I really like Violet with her log black hair. but I wondered. i believe that it’s natural because if it wasnt, when she fell into the ocean, wouldn’t the color dye come off?
No, you’d get permament dye. It take longer to wear off, and water won’t make it come off.

Yeah, decent hair dye shouldn’t wash out that easily.
Maybe it’s a reccessive gene. My brother has dirty blonde hair and everyone else has brown and I have jet black nature hair. My Grandma had red hair. So maybe down the family tree there was someone who had black hair and Vi was the one to catch the reccessive gene.
I read here that somebody said that Violet might be adopted (whose super hero parents were killed by Syndrome, and so was adopted by Bob to make up for it) and while this is interesting I just realized, how could that happen when Bob never heard of Syndrome till the movie, and he wasn’t killing off heroes till then? O.O So I think the above post is right and Violet got a recessive gene that no one else did.

Did anybody ever stop to think that maybe it could be a mutation, plain and simple? On average, each of us has three random mutations (according to Stan Lee’s Super Humans). Maybe, if there’s no other explanation, it could just be a random mutation.

I appologize for the double post. But since a lot of people seem to think Violet dies her hair, I thought I’d see what she’d look like with hair like her mom’s . So I did a quick manip, and this is what it came out lookin’ like:

TSS- I’ve see pics like that befor, too. I saw a comic someone did of Violet getting caught dieing her hair. But agian, there’s some question as to weather it would still turn invisible or not

It’s not so obvious in the dark of the cave, but I imagined it. I wouldn’t like it, personally.
As to whether her hair would turn invisible with her, maybe this is a special dye she got from Edna!!!

. But, agreed. I love her hair <3 . And maybe she could turn it invisible. My guess is she turns invisible by bending light around her body and therefore anything inside it (also why you can’t see what she had for lunch when she’s invisible 
.). So if the color got absorbed into the hair, she might be able to turn it invisible with her…

Well said. Just like Sue Storm from FF. in fact, she does have powers similar to Sue. I was rather creeped out when I realized that.
