Undead Nightmare was a great Add-On. It was kind of short but it’s only $10 and it’s totally worth the money.
Call of Duty: Black Ops is out today!
The TV commercial “There’s A Soldier In All of Us” has one of the most interesting concepts I’ve seen for a video-game ad, and it stars some very notable cameos.
I also like the Launch Trailer for the visuals-synching to the audio, some truly top-notch editing going on. And the theme is a really great Rolling Stones number!
I’m not sure when I’ll be getting Black Ops. I’m going to be busy with Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood and Medal of Honor so maybe early February.
Unbelievable. One and a half years ago I was playing Donkey Kong Country 1, 2, and 3 - all while weeping that this amazing series has been lost forever without a trace of a sequel being possible.
And along came Retro studios to re-invent it, with Donkey Kong Country Returns.
And it’s almost here.
I can barely contain my excitement. Thank you, Retro studios!
I can’t wait for Donkey Kong Country Returns. I Remember playing the orignals on the SNES. It broke a few years ago because I did something really stupid.
Just picked up Donkey Kong Country Returns, and I have to say I’m pretty much blown away. If not for Super Mario Galaxy 2, I would say this is easily the best platformer I’ve played on the Wii, yet. I didn’t play alot of the original DKC, as I had a Genesis, but I’m familar enough to know that Retro really did a good job replicating the feel of the game, while adding some really cool new ideas to the mix. As someone who still loves 16 bit games, I have to say the thing I’m most impressed with is how Retro NAILED the feel of those classic 16 bit platformers, better than games like New Super Mario Bros. Wii or Sonic the Hedgehog 4 did. Retro is seriously amazing.
I remember owning the original Donkey Kong Country on my SNES. Classic. I acutally still have the cartridge, but I don’t know what happened to my Super Nintendo.
I wanna get it! Donkey Kong lover, and co-op FTW. It’s been a good year for games.
I’m not very excited for DKCR, it looks kind of bland in my opinion. I haven’t played it though, so I could be totally wrong.
Anyway, as you can probably tell I’m super excited for the Back to the Future video game
Bryko: Oh, so that’s where your avvie and siggy came from! For the longest time I had no idea what it was, but I had a feeling it was from a video game of sorts.
But I totally agree with you - DKCR doesn’t really interest me all that much because it’s basically the same thing as the other DKC games, in my opinion. I might end up changing my mind if I ever have the chance to play it, though.
I really want to get Kirby’s Epic Yarn, but my brothers are lame and won’t pay for it (I’m still saving money for my beautiful Mario edition DSi XL <3)… they would rather buy New Super Mario Bros. Wii… which I thought looked really lame. Seriously - they aren’t too old for Kirby. They have videos on Nintendo Channel of grown men playing it, and having a blast while doing so. As far as Wii games go, I think that’s the only one I would really like to have.
Oh, um, when I get my DSi, do you guys know of any good games that are out there for it? I really like puzzle games and action-adventure type games (that aren’t too easy ). I’m already looking into buying Professor Layton and the Unwound Future (basically the reason why I wanted a DS in the first place ), but I’m also thinking about Super Scribblenauts as well.
Geez, sorry for the long post, guys! ^^;
Yessss. Epic Yarn is really excellent. All the levels are really well-designed, it isn’t overly-difficult while still being challenging, and we already know how beautiful it is visually and musically. I’m glad my friends don’t ridicule me for still being a Kirby fan at age 13 xD I don’t see a single thing wrong with it. And notice how the people that do criticize it play bland, generic shooters.
Well, I’m 16, and I want to get a game that looks like some kid’s storybook. But yes, I agree - the game looks beautiful. I have seen several walkthroughs of the game, and I have actually been pretty impressed at how smooth the animation and the graphics are (granted, it was Youtube quality ).
Maybe, by sheer happenstance, I may be able to get enough money for it after Christmas… maybe. Like I said, I have been trying to convince my brothers that it isn’t a stupid “baby game”, and that it looks like alot of fun. Also, it’s been getting really good reviews and ratings, from what I’ve seen.
