W.A.L. - E - Pixars' next?

A guy in a different forum guessed

that W.A.L.-E. is Woody And Lightyear - Encore
Interesting theory. Could be true.

as much as an interesting theoring it is, as Dash discussed on the podcast, It

would seem a bit to early for TS3 as the merger was only completed in May/June. Pixar movies usually get a 4 year

treatment.

your right bawpcwpn

But i

read an article from Disney, where they said, that they wanna push Pixar even to 2 movies a year. Like Dreamworks

does. At least they will push Pixar to 1 movie a year. No way that they won’t.
2008 will definetely have Toy

Story 3. And WAL-E should be the codename for TS3. Here they showed the project at Siggraph 2005:

the whole report:

No no no no no. Disney ARE not pushing Pixar to make 1 or 2 movies a year and no gaps without movies.

They are letting Pixar do their own thing. But because there are some irregularities in the release dates of

Pixar movies not being every year, Disney want to see more movies like theirs but ones at a cheaper cost and

quicker to make. So Disney are getting Robert Zemeckis and his Mo-Cap team in to do that.

It is not set in

concrete that 2008 will have TS3. TS3 was only announced by Pixar at the middle of year. Before this announcement

at like the 2nd Quarter Pixar Earnings Conference last year, Steve Jobs said that they had 3 films lined up. One

of which is Ratatouille. The second of which now it seems is W.A.L.-E and a third to be announced. Then Pixar

made the announcement of doing TS3. So If we do the math. At one Pixar movie a year from now on, we get

Ratatatouille in 2007, W.A.L.-E in 2008, the third film in 2009 and TS3 in 2010. Plus John Lasseter is very

busy.

Also that photo of TS3 poster is from the 2005 Siggraph when Disney’s Circle 7 where creating TS3.

Then at the start of the year Pixar and Disney announced their merger and John Lasseter and Ed Catmull canned TS3

production, and now they announced they are working on it.

I think W.A.L.-E is most likeley as others have

pointed out to be either Pixar’s rumoured Sci-Fi movie or an aquatic adventure about Whales.

With all

this info floating around I don’t know what to think

Why do you know so much bawpcwpn ? :astonished: :open_mouth:

I’m just gonna wait and see what they do, to be honest…I’m sure Pixar will do

what’s best, either way.

bawpcwpn is Luxo Jr.!

Upcoming Pixar mastermind! I wouldn’t be suprised if you have telescopes going into Pixar studios… heh.

LOL! They would have to be pretty long Telescopes to go from Aussie to the

US!

Well… you never know. Heheh. 8D

On Wikipedia it says that Jim Reardon

director of the TV series The Simpsons is directing W.A.L.-E, what is that all about?

One thing I have learnt from Wikipedia is not to trust

information that is uncited or that you dont know is true. However this could be possible as a few people that

have worked with Fox on the Simpsons have moved to Pixar i.e. Brad Bird, David Silverman, Rich Moore, Kevin

O’Brien and Jim Reardon is also one of them.

On my blog someone commented that they found out that Rich

Moore is working on a film at Pixar and W.A.L.-E could be the one. He could be co-directing it with Jim

Reardon.

Yeah, no one should a 4,000 mile

telescope across the Pacific, Bawpcwpn!

I agree that the order of films to come will probably

Ratatouille, W.A.L.-E., a third film, and TS3. But I still like to think that they’ll be a tad sporadic still .

. . with releases in 2007, 2009, 2010, and 2012.

But that’s just me. :stuck_out_tongue: As much as I’d love a PIXAR

film every year, I don’t think I’m ready for so much goodness yet!!

But to confirm what Bawpcwpn said,

when Disney merged with PIXAR, they gave PIXAR complete control of both animation

departments (w/Lasseter as Chief Creative Officer, who answer only to Iger I believe), hoping that some of the

PIXAR cheer will revitalize the Disney Animators, and create the future Third Golden Age of Disney.

Post

Merger, they told PIXAR they’d like two films a year, only to hear (most likely) laughs. PIXAR got to get

control of everything . . . rights to their old movies, their hoping lamp logo, and each of their stocks were

worth 2.3 Disney ones, I beleive! They even get to continue their way of “contracts” which I beleive

is lack there of, and on purpose!

PIXAR doesn’t want to ruin a perfectly working way of making great

films . . . they are going to take their time making them . . . and hopefully put some of that into

Disney.

EDIT - Just read the above post. While they’ll probably be good if there from the same stock as

David Silverman & Brad Bird, I WAS hoping for a Pete Doctor or Andrew Stanton film!!

I guess this

is as good a place as any to bring it up, but I’m guessing co-directing Monsters, Inc. was just a one-time thing

for David Silverman as far as Pixar involvement goes…? Because you’d think that someone who was

“powerful,” shall we say, to be co-director of one of the films would have gone on to be heard of a bit

more often. I just find it a bit odd that that’s the only Pixar project he’s worked on, yet he worked on it at

such a high level. Anybody know what ever happened to him?

it seems he went from working on the simpsons, to working on The Road to El Dorado then to Ice

Age/Monsters Inc and then back to simpsons to now directing the Simpsons movie. I wonder what enticed him over

to Pixar for Monsters Inc?

Maybe it was purely Pixar’s success

rate- that in itself has attracted many famous names.

On Wikipedia it says that

Birds Of A Feather (coming in 2009) is the next film after W.A.L-E. (Coming

in 2008). This time I don?t believe Wikipedia on this one, I mean it?s not like I have never trusted Wikipedia

before, it just that I don?t trust them on this one.

Birds

of a Feather? Not sure about that…And Wikipedia isn’t always reliable, so I’m a bit sceptical about this one.

Unless there’s any other evidence of such a film arising?

Now we know that “Lifted” is the next Pixar Short and that it is about aliens, So that

means W.A.L-E is not about aliens, What does everyone think W.A.L-E is about now?
