Whilst it would have been interesting to see Aang [spoil]kill Ozai[/spoil] you’re right in that it really wouldn’t have worked that well, it would have meant that the series would not have ended on such a positive note and there wouldn’t really have been time to solve Aangs emotional turmoil over killing someone.
On a side note watching that show gave me a passion for Jasmine tea…
Looks up at none-villain related post… Umm, not only is Frollo a great villain but he has what is most possibly the greatest villain song ever.
Call me strange, but… I have a fondness for Foulfellow and Gideon. They’re the roguish animals in Pinocchio that try to trick him several times. There are several characters in that movie that could be considered villains, but these guys always take the cake for me.
Oogie Boogie: Just for being so damn cool in The Nightmare Before Christmas. Really he literally ----es Santa, and makes it seem cool.
Dr. Facilier: from The Princess and The Frog . Besides being voiced by the orgasmically awesome Keith David, he has hands down the best villain song out of any Disney Animated feature.
The Phantom Blot from Epic Mickey. The fact that Warren Spector managed to take a hilariously corny costumed thief and turn it into an Eldritch Abomination is enough alone to make me want to buy this game.
Hades from Hercules. I think I agree with everyone when they said that the casting of James Woods for this character was beyond brilliant.
The Chernabog from Fantasia. He’s literally death incarante set to the most awesome orchestral rendition of Night On Baldwin Mountain.
Professor Ratigan from The Great Mouse Detective He’s voiced by Vincent Price and sings. Need I go on?
The Horned King from The Black Cauldron . A relatively forgotten Disney film, The Black Cauldron was a completely dark Disney film and the Horned King was easily the source of the film’s excessive Nightmare Fuel.
Heffalumps and Woozles from Winnie The Pooh. Yeah, I know they aren’t really villains, but c’mon they tried to steal Pooh’s honey! And their song was really really awesome and trippy.
[b]The Mad Doctor[i] from the Mickey Mouse Cartoon The Mad Doctor. I know most have you probably have forgotten this short but it is easily one of the best early Disney Classic shorts made. He’s insane, has an incredibly malicious and hilarious laugh, and has a super long goatee. It’s Better Than It Sounds.
Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty. I was never a fan of Sleeping Beauty (personally I thought the entire thing was way to overrated) but I did really enjoy her character and actually found myself rooting for her most of the time during the film.
The Hatbox Ghost from The Haunted Mansion Dark Ride. As an avid Imagineering fan, I appreciate this character on several aspects. First, even though the technology was way too limited for this character to be possible, I really enjoy the technical aspects of this character’s movements. I’m still hoping that with modern technology, as well as the new Haunted Mansion film coming out, that they might still return the character. Next, the fact that he was cancelled because he was too scary for a ride that’s supposed to be scary is just way too awesome for me to pass on.
I don’t normally like Disney villians, with the exception of Hades from Hercules. He’s very charismatic and witty asides from being “just evil”, which makes his personality really fun, plus I LOVE his sarcasm. It’s extremely hilarious, lmao. And I have to say that recently I even started liking Dr. Facilier from The Princess and the Frog a lot because he’s just so badass and like Pixar Builder said, he has THE BEST villian song ever. A

Seriously. I can’t help but love Shego. When KP was first promoted, I thought she was going to be purely cold-hearted and scary. However, as I watched the show, she turned out to be really funny and likeable. Practically, everything about her won me over; her sense of humor, her sarcasm, her unforgettable voice, her mocking of Drakken, her backstory and family, and her cool superpowers have earned her a place in my Favorite Character Hall of Fame. It’s actually pretty rare that I’d like a villain (the only other villain I’ve liked was Jacqueline Hyde from the computer game Carmen Sandiego’s Great Chase Through Time).
But yeah, she’s my all-time fave villain (and KP character). Shego rules!!!
I always thought Eris from Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas and Demona from Gargoyles were made of sexy stuff.
Some of my other favourite baddies are Howard Payne (Dennis Hopper RIP), Hans Gruber, Scar, Hades, Hopper, Dr Facilier, Davy Jones, AUTO, Professor Ratigan, Muntz, Tai Lung, Le Chiffre, and The Joker.
Book villains include He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, the Stupid Stupid Rat Creatures, Mrs. Coulter, and Lung Tien Lien.
I think I mentioned this in my review of The Princess and the Frog , but I just felt so very underwhelmed by Dr. Facilier. He left me, as a villain, unimpressed, and his demise barely affected me. I do agree that Keith David did a good job voice acting the role, but I don’t think the script handeled him very well. His motivation for doing wrong didn’t seem all that inspiring, his connection to the voodoo gods was strange and felt uninformed, and I was really upset that he really had no idea about Tiana. Correct me if I am wrong, but I don’t remember Facilier knowing anything about Tiana when he set out to capture the frog Naveem. Then when he finally met her, he knew her whole life story. I get that he knew all about her hopes and dreams (I’m sure his magic informed him of that), but shouldn’t he have been surprised to see a second talking frog? He had absolutely no interaction with her prior to this point in the film, which I found strange considering she is the title character.
I think Facilier had sooo much potential, but the writting of his part felt really lack luster to me. I was just really disapointed with how they handled him. His character design was fantastic though.
As well, I barely remember his song. None of the songs in the film left me with that “wow” factor, although I do think they were all very good, including Facilier’s. I just didn’t wow me.
Now “Be Prepared”, there’s a good villain song. Of course, my love for Scar may just be leaving me biased.
I would have to disagree here, it was a very good song but Hellfire from The Hunchback of Notre Dame was my personal favourite, he wasn’t singing about how evil he was, he was singing about his dip into madness that was driven by his lust for Esmerelda, and of course the religious taboos associated with that, it was such a dark song and very unique for a Disney villian song in my opinion.