I think some people secretly think I’m kinda weird because I like videogames. I draw so much fanart, it’s crazy. xD (Speaking of which, I actually drew a lame sketch of Kirby and Prince Fluff today when I was bored. )
Seriously, there is absolutely nothing wrong with you liking the Kirby series. Those people who play the boring shooter games don’t know what having fun is.
I just have a question for everyone. Is anybody getting any new games for Christmas?
Im hopeing of getting Pokemon HeartGold and Super Mario All Stars 25th Annaivercy edition. It’s a remake of the original Super Mario All Stars. It has Super Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros 2, Super Mario Bros 3, Super Mario Bros 2: The Lost Levels(Japans version which is very hard), and as a little treat Mario Bros. I had a version that had Super Mario World also in it. It was called Super Mario All Stars + Super Mario World, I heard it’s kinda rare today.
DCKR is the same thing as the other entires in the series, in the same way that Sonic 2 is the same as Sonic 1 or Super Mario Galaxy 2 is the same as Galaxy 1. Same amount of amazing gameplay and level design, with enough new ideas put in to make it feel fresh.
I’m a 22 year old guy, and I’m gettin Kirby’s Epic Yarn. The art style and gameplay are way too amazing to pass up. My only problem with the Kirby games is that while they are insanely fun, they tend to be a bit on the easy side, which is why DCKR is my main plat former this year. That game is seriously tough, and I love it for that.
Getting Kirby’s Epic Yarn, Golden Sun: Dark Dawn, and Super Mario 25th Anniversary Collection. Also looking at Metroid: Other M, Professor Layton and the Unwound Future, Sonic Colors, Goldeneye 007, and Sin and Punishment: Star Successor, but I’ll probably just picks those up myself when they go down in price.
Geoff: I wish I could name off some, but I don’t think I’ll be getting any for Christmas. If I were to get anything, I would get Kirby’s Epic Yarn, and Professor Layton and the Unwound Future.
But, since money’s so tight and stuff, I don’t even know if I should keep my hopes up for a DSi XL… let alone a Wii game.
Pixarfan91: I heard about that Super Mario Bros. thing… and it looks so cool! The thing that made me want it was the fact that it comes with an entire book of concept art from the 80’s and it also comes with a soundtrack that has all the Mario music from the very first Super Mario Bros. all the way up to Super Mario Galaxy 2!! Mega awesome!!!
DocKenobi: Oh my gosh, you’re getting Kirby and Professor Layton??! …I’m so tryin’ not to be jealous right now…
The only thing I really want is Epic Mickey.
Interesting games everyone. As for me, I plan to get Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare and Fallout: New Vegas.
Haha, no. I’m probably just going to get Kirby’s Epic Yarn. I’ll get Professor Layton when I have some extra money.
Was interested in getting that, but after all the reviews about the poor controls and camera, I think I’m gonna pass on it.
I’ve read nothing but rave reviews for Need for Speed Hot Pursuit. The review in the Tech section of the Straits Times (Singapore’s national broadsheet) gave it a 9/10. Definitely spending my first paycheck on this as a self-Christmas gift for sure!
On another note, I’m now playing Burnout Legends on the PSP. It has to be the most visceral racing experience for the console. There’s nothing like hurtling down a highway at 170 miles per hour with your rivals somersaulting overhead from a tanker explosion and Junkie XL booming in the background…
Oh, and Prinny: Can I Really Be a Hero? is awesome. Apparently a ‘cannon-fodder’ character in the Disgaea series, the plucky-penguins with wooden pegs for legs get their own epic adventure. Sent to collect ingredients for an ‘Ultra Dessert’ by the evil demon queen Etna within 10 hours, a 1000-member squad of Prinnies must journey across worlds, butt-stomping, sword-fighting, and trash-talking their way past many formidable food-related foes. Only one will be the hero… and the clock is ticking…
