples. Then it’s pretty funny. At times.
Except for when they kill me.
WAAAAAGH!
If you ever get a Nintendo 64, you should definitely try to get a copy of Banjo-Kazooie. Or buy it on Xbox Live.
Pfft. Kid friendly =/= casual. I’d like to see most modern gamers these days tackle Battletoads, Ninja Gaiden, etc. The only “adult” games I play are those by Valve. But I’d still consider myself a hardcore gamer. I honestly consider gratuitous violence to be more immature than kid-friendly. Don’t take this as a personal attack on you or anything, just something that bugs me in general.
Anyway, I’ve been playing Super Meat Boy lately; a super fun, challenging, and well-designed XBLA platformer. Easily one of the best XBLA games. I think this says it all: youtube.com/watch?v=ZQZeQSaXwR8
Which was why I said this:
But yeah, I totally agree with you. Just because something is kid-friendly doesn’t make it less epic.
If anything, I appreciate a video game more if it has a great storyline and meaningful characters. Gratuitous explosions, gunfights and T&A is what I consider the ‘icing on the cake’, nice, but not necessary.
Speaking of which, I can’t decide if I want to get Test Drive Unlimited 2 or Need for Speed Hot Pursuit for the holidays. Any racing fans got suggestions?
Battletoads was by Rare, right?
Yeah, that’s all I remember of games - whether they’re made by Rare… or not. xD
I wanna play more Rare games! has only played BK, BT and DK64, and loves them to death
Try Conker’s Bad Fur Day! /fangirl
Er… if you can handle blood, cussing, and other mature themes, that is. But once you see through that it’s actually a really clever game.
The Donkey Kong Country trilogy is amazing too (all three of them) and Diddy Kong Racing is also very enjoyable.
Oh yeah, Diddy Kong Racing! can’t believe I forgot to mention it in my post
I tried watching an LP of Conker’s Bad Fur Day, but it was maybe a tad too suggestive in content for my liking. I laughed a lot though. Maybe I’ll play it when I’m actually 17…
I like Need for Speed. But Burnout was better, which is why this Need for Speed will be awesome: It’s being developed by the people who made Burnout.
Best space Video game ever: Freelancer. (Except for maybe Star Trek Online, though I’ve never played that.)
I love Animal Crossing, The Sims, & I was on a huge Mario Kart kick for awhile. Another really good one is SSX3 for old school X-Box, along with Pacman World 2.
rock-itpop: I love Animal Crossing! We have the GameCube one and the Wii version.
We also have Pacman World 3 for GameCube, and it is actually kind of fun. I like the fact that it has all the old Pacman arcade games on it. My brothers said that Pacman World 2 was alot of fun, as well. I have never played it, though.
Who else here likes the old Atari games like Pong and Asteroids? I used to be really good at Asteroids when I was a kid, but I haven’t played it since I was like, 7 or 8. :\
The blonde Bond is back, baby! And this time he’s taking down Sam Fisher (0:46).
Rock Band 3 = ridiculously awesome! Seriously, I’ve never played piano in my life, and after ten minutes I can play John Lennon’s Imagine…on a real piano…like, in real life.
